Ordered the food online through Uber eats and requested for a swap of ingredients for the Yong tofu. They did it for me without charge and also gave me a bag of free prawn crackers. Food was delicious also :)
I came on a late Saturday night and greeted by lovely staff. Food was amazing and will be returning for sure. Thank you for the great service.
Delicious cuisine, friendly and prompt service! Suzanne was so lovely and generous - she heard how worried I was about running out of toilet paper during the Coronavirus outbreak and she gave me some to take home to my family! Can't beat that for service - She said that if any customer was desperate she would be willing to help. Would definitely eat there again, really enjoyed the meal and time out with friends.
Food: Top notch Malaysian Chinese!
Service: Hit n miss. But mostly okay. Boss lady is friendly.
Ambience: Not too bad but harder with children.
Value: Bang for buck
😱Lizzie’s first impression: Quick, easy and delicious soup.
🍩Lizzie enjoyed: I love coming here to order the six pieces of stuffed tofu with noodle soup. It really reminds me of home. The idea is that you select 6 of the vegies stuffed tofus of your choice and they will cook it up in the clear noodle soup that honestly tastes delicious.
🍅Lizzie did not enjoy: It’s not a fancy restaurant but it has renovated and looks way better than it used to.
🥇Lizzie rates overall: love this spot so much for an easy lunch
Hearty Malaysian Food.
We went here for a Christmas eve dinner and came quite late so we called in advance and they were so accommodating! The place wasn't the fanciest but well kept.
Had stir-fried seafood kwetiauw, beef rendang nasi lemak, chicken feet dry noodle, hainanese chicken rice, and combination laksa and they were all delish. YES I am pretty damn impressed. I think you wouldn't go wrong with anything really, judging from my experience there. Portion was satisfying, waiting time wasn't long and food was delish. How I hope this place is close to me :')
But yes do check it out, perfect place for malay food!

Home to the best Yong To Fu in Melbourne! Yong To Fu is stuffed vegetable with fish paste.
This place never dissappoints. This family owned joint serves authentic Malaysian food at its best. From their ala carte items to dishes on the menu.Had their yong tofu and it was so good, you get a choice to select your own soup based (clear soup, tom yum and curry) and your choice of noodles. I would always go for the curry soup based and it is amazing. The yong tofu choices are good and it goes really well with the soup and noodles
Be sure to try their combination seafood noodles as they are really good.
great places to order dishes to share with rice! not quite a fan of their individual dishes - prefer laksa king’s individual dishes.
these dishes are great!
cantonese pork chop
cereal prawns
yam ring chicken
homemade egg tofu
beef rendang
My score 4.25 stars (this is a composite of 2 reviews). J and I had lunch here on Tue 9th of July.
I had Yong Tofu ($13.80) and I chose this combo: Curry soup, medium spicy, very curryish, quite salty. Nice and aromatic. Gritty down bottom of bowl. Hokkien noodles, plenty of them and held texture till the bowl was empty. 1 x chive fishcake (lesser), 1 x fish chinese donut (YUM), 1 x flat beancurd stuffed with fish (YUM), 1 x prawn dumpling (ok), 1 x tofu-stuffed beancurd (nice), 1 x pork and prawnball thingie (quite good , not too meaty).
J also had Yong Tofu: Curry soup. Rice noodles, plenty, silky but nice (maybe a bit soft, esp by the end of the bowl). 3 x tofu-stuffed beancurd (nice), 1 x chive fishcake (salty, a bit fishy, firm to the bite), 1 x vegetarian prawn (nice), 1 x beancurd fishball (light and fluffy and very nice, would have more next time). Both bowls had bok choy bits, beanshoots and fried shallots (sprinkled on top).
Service friendly. Atmosphere relaxed. Their spoons have a hook so it doesn’t slide into your soup (FAB)! Very filling and very tasty! Would have given 4.5, but is a little dearer than laksa’s round the corner (which are great too).
10months ago. J and I had lunch here for the first time. Not as busy as CL or LK, darker and less modern interior. We ordered a Yong Tofu and a Nasi Lemak w chicken curry.
The Nasi Lemak was better at both CL and LK round the corner – the serve was the least generous of the 3 places and the chicken was dry (major disappointment, as it’s one of my all time fav dishes).
The Yong Tofu was fab (good for vegetarians/pescatarians)! We probably blitzed 4 out of the 6 stuffed tofu - wouldn’t have the capsicum or eggplant again (a little bland). Worth visiting just for the Yong Tofu!
