I like spicy ramen and the spicy ramen in here are certainly not that spicy. Having said that I do love the noodles and egg here and the tangy soup w pork and fish is pretty darn good. If I don't feel like a spicy ramen I would certainly come here rather than Hakata
Personally i believe this place is a must go place for japanese ramen craving ppl! So far i found it the best in Melbourne. When tsukemen was available (ramen with dipping sauce), i reli went there a lot to dine out there- sadly it is not available yet :(
My favourite is donkotsu original. My hub likes godfire level 2. :)
The Ramen and Gyoza here are amazing! My favourite place to eat when I go into the city. The customer service here is great also very welcoming and helpful! Would recommend.
Good ramen stop. The tonkotsu - pork broth ramen is creamy, rich & flavoursome. Maybe more chashu would be better, I added an egg for $2. I don't usually like thin noodles but it is actually quite light & nice. Some of us went for extra serving of noodles but I think their portion size is spot on for me. The tsukemen - dipping noodles are much thicker but I prefer my ramen hot.
I've never had the ramen before, but their new lunch special dons at $8.80 is what drew me in; an extra $2 gets you a set with miso soup, chawanmushi (savoury egg custard dish), yellow radish, a salad and two watermelon slices and an orange slice (that's a lot!). The kakuni don is seriously tasty, very authentic and great portions at a reasonable price. They earned themselves a new regular with this new menu; I highly recommend this set for a very satisfying lunch!
Tis the season to slurpppppp away. The wintery cold lends itself to perfect soupy noodle weather and one of my favourite kind to tuck into is ramen. With some of my fondest ramen memories taking place in Japan, I’m always excited for the opening of a ramen eatery with roots in Japan. Along came Ramen Bankara; a ramen franchise with over 30 locations in Japan and has gone on to open up stores in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and now Australia.
Definitely do the spicy chuka soba premium! Had it a couple times and always so satisfied! The braise pork is just the best part of this place! Had tried other broth but it was too heavy and oily so I always just go for the spicy chuka. It's awesome!

I've done a review of this place before. I was disappointed at their tonkotsu ramen. This time i've decided to order the premium "bankara" (shoyu) ramen. To my surprise, this is actually good. The broth is thick and amazing with a hint of sweetness. Unfortunately the noodle feels like instant ramen. And the chasiu / kakuni isn't soft enough. But this definitely worth another visit for the shoyu broth.
I've been here several times for the good ramen and reasonable price. The soup is delicious from which you can taste the time spent on it. The tofu is also very nice, and there is four kinds of topping on it. Very $20 you spent can be exchanged to one credit, and u can get free dishes according to how much credit u have.
