Unfortunately we arrived at Milkcow just before they closed so they'd run out of the funkier mixes but we were still lucky enough to try out the honey comb. Although it was just the plain vanilla soft serve with streaks of honey and a chunk of honey comb, everything about it was pretty much spot on and if you like honey, you will LOVE the honey comb!
Dirty Boba Ice Cream : 😍 Amazing
Watermelon Sandwich : 😍 Amazing
Just casually walking past when a poster of a fat watermelon with soft serve ice cream piled on the top caught my eye. Do not underestimate the size of this thing and definitely bring a friend so you can have more of what milkcow have to offer. Milk Tea lovers must get the brown sugar boba ice cream. Packed with sticky syrup and pearls, it makes the perfect summer treat.
There's nothing better than when the weather warms up enough to start enjoying icecream. There is something that takes you back to your childhood every time you enter an icecream shop, and Milkcow really knows how to capitalise on those childhood memories. With the coolest looking sundaes, covered in fairy floss, sprinkles and all sorts of toppings; they really do catch your eye.
The shop has a pretty area at the rear if you want to dine in. All decked out in pastel colours, soft woods and marble tabletops, and a cool pop of neon on the wall.
We decided on the Black Pearl and a new concoction that had pistachios, honey and baklava. It was probably called Baclava. The black pearl had heaps of chocolate sauce and scorched almonds, which really appealed to me. It was divine, but quite rich. The almonds are so delicious and they went really well with the chocolate sauce.
The baklava was heavenly. With so many pistachios and honey, and a cute puff pastry palmier; this really was a great combination of flavours and textures. A really good option for summer.
The ice cream itself is silky and creamy, and reminiscent of soft serve I had years ago. Service was quick and friendly, and I will definitely return to Milkcow to try more flavours.
Originating from South Korea and dominating the rest of Asia (and even the States) with its deliciously unique flavours and toppings combined with a fetchingly cute marketing prose of all-natural Australian milk and honeycomb sourced from Berringa, Milkcow is the place to go if you’re after something that’s sweet but still light on the body, mind, and soul.
Reflecting the soft serve’s fun and vibrant flavours is the fun interior that’s decorated with white walls, seats and tables, bright lights and a giant red neon sign that reads ‘FULL OF THE GOOD STUFF’, which is true, because Milkcow truly delivers with all the good stuff.
The outside of the store, which was supposedly a temporary pop-up can’t be missed, the bright lights stand out during the evening hours against its neighbouring competition with an outline of a soft serve in a cup with little honeycomb crumbles. It’s both childish and enticing, luring individuals of all ages to stand outside for a few minutes looking at the flavour displays before stepping instead to an ambient surrounding to place an order.
With Korean pop music playing in the background, ordering becomes an obstacle with the vast variety of flavours and toppings to choose from – and Milkcow has delivered with adapting to the Australian/Melbourne market, with something for everyone. From the original milk way to an avalanche (that’s coffee based!), you’ll become a child-at-heart with the impending topping choices that include honeycomb pieces, jellybeans, Fleur del Sel artisan sea salt (yes you read right), French macarons, caramel popcorn, and the list goes on. What’s even better is that the prices are reasonable enough that you’d want to come back for seconds, and thirds, fourths, and still not be sick from the creamy yet so delightfully healthy soft serve.
So if you’re after something on the sweet side, but still want to stay on the good side, Milkcow is definitely a dessertery you should visit. You won’t forget it.
Milkcow
Milkcow has various delicious flavors to try. I have tried their honeycomb, matcha, candy, chocolate brownie and boba flavors, each of them tasted amazingly unique!
The price is good for the portion size as well.
Such a great option for hot days in Melbourne.
I will definitely be back for more, especially in the summer 😋
A really cute looking place with interesting flavours. I was tempted to try their Freaking Hot Ice-Cream but ended up getting their Dirty Boba. Glad that I go the dirty boba - tasted like the actual brown sugar drinks. Definitely recommend this place!
This place is really cute and constantly coming up with new and funky desserts. I ordered the tiramisu ice cream and it was good but I wouldn’t get it again just because it was just alright. i applaud them for the crazy things they are making though! Should give it a try
❤️ dirty boba sundae ($6.50)
👍 fast service; delicious soft serve that’s very rich and creamy; great brown sugar sauce
👎 cramped atmosphere; boba pearls was too hard
🕓 not busy at 9pm
Great variety of soft serve desserts - Thai milk tea, brown sugar milk tea and tiramisu flavours were very nice and full of flavour. tiramisu was surprisingly very tasty with a faint bitterness #also comes with a crispy pastry
I love Milkcow! They have innovative combinations of flavours and their all important soft serve is always creamy but not too sweet.
For today, I had the black pearl. The chocolate sauce was decadent and the chocolate almonds were amazing. The whole package was a real winner.
Definitely will continue to visit Milkcow for my soft serve fix!
Here's my previous review:
Milkcow has great soft serve combined with various interesting toppings.
I had their Creme de Le Cookie which is just a fancy way of saying "soft serve with chocolate cookies on top".
The soft serve has a lovely firm consistency and is a lot creamier than other soft serves that I have tried. It is not too sweet, which is a plus, as the toppings add another level of sweetness.
This is a nice place for an after lunch/dinner dessert.
Creamy and not too sweet!! win - win. Unfortunately they had run out of some of the flavours but the caramel pop was awesome too! Will defo try other flavours next time.
UNICORN BURRITO 🦄😍
What else can I say but SUGAR overload!!!
Although there was a LOT of sweetness to this dish I did not feel sick after eating it most likely because I only ate half.
Personally loved it! 🌟🌟🌟
This place has some soft serve game going strong! From watermelon wedged soft serve, to gold leaf wrapped soft serve - this place has got some creative juices going!
My favorite is just the really plain no topping milk soft serve from them. It's very smooth, creamy and the taste is just very very milky. Really delicious quality soft serve
I just had to try the watermelon soft serve and don't be put off by the $10 price tag, the portion is huge and is enough to feed 2-3. The watermelon was sweet and crunchy and the soft serve was the perfect companion. Will definitely be back to try the other desserts!
Tiramisu Ice cream
One of my favourite desserts is Tiramisu! When I saw this on the menu I died of excitement. The Tiramisu flavour was strong but mixed with the milky ice cream it was perfect! I liked how they put a bit of sponge cake at the bottom, made it taste extra yummy. 100% recommend if coffee flavoured ice cream is your thing. I can’t wait to try out more of their ice cream flavours.

This is an interesting place to visit and as I've read on many posts - very Instagramable! Is that even a word. Yes, the creations are amazing but is that why you visit somewhere because it looks good in your feed? But I'm getting distracted. Let's get down to the review. I did love the watermelon ice cream on the hot day I visited. Unfortunately, I was disappointed the with portion sizes. If you have dietary issues, don't worry, they can accommodate you - just let them know. And for those that like organise - the soft serve is delicious plus they have organic milkshakes, coffees and teas. Oh, la la! You can even get 24k gold leaf cone filled with your ice cream for a mere $10!!! Prices are reasonable although $7.50 for a sundae is still expensive in my book when you can get a magnum icecream for half that. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly - in fact, very kid friendly. They'll love this place. Pram and stroller accessible. Tram stop right out the front.
I’m not a massive ice cream fan but I found the Baklava Ice Cream delicious.
They had other interesting desserts that I would like to try in the future so I will definitely be going back.
Light and not too sweet. Visited Milkcow two days in a row during my 3 day trip to Melbourne. Would love to return for their other flavours 😜
The ice cream is creamy and delicious, we chose one that comes with a lot of chocolate toppings and fairy floss. The place is cute and very instagramable, the service is good too.
Milkcow has an instagramable atmosphere. They have hopped on the current food trends, including the unicorn buritto. We tried some of their soft serves and they did not disappoint. Pictured is the tirimasu, but the matcha and affogato flavours both delivered. Highly recommend
Cute and innovative soft-serve ice cream 🍦 shop. A little bit on pricey side but they always come up with idea that make me to spend my money to them!
Will I be back? Yes!
I just went there and got two ice creams and one of them is the famous one that with 24k gold on it. OMG ILOVE THR FLAVOUR and both of the ice creams taste really delicious and full of milky. Oh and I also love the place! Hope I can try all the flavours one day hahaha
Cute ice cream and drinks cafe. They offer a lot of different varieties of soft serve. Great pit stop if you’re wanting to just sit and chill from the hustle and bustle of Melbourne.
Just amazing!!!
Tucked away on Swanson street this tiny little place is such a pleasant surprise
The menu is very imaginative and the ice cream is so very fresh
Any place that makes my child smile the way she did is definitely worth a visit
Tried their milky honey ice cream which was a sweet and refreshing pairing of flavors. Great for people who have a sweet tooth like me. Also friendly staff members and a calm and soothing ambiance too!
Haven't been here a while, came back today and was not disappointed! They make the best ice creams in Melbourne CBD! A very clean and quiet environment along with friendly and efficient staff. Definitely will come again and enjoy some nice milkshakes and ice creams!
Great soft serve ice cream. I ordered the matcha flavour and really liked how they paired it with Oreo! The girl who served us was also very nice and friendly. Wish the sizes were a little bigger, especially for the price (the cup was smaller than I expected) but this is a really cute place to go as the atmosphere is nicely designed with a pink neon sign and marble tables.
Was looking around for a dessert and this was a close by option which was open at 7. They've got a nice seating area for about 10 people and a calm environment compared to the chaos outside it.
Ordered the snow cone which consists of a vanilla ice cream on tasty jellybeans covered in a big fluff of cotton candy. Quite tasty it was, and the plain vanilla experience was certainly elevated by the presence of jelly beans. Not a bad treat at all for $6 and two could easily share it.
the oreo milkshake was really really good! not too rich, but delicious, and quite light from its bubbly consistency. loved it, would defs come back to curb that milkshake craving! a bit pricey but worth it :)
Was thinking only Japan made mesmerising stuff like this, until I stepped into Milkcow! What a delight to have on a hot summer day!! Mango and watermelon are my two current favourites this season.
Absolutely loved it! It tastes as good as it looks but you need to make sure you order the right speciality when here go for the speciality only.
After a super fulfilling dinner, strangely I was still craving dessert 😂 just went for the classic milky way which had no toppings or fillings 💓 the ice cream was lusciously thick and creamy omg definitely excited to try the others! 👍

Milkcow is a small ice cream shop opposite to QV on Swanston street. It somehow has a korean cafe vibe.
They have varieties of ice cream in cone, cup or even serve with watermelon.
We tried the Limited edition Bacon, it was very interesting how ice cream and bacon can blend well together. We would love to try more flavours this summer.
The staff was very lovely too!
This place is one of the most innovate dessert joints in Melbourne! I tried their newly launched 24K Gold Leaf Ice-Cream today - pure awesomeness! Would highly recommend people to get in - the staff working told us that they will be donating a portion of sales to Liptember!
I have been meaning to try this franchise from Korea for ages but with so many choices in Melbourne I never got around to it. Finally I got to try it today! I got the matcha one: the ice cream was soo creamy and the matcha was a nice flavour and the Oreo added texture. I can’t wait to try the others. I think for me personally I might be going to aquaS a lot less.
Ok so having the dessert from milk cow was indeed a very unique experience. First of all it was enough and it took some time for me to finish it off. A pure cream inside the watermelon slice was just amazing. The tartar offered by the cream and sweetness of the watermelon complemented each other.... A must try dessert for everyone
🍦➕🍉=😍 We had to try Milkcow Australia latest creation MANGO soft serve watermelon ice cream with chocolate chip seeds!
Well if watermelon’s your thing, you’re gonna love this, Korean ice-cream legends Milkcow limited-edition watermelon ice-cream sandwich.
it’s a huge slice of watermelon, hollowed out and filled with vegan, dairy-free ice-cream, then sprinkled with a little pink Himalayan rock salt with choc-chip seeds for the added touch. They also now have other flavours like mango , the store is cosy and staff are super friendly great atmosphere and great location in the cbd

I previously tried Milkcow in Singapore and didn't particularly enjoyed it. Hence I was a bit hesitant to relieve my experience again, but my friend was attracted to the watermelon soft serve sandwich and wanted to give it a go. I'm glad that I let her have her way.
The watermelon soft serve sandwich was much bigger than expected, and was enough to be shared between 2-3. The pairing of the tarty mango soft serve and the sweet and juicy watermelon was amazing, and it was a very light and refreshing dessert.
The Matcha De La Cookie comprised of original soft serve, matcha and cookie crumbs. The texture of the soft serve was smooth and creamy, and the combination of flavours were delicious.
The skinny latte was surprisingly good, and was perfect for a cold winter's night.
Both the staffs on duty were lovely and very patient while waiting for us to decide what we wanted to order. A bit pricey for ice cream, but definitely worth trying out if you have a sweet tooth like me.
very friendly and efficient staff, the ice cream was great and reasonably priced. love going there in summer especially and will definitely be returning next summer.
Ice cream was great quality and you can make your own however that can be expensive. The cookies in cream one is also very nice. Big servings you get a lot of icecream
We stopped by here on a super hot Summer day last month,
We had a very nice server whom we told that it would be our first time trying out Milk Cow so he topped off our Ice-cream with a super HUGE CLOUD of Cotton Candy! It was beautifully sweet and reminded me of my childhood. The cotton candy was so big that even split between two people, it was too much.
The ice-cream itself - we got the Milky Way- was incredibly light and refreshing, I cannot wait to try a new flavor next time!
The only place I know that does Organic Milk Ice-cream and Desserts is Milkcow!
The two most popular flavours are the Creme De La Cookie and the Milky Cube! My personal favourite would be the Milky Cube as it has their signature honey comb wedge, which is sweet as and super tasty. The Creme De La Cookie does get pretty messy at time, so be careful not to drop oreo sand on yourself!
Perfect place for a light snack at an affordable price! Just eat it and feel happy!
Tried this place for the first time.
The ambiance is great, the staff are friendly and the desserts are delicious.
I would recommend that you try their watermelon ice cream.
Best tasting soft serve I have eaten in a while! The milky flavour of the soft serve was delicious, and the macaron was great. Well presented, and very satisfying.
Really great ice-cream joint that I just discovered. Asked the staff and only realised that they've been open for about a year now. Highly recommended.
We got there at 10pm and they sold out of the watermelon flavour within a watermelon slice! The watermelon softserve sufficed on its own. Not too sweet, but it melted really fast! Good place to satisfy a sweet tooth craving!
Slightly steep for a soft serve but its good in a milky kinda way and the drizzle of honey makes you feel like you are eating something quite wholesome. I like it!
had a really draining day so i decided to grab w chai latte at milkcow. friendly staff and the drink was made perfectly well! It wasnt too hot nor too cold. also went with my friends last time and the matcha ice cream was delicious
It’s my first time here, had walked past it often but kept thinking it’s just another hype. This evening their Watermelon Ice Cream limited edition caught my eyes. And yes it was not disappointing at all. Very refreshing and melt nicely in your mouth
Located just opposite QV, and beside ShareTea. It’s really easy to find. Personally love their honey cube soft serve, the bomb 🍯❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
GREAT DESSERT PLACE! The Asian girl with glasses working Friday evening is the nicest and kindest server ever and the watermelon ice cream was the best :) 5/5!
Yummy ice cream and great ambience. I just wish they had better options. It's mostly vanilla ice cream with a few toppings. Had the toppings been more it would have been better.
My third time with their ice cream and will definitely come back. Basically, it just soft served ice cream but made from organic milk and soooooo creamy. After trying their ice cream in both stores, I personally recommend to try the one in the Aviary (Collins St). There's a difference in the texture I guess.
Milkcow is surprisingly good! After trying HoneyCreme in Sydney, I came down to Melbourne thinking it would be something similar... but I have to say, the ice-cream that Milkcow makes is so much more creamier and dense! The honey ontop is the perfect addition to balance the milky-goodness of the ice-cream.

After seeing some negative comments below on their watermelon ice-cream, I thought I should write my own review as it was actually really good. My friend and I both loved the presentation and flavour. Tasted like watermelon bubblegum.
They say Ice Cream is the fastest way to a persons heart. Lol just joking, anyone that says that obviously doesn’t know a thing about anatomy. But what they do have a grasp on is just how good ice cream actually is! If you’re wondering what that rating is, pretty flipping tasty! And what a better example of ice cream to talk about than Milkcow Melbourne!
Such a great stop off spot for something sweet! 💕 Had both their infamous watermelon 🍉 and also tried out their ‘avalanche’ affogato ☕️ which was cleverly named as it definitely became a sticky avalanche when you pour the coffee into the fairy floss! Well worth it though! Just a super busy location - however, that’s expected in the city! Keep it up! 👍🏻🎉🌈
i tried the soft serve in the watermelon dessert, which i think is only available for a limited time. the staff here were nice and the service was fast. the atmosphere of this place is nice too, it's decorated well however it does run a little small. the dessert however, was not worth the $10. the soft serve tasted like cough syrup and was placed in a thin paper bowl which did not really help it from not falling over or dripping everywhere.

I really loved the watermelon with strawberry soft serve ice cream. Very creative and insta-worthy. Taste was good but not amazing. Their usual classic ice creams are always good though!
Really Nice place, The atmosphere is nice, modern and clean, the staff is also really nice. Now to talk about the ice cream, it's so smooth, soft and creamy has that unique Real Milk taste, their Tiramisu Ice cream is also really nice. I can recommend this place to anyone, probably the best Ice-Cream branch in Melbourne.
Soft serve with a choice of toppings in cone or in a cup. I had it in a cup. Very small spoon meant that you need to take your time to enjoy. They have a table on the street.

Located on busy Swanston Street, this little shop serves a range of ice creams. Theres the $10 24 karat soft serve in a cone that looks amazing. Theres lots of toppings including boba, chocolate, various fruits and mint. You need to order at the counter before the staff let you sit down. The ice cream itself is creamy and tasty. Toppings are fresh and the staff are quick with service. The price is average for the portion size.
Nice little place for dessert. The matcha and cookie sundae is divine — not too sweet. We also tried the watermelon slice with watermelon soft serve. This was really sweet and couldn’t finish by ourselves. The seeds in the watermelon were actually chocolate! Just be mindful that they close the seating area about 30 minutes before their actual closing time!
