Unfortunately we arrived at Milkcow just before they closed so they'd run out of the funkier mixes but we were still lucky enough to try out the honey comb. Although it was just the plain vanilla soft serve with streaks of honey and a chunk of honey comb, everything about it was pretty much spot on and if you like honey, you will LOVE the honey comb!
Dirty Boba Ice Cream : đ Amazing
Watermelon Sandwich : đ Amazing
Just casually walking past when a poster of a fat watermelon with soft serve ice cream piled on the top caught my eye. Do not underestimate the size of this thing and definitely bring a friend so you can have more of what milkcow have to offer. Milk Tea lovers must get the brown sugar boba ice cream. Packed with sticky syrup and pearls, it makes the perfect summer treat.
There's nothing better than when the weather warms up enough to start enjoying icecream. There is something that takes you back to your childhood every time you enter an icecream shop, and Milkcow really knows how to capitalise on those childhood memories. With the coolest looking sundaes, covered in fairy floss, sprinkles and all sorts of toppings; they really do catch your eye.
The shop has a pretty area at the rear if you want to dine in. All decked out in pastel colours, soft woods and marble tabletops, and a cool pop of neon on the wall.
We decided on the Black Pearl and a new concoction that had pistachios, honey and baklava. It was probably called Baclava. The black pearl had heaps of chocolate sauce and scorched almonds, which really appealed to me. It was divine, but quite rich. The almonds are so delicious and they went really well with the chocolate sauce.
The baklava was heavenly. With so many pistachios and honey, and a cute puff pastry palmier; this really was a great combination of flavours and textures. A really good option for summer.
The ice cream itself is silky and creamy, and reminiscent of soft serve I had years ago. Service was quick and friendly, and I will definitely return to Milkcow to try more flavours.
Originating from South Korea and dominating the rest of Asia (and even the States) with its deliciously unique flavours and toppings combined with a fetchingly cute marketing prose of all-natural Australian milk and honeycomb sourced from Berringa, Milkcow is the place to go if youâre after something thatâs sweet but still light on the body, mind, and soul.
Reflecting the soft serveâs fun and vibrant flavours is the fun interior thatâs decorated with white walls, seats and tables, bright lights and a giant red neon sign that reads âFULL OF THE GOOD STUFFâ, which is true, because Milkcow truly delivers with all the good stuff.
The outside of the store, which was supposedly a temporary pop-up canât be missed, the bright lights stand out during the evening hours against its neighbouring competition with an outline of a soft serve in a cup with little honeycomb crumbles. Itâs both childish and enticing, luring individuals of all ages to stand outside for a few minutes looking at the flavour displays before stepping instead to an ambient surrounding to place an order.
With Korean pop music playing in the background, ordering becomes an obstacle with the vast variety of flavours and toppings to choose from â and Milkcow has delivered with adapting to the Australian/Melbourne market, with something for everyone. From the original milk way to an avalanche (thatâs coffee based!), youâll become a child-at-heart with the impending topping choices that include honeycomb pieces, jellybeans, Fleur del Sel artisan sea salt (yes you read right), French macarons, caramel popcorn, and the list goes on. Whatâs even better is that the prices are reasonable enough that youâd want to come back for seconds, and thirds, fourths, and still not be sick from the creamy yet so delightfully healthy soft serve.
So if youâre after something on the sweet side, but still want to stay on the good side, Milkcow is definitely a dessertery you should visit. You wonât forget it.
Milkcow
Milkcow has various delicious flavors to try. I have tried their honeycomb, matcha, candy, chocolate brownie and boba flavors, each of them tasted amazingly unique!
The price is good for the portion size as well.
Such a great option for hot days in Melbourne.
I will definitely be back for more, especially in the summer đ
A really cute looking place with interesting flavours. I was tempted to try their Freaking Hot Ice-Cream but ended up getting their Dirty Boba. Glad that I go the dirty boba - tasted like the actual brown sugar drinks. Definitely recommend this place!
This place is really cute and constantly coming up with new and funky desserts. I ordered the tiramisu ice cream and it was good but I wouldnât get it again just because it was just alright. i applaud them for the crazy things they are making though! Should give it a try
â¤ď¸ dirty boba sundae ($6.50)
đ fast service; delicious soft serve thatâs very rich and creamy; great brown sugar sauce
đ cramped atmosphere; boba pearls was too hard
đ not busy at 9pm
Great variety of soft serve desserts - Thai milk tea, brown sugar milk tea and tiramisu flavours were very nice and full of flavour. tiramisu was surprisingly very tasty with a faint bitterness #also comes with a crispy pastry
I love Milkcow! They have innovative combinations of flavours and their all important soft serve is always creamy but not too sweet.
For today, I had the black pearl. The chocolate sauce was decadent and the chocolate almonds were amazing. The whole package was a real winner.
Definitely will continue to visit Milkcow for my soft serve fix!
Here's my previous review:
Milkcow has great soft serve combined with various interesting toppings.
I had their Creme de Le Cookie which is just a fancy way of saying "soft serve with chocolate cookies on top".
The soft serve has a lovely firm consistency and is a lot creamier than other soft serves that I have tried. It is not too sweet, which is a plus, as the toppings add another level of sweetness.
This is a nice place for an after lunch/dinner dessert.

This is an interesting place to visit and as I've read on many posts - very Instagramable! Is that even a word. Yes, the creations are amazing but is that why you visit somewhere because it looks good in your feed? But I'm getting distracted. Let's get down to the review. I did love the watermelon ice cream on the hot day I visited. Unfortunately, I was disappointed the with portion sizes. If you have dietary issues, don't worry, they can accommodate you - just let them know. And for those that like organise - the soft serve is delicious plus they have organic milkshakes, coffees and teas. Oh, la la! You can even get 24k gold leaf cone filled with your ice cream for a mere $10!!! Prices are reasonable although $7.50 for a sundae is still expensive in my book when you can get a magnum icecream for half that. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly - in fact, very kid friendly. They'll love this place. Pram and stroller accessible. Tram stop right out the front.
I really loved the watermelon with strawberry soft serve ice cream. Very creative and insta-worthy. Taste was good but not amazing. Their usual classic ice creams are always good though!
Really Nice place, The atmosphere is nice, modern and clean, the staff is also really nice. Now to talk about the ice cream, it's so smooth, soft and creamy has that unique Real Milk taste, their Tiramisu Ice cream is also really nice. I can recommend this place to anyone, probably the best Ice-Cream branch in Melbourne.
Soft serve with a choice of toppings in cone or in a cup. I had it in a cup. Very small spoon meant that you need to take your time to enjoy. They have a table on the street.

Located on busy Swanston Street, this little shop serves a range of ice creams. Theres the $10 24 karat soft serve in a cone that looks amazing. Theres lots of toppings including boba, chocolate, various fruits and mint. You need to order at the counter before the staff let you sit down. The ice cream itself is creamy and tasty. Toppings are fresh and the staff are quick with service. The price is average for the portion size.
Nice little place for dessert. The matcha and cookie sundae is divine â not too sweet. We also tried the watermelon slice with watermelon soft serve. This was really sweet and couldnât finish by ourselves. The seeds in the watermelon were actually chocolate! Just be mindful that they close the seating area about 30 minutes before their actual closing time!
