Stopped off for a quick bite to eat. Grabbed a chicken & pesto panini with avocado. Nicely toasted & very generous size for $11.50. Tasty with lots of fresh filling. Great range of other cabinet food & also a nice menu.
Had garlic bread and Spaghetti Carbonara. Served quickly by friendly staff. Nice decor and atmosphere. Food was lovely, we enjoyed our experience here.
Used a groupon deal. The food was truly amazing, and definitely an excellent deal for the price paid. We choose the seafood platter, the duck and ham pizza. The staff were helpful and I would recommend this place to everyone. I will be back for sure!
Nice spot to celebrate Melbourne's coffee culture. If you have someone new into town who wants to see what Melbourne's coffee culture is all about, I reckon you could do worst than taking them to Café Chinotto. The flat white I had from here was up to Melbourne standards -- full-flavoured and nicely microfoamed. The server got it to me quick, although it was a slow mid-arvo period, so the barista wasn't stressed. Desgraves Laneway has a better choice of cafes than does "Fred" (Flintstone) Square, but if you want to sup a cuppa in the dead centre of this town, it doesn't get more centrist than this. Depending on where you sit, you can get a view of the Yarra or the skyscraper-scape to the south. And since you're in the middle of the rust-coloured caveman architectural monstrosity, you hardly even notice it! It's not like looking in from the outside, where you can't ignore it. Fine place for people-watching, too, if you like to squizz the visitors outside the theatre.
Really love it!. This is a great little cafe for an early dinner before a show or event in the sporting precinct. An easy walk from anywhere in the CBD. The salads are amazingly fresh and huge portion sizes. We've been multiple times as a couple or small group and while sometimes the service means you're looking around trying to catch someone's eye, you're not being pestered your entire meal. We continuously go back because the food is really great.
If you get the chance, ask for a bowl of chips too. Not on the menu, but beer battered and crispy and fantastic!
Food was great. Had gnocci with a tomato sauce which was delicious. The others I was with had duck pizza and sea bass. There was enough sea bass to feed a family! Good value for money too!
I went to cafe Chinotto last monday for breakfast and i've been really satisfied. Food was average but the price good. Our waitress was really polite and fast and coffee absolutely delicious. Atmosphere was good aswell.
I'll be back
We were a group of mums w prams, inside is small so we sat outside, staff willing to move tables, put the heater on and warm our bubs food up! Food and service was quick. Everyone was happy with their meals. A good cafe option for fed square, we will go back.
Unpretentious. Looking more like a (cheaper) coffee and cake place than a restaurant, Cafe Chinotto delivered unpretentious yet good and competitively priced food for Fed Square.
The pizza ($13) was tasty with a lovely thin base, the steak ($23) was perfectly cooked with adequate sides and the fish special ($24) was excellent. Way better than expected.
Great pizzas and Tacos, perfect for a quick bite in Fed Square on route to an event.
Tasty well made good strength coffee. Had a beef baguette. Nice rare beef. Well heated except it would be 5 of the salad wasn't cooked in the roll. Who likes warm salad?
We had lunch today, the best food, the best service and the best coffee!!
The French Toast was very good. Friendly staff and great service
