Its actually 4* for this place.. I have visited multiple times and had almost same things every time.. But at the first time I went for Butter Chicken, and I was like yessss thats the one pretty closest to what I always have in India.. I wont say best, as ideally it is not the best with in the town, but it is closest to the best one.

One Star that I have taken over, is for the consistency. When you as a restaurant are moving from best to authentic, please be consistent about taste. Specially sweetness level in Butter Chicken.

Aloo Tikki Chat, and Samosa Chat are really awesome Dishes.

Keep it up.

Had it for lunch today. Ordered double deal which come with 2 curries and papadum. I had mine with butter chicken and beef vindaloo and my partner had chicken tika masala and beef vindaloo. We enjoyed very much with our meal. The portions were generous and I couldn’t finish it because I was in food coma.

Will be back for sure!

Great food and good service. Naan are made on oder and number of choices of curries. Had veg biryani and double deal with daal and eggplant masala. That was really good in taste 👍

Amazing Butter chicken! the naan is also amazing. I would recommend this to anyone!
Tip: the small butter chicken is plenty, so I wouldn't bother getting a bigger size.

Did the whole food court lap and I really didn't know what I felt like eating. Wasn't sure on Bombay Bar and whether I would be satisfied but to be honest I actually really liked the curries I ordered.  I got the 2 curries with rice combo and I thoroughly enjoyed it.  The meat was nice and not fatty at all, the other curries looked good too.  My choice for tonight was the beef rogan josh and chicken tikka masala.

Bombay Duck is located in my favourite food court in Melbourne! The display of the food is slightly average but once handed to you, the food is very tasty and fresh. Have never had a bad meal and the meal sizes are very generous. Not very classy but pretty good for a food court meal.

Good Indian is hard to find in Melbourne. This is not too expensive. Full of flavor and the made to order roti system has made the meals so much nicer!

Really tasty, clean, great service. One of the better Indian restaurants in Melbourne. I had butter chicken, rice and naan which was freshly cooked and the best naan I've ever had!

A fantastic shop, with great food, great service and great pricing. I visited with 2 other friends, and got the two curries with rice and a serving of naan. It was delicious and also enough for us to share between 3! The naan was delicious and we all agreed that the butter chicken was AMAZING!!! Compared to everything else in the Emporium food court, these meals were cheap! Definitely going to come again and tell everyone I can about a excellent food court shop!

A great Indian eatery in the malls if you need a quick bite. The food is delicious and you get a good variety to choose from. I tried the samosas and onion bhaji, the samosa was delicious , came with mint sauce and tamarind chutney! Yum

My hunt for Indian restaurants is always on in Melbourne. After walking down CBD and depending on the unreliable google maps, we finally found this restaurant. We ordered chicken curry and rice and chicken tikka masala with naan. After like one month I could have that home made chicken taste on my taste buds. The food was fresh, perfectly spiced and it had that Indian curry colour that I was longing for.
It was definitely a good lunch. The hunt was worth it.

A very pleasant first visit to Bombay Duck this weekend. One of the prettiest stands in the Emporium Food Hall, let me tell you.

GOOD
+ Flavoursome food.
+ Very tender meat
+ Lovely steamed rice and poppadom.
+ Generous serving portions.
+ Variety of dishes to choose from, and some specials of the day on offer.
+ Good prices.
+ Nice staff.

SO-SO,
> OK plain naam.
> Tali not served in traditional tali trays. Why not? It is way better that way as the sauces don't mix as each dish has an independent receptacle. They wash well, don't break. Way better than a normal tray.
> No flexibility to adjust the tali. I didn't want rice, just one naam, but that wasn't possible so I ended leaving most of the rice untouched in my plate, and having to pay for an extra naam.
> Although very tasty food, the flavours were a bit  toned down.
> Salad was almost non-existent!

Not the best Indian in town, that is for sure, but good enough for a fast food outlet.

Best Indian food in the CBD hands down! And from a food court? Unbelievably happy I stumbled upon this gem. Fresh, genuinely authentic tasting food. Great value for money. Cannot stop telling everyone about the authenticity of their dishes, right from samosas, to the curries to the perfect biryani! And they also sell pani puris (North Indian street food), surely heaven cannot be a food court in the heart of the city? Well done, Bombay Duck, customer for life.

One of my go to places in the CBD. Great service as well as fast. The value is incredible. Excellent place for lunch that doesn't hit the pocket too much. The Butter Chicken is amazing, it has a lovely creamy taste to it.

Posted in Foodie by jacqfruit   Bombay Duck, Emporium Melbourne Upper Level food court, 287 Lonsdale st. As with a lot of the other eateries we’ve tried in the upper level food court at Emporium, Bombay Duck is above average when it comes to taste, quality and service of what you normally expect for food court fare! Definitely a fav for a warm, satisfying, winter work lunch. Also open for dinner! We ordered: – 3 curries with rice and naan bread (So good!!) – mango lassi (smooth and creamy) Service: – better than average food court service :) Ambience: – busy and lively Details: – Bombay Duck has their own seated section for customers which is a plus when looking for a seat in this busy area of Emporium Share this: Twitter Facebook Pinterest

Best Indian food I had in years! I honestly didn’t expect that from such a little place in the middle of a food court. Big portions for reasonable price and so tasty! The staff is very professional and lovely. 100 % worth it!

Decent place for a lunchtime pitstop during some shopping at Melbourne central. The curries are pretty flavourful (ordered the Chicken madras & eggplant masala) and the butter naans were good too. The lassi & gulab Jamuns were also tasty but the raita was way too sweet. Only downside was the portions being pretty small for how much you pay, definitely a bit overpriced

Indian restaurant. Good currys ready to eat. I ordered the lamb and pumpkin with both rice and naan which took about 10 minutes as it is mad to order depending on how hot you want it. I asked for hot and it was just right. Friendly service with a smile. Give it a try! Stopped by again now that the restrictions have come off. Staff not wearing masks, no QR codes or signing in. Seating area closed.
