Review Beatbox Kitchen - Melbourne

Andrew Fox
American Diner inspired décor burger lounge with booth seating & a table tennis table at the back of the restaurant anyone can play for free. Hot sauce & American mustard provided on the tables. Milkshakes are super thick and delicious, mushroom burger was amazing. Check it out if you're in the area.

I'm in love with those mini-cheese burgers. The lil cheese burger is little in size maybe but huge in flavour and awesomeness. Fluffy bun, awesome beef pattie, super yummy sauce and fresh pickles and onions. Reminds me of WHITE CASTLE. A Must Visit

Very clean and minimalist atmosphere; mimics the style of a no-frills American burger joint. Don’t expect friendly service, but great quality food. One of the best burgers I’ve had in Melbourne, I highly recommend!

Following the success of their very cool food truck, the guys at Beatbox Kitchen have opened a bricks and mortar store in Brunswick's busy Sydney Road. A very simple menu with some delicious options.

Beatbox Kitchen introduced me to the wonders of food trucks over 7 years ago and having the Raph burger again was very nostalgic. With the emergence of so many burger joints popping up in Melbourne I am happy to say the Raph burger is still one of the better burger around. The only downside is the patty is a tad on the salty side.

I just had a gluten free beef burger at a wedding that these guys were hired for. OMG! This is the best burger I’ve had in a few years. Thanks you so much I’m almost in tears! Thanks so much!

Very solid burger place. Their burgers are simple but very effective. The vibe here is cool too, with chilled out tunes and a table tennis table to have fun with while you wait for your order. For a small place, it's got a good variety of drink choices, with beers on tap and in cans too. If you're looking for a quality burger in Brunswick, hit this place up.

Top burger, juicy patty (although often overcooked), great chips and sauces, milkshakes are average but they're cheap so I dunno, I'd rather pay more for something killer. A great feed overall.

Best burgers in town have tried many places but this rates the best!
Great burger. Usually grab the Raph and its always good. The fries are fine but we come here for the burgers. The setting is pretty basic but its more a place where you grab your food smash it then take off.

Beatbox Kitchen is my OG Burger King. Even the initials hint it. In my eyes, they can do no wrong and after all these years, Beatbox Kitchen have proven once again that they are still as consistently amazing as ever.

The Raph Burger and the Shroom Burger both blew me away with their execution and incredible taste. Juicy, meaty (even the portobello mushroom exude its own kind of umami "meatiness") and just absolutely bursting with flavours. The skinny fries were hot and crispy, and didn't let me down a single bit.

There's also much to love about the service here. Such genuine warmth and so easy-going. Beatbox Kitchen is easily my favourite burger joint in Melbourne.

If there's a festival or event and there's food trucks - if BeatBox is there, I'm usually in the queue. I'm pretty basic so I go for the Raph. For a food truck burger, it's pretty good. Reliable product. Shoestring fries if you're interested.

When Raph Rashid opened the Beatbox Kitchen in 2009 it was one of Melbourne’s first food trucks, and one of the first places in town doing US-style burgers.

Veg supreme is top notch when you're seeking a traditional, "fast-food-style" burger without the meat. Not too greasy and good amount of veg. There's a reason Beatbox kitchen has blown up recently.

Tonight I was craving burgers so I decided to pay a visit to Beatbox Kitchen, a place I have had bookmarked for some time now. The restaurant is easy to find on Sydney Rd, you can't miss the Burger & Fries or Beatbox Kitchen sign out the front.

The high rating given by other diners is definitely worthy as my cheeseburger was really tasty and delicious. The patty was good and those buns... oh my gosh so fluffy and every bite was so good. Loved the pickles and sauce inside, I added some sriracha too for an extra kick.

Overall a good burger joint 😊

I love Beatbox and I don’t even like burgers. At least I didn’t till I tried the Raph burger. The pattie is always perfectly cooked and the sauce just completes it. So delicious

Food : Ralph burger. Meat patty cooked to perfection, nice balance with ingredients, sauce complemented nicely. Good size, satisfies without fries.
Service: Order at register, but comes to table.
Ambience: Bright, clean but very basic. Plenty of space.
Overall: Well priced but with limited menu. Would eat the Raph again.

Absolutely love the little cheesies here can’t fault them. Really small but definitely filling and with the buns baked fresh in store makes it that little more special.

my favourite burger of all time. first introduced to beatbox by the trucks and since then my life hasn’t been the same. i now just compare every burger to the raph (and nothing comes close). The restaurant bustles with the odd takeaway and delivery orders. It’s quite but i much prefer it over a crowded place. take every opportunity you get to eat at beatbox.
Food-is-life
My food truck experience with Beatbox kitchen changed my life. I never expected one of the best beef burgers my mouth and gut would ever encounter would be from a food truck. This positive experience continues each time I visit the store on Sydney Rd. Lovely staff, tasty burgers and sick background beats whilst you enjoy the fresh feast. My mate and I were treated to their homemade mustard and that was one of the most delish sauces I've ever tasted! Final note, it's nice to finally go to a burger joint and actually have a decent amount of jalapeños in it without having to pay another $3 for more. Love your work guys, cheers :)

Minimalistic, simple menu, boasts great flavour and a cool place to chill out.

If you guys did fresh lemonade, it would sell quickly in this heat.
Shroom burger and the cheese Burger was very amazing.
All for a fair price. What more do you want?

Glad to see the first original food truck open a shop in Brunswick. The Raph burger is Still my favorite burger of all time. Love the shoe string fries. Never disappoints especially after a boozy night out

Small little shop on a busy Sydney road. Not a busy shop at all. At the time I went (7:30pm), we were the only ones in there. We tried the Raph burger cause we wanted to keep it simple. The bun of the burger was flawless. Nice, soft, perfectly toasted and the cheese melted within the beef to make it soo flavoursome! Wasn't your typical burger drenched in oil which was a bonus! If you're around the area, it's definitely a go to!

Not quite the same vibe as the food truck but the burgers are equally fantastic. We get takeaway regularly from here (burgers, chips and chocolate sundae) and it's always a winner - delicious, fast, cheap!

I really liked it. I had the cheese burger & chips and loved it. For something so simple these guys have nailed it. Been there 4 times and the quality has been the same every time. Highly recommend.

Ordered a raph burger but they sent me a chilly billy instead. I rang up, only to be told there is nothing they can do about it and that i should Scrape the hot stuff off. No replacement, no refund no customer service! Had to deal with foodora to get my money back seriously reconsider ordering from beatbox poor customer service
Chardos

Hallelujah! Finally a bricks and mortar store for these Melbourne legends. Anyone who has been to a music festival over the last 5 years will be more than familiar with Beatbox from their food trucks. Fortunately they've kept their winning formula going here.

The Raph burger remains a classic, and still one of Melbourne's best. Thick juicy patty cooked medium rare, white bread bun (no brioche), with tasty cheese and simple toppings. The shop itself is simple with some really clever touches. A full array of sauces on each table is great, and the table tennis table out the back is perfect for a lazy Sunday.
Must Be Hungry
Finally there is another burger joint on Sydney rd. as until now the other options are not that good 😕.

Being a local, I appreciate variety but a decent burger in Brunswick was much needed, luckily I found the Beatbox🙌.

The venue itself is not impressive at all 😞 but the beats 🎧 and very friendly staff lifted the atmosphere up 🎚.

I ordered the Chilli Billy Burger and a serve of fries for a reasonable $18. The food arrived super quickly and as soon as the burger 🍔 was in front of me I started devouring it. Juicy and real meat, great sauces and just the perfect combo of flavours 😍

The downsides: the fries 🍟 were cold 😨, there is no bacon on the menu (I love my bacon) and the bread is meant to be baked in house but comes from a plastic bag 🤔 . In all honesty though, they were really under the pump and these minor details didn't affect the overall experience.

Beatbox Kitchen you gained a new burger regular! Thank you for having me 🙏 I look forward to bringing down the boys!

Ps. You can burn the calories with their 🏓 table tennis 😎

Good burger and milkshake. Thoroughly enjoyed and also good value. The people were pretty welcoming and the service was good, I will go back at some point. Right on.

The Beatbox shroom burger is far and away the best vegetarian burger I have ever had. A few times I've found there to not be enough mushrooms and therefore the burger wasn't as wet as it needs to be but these are mere occasional quibbles, honestly, it's the freaking best.

Chips are shoestring fries, fried well and with normal salt. Nothing fancy, no beer batter or chicken salt (thank god!), just fries done to perfection.

If there's a better veg burger out there I'd like to try it.

Great burgers! Tasty as anything I've tasted in Melbourne and you don't feel like greasy and dirty afterwards! Certainly would recommend to anyone burger lover!

I really wanted to love this place... the service was lovely and the way they have designed the space is great but I can't say I loved the food. I had the vege burger, the shroom burger (we ordered an extra burger once we realised the left side of menu was mini burgers), and fries. I enjoyed the shroom burger the most, normally I'm not a fan of portobello mushrooms in burgers but it was well cooked and had a good flavour. Unfortunately the rest of the burger was a bit lacking in flavour, the vegan mayo mostly just tastes like mustard and I don't think there was any cheese in it. The vege burger had almost no flavour and fell apart almost instantly, and the chips were soggy. A big downside for me is they can make burgers vegan and have vegan sauce but it doesn't appear like they have vegan cheese, and after eating two burgers and half a fries (which all up cost a fair decent amount for the serving sizes) I was still hungry.
Hopefully it's mostly just teething issues and it will have picked up in a couple of months.

Visited the newly opened Beatbox Kitchen a week back to give it a go. I've had them from their food trucks a few times and found them to be pretty decent. So why not give the store a go. Service was great and I ordered the double Raph burger with some fries. Ordered a small fries but seemed like I got quite a lot for what I paid for (no complaints). The burger was tasty, the patties are quite large which is awesome. And adding Jalapeños is free. It still had that unique Beatbox Kitchen flavour to it that stands out from a lot of other burger places around. It was good but having Royal Stacks just a block away would give them pretty tough competition. I'd gladly return.

great burger, nicely cooked and pink in the middle, great flavours...tip, the guys working the counter are unwelcoming and don't even say hello, rather giving you death stares, might want to speak with them about that..the young lady who served me was lovely.

Really nice burgers. Soft bun, juicy meat, nice sauce, good pickles. Fries are nothing incredible but are nice, thin and crispy as they should be to not detract from the burger. I had the Chilly Billy (probably not the best option when trying to assert the quality of a classic burger but it is what I was craving at the time) and I was very happy with it. I'll be coming back for a more classic burger for a better judgement but for now I'm very pleased (and scared at the same time) that this is so close to home!

The space is a bit empty (they've kinda just opened) and it lacks a bit of warmth. It's just a big empty hall at the moment but the place is clean (so is the restroom) and the burgers are worth a try for sure. We'll keep you posted as I'll definitely be coming back.
