I had a great time here. My partner and I personally don’t know a lot about cocktails, but had an excellent time conversing with the staff who were glad to show off drinks to us, thanks for the lovely time here :)

What a cute hidden bar in the town, very discreet but not too hard to locate! Love the atmosphere of the bar, music was nice too ! Would definitely come back soon
One of the best places in my opinion, to go to for a cocktail!
The bartender serves you personally and goes through the motion with you, keeping you engrossed in her work all the time. The prices are pretty standard at $20 for a glass but it is worth it.
The crowd comes in pretty late, and I guess most of them are bartenders who work around the area who crave for a knock off drink!
The only problem was finding the entrance at the side as captain Melville( lower level ) was closed.
If you like exploring for some hidden bars of Melbourne, the you need to make sure you tick this one off your list. A hidden bar within a pub can make it a little confusing to find, but it's worth it. with a nice atmosphere of various small rooms and an old world charm mixed with an ope veranda.. you can enjoy this bar in many different ways.
Tim is so handsome and his beard is trimmed. Nick has boyishly charming good looks. Phoebe (mermaid girl) is exquisitely beautiful! The drinks they serve are top notch!!! Highly recommend for a late night tipple :)

The key to my heart? Drinks at this cute little secluded spot. The cocktail list struck me as being fairly sour so I asked the bartender to create something sweeter which he happily obliged and I was very pleased with his concoction. This is a beautiful dimly lit bar that hardly anyone knows about full of secret little nooks and crannies. A little bit hipster, a little bit quaint, it's a wonderfully 'Melbourne' space with fantastic friendly staff that made the night
Great atmosphere and lovely friendly bartenders! Went with a couple of friends who were in town visiting and we had a great time until late! I love that the place is open all the way until 5am!
Loch & Key is a quaint rabbit warren-esque type of bar that's probably a little bigger than it seems. Dimly lit nooks and crannies, personable bartenders, decent cocktails and limited beers on tap.
On the list of to-go places, we finally got there a couple of months ago and have been returning ever since. Have been in on weeknights and weekends, with different types of patrons, quiet, busy, evening and later. Service has been consistent, polite and most often with a smile.
Love the Melbourne tradition of the hidden or more recently, establishment within an establishment setup. And that they're open extremely late, or early depending on which way you look at. Nice to see in Melbourne when the very late offerings are a little less than they used to be.
Hands down my favourite bar to go to, whether it's for kick ons or for a long night in. Incredible staff that love some banter and truly put on a show with their cocktails. Great place to take friends or to just meet people, and the staff and security are always looking after people and quick to remove problematic ones. Plus they offer blankets, hot water bottles and toasted sandwiches. What more could you want?
Such friendly staff! Cocktail selection changes every week. As a standard, staff make bespoke drinks upon request, or there's a neat little themed menu each week on pretty paper.
The venue is extremely cool. Lots of trinkets all around. Vintage meets cosy meets dimly lit meets great music.

Great place for late night drinks, friendly patrons and beyond helpful staff alongside a relaxing atmosphere, drinks at a little expense, but Locke & Key makes a perfect place for pre drinks or late night shenanigans. Great little bar in the heart of the CBD!
Lost my wallet here, and the fantastic bar staff went above and beyond to ensure I got it back. Classy bunch, particularly Sean and Carl. Otherwise great vibes, relaxed atmosphere, do yourself a favor and go here.
This is such a unique old bar that really stands out against the urban and modern surrounds. To get here you have to go through the main bar and upstairs to the cocktail lounge. The cocktails are around $20 each and they have no menu so be prepared to know what you want. The bartenders are experts and will help guide you.
One of my favourite places to go when everywhere else closes. Balcony is spacious and the atmosphere is great. Not the place to be if you enjoy a great selection of tap beers, but if you’re a fan of cocktails you’re in luck. Staff are lovely.
Although no longer hidden behind an old bookshelf at the top of some worn out stairs, Loch and Key does not disappoint in any way. Our pink haired bartender (Michelle) was great! Ask her about her 2nd place cocktail in Melbourne's latests cocktail competition. It was delicious! Beautiful patio, though not much of a view. There are a few side rooms for community type sitting. Definitely visit this tucked away, 1st floor bar, if you are in the area.
