đ±Lizzieâs first impression: Cosy, tasty fried chicken and space great for big grups.
đ©Lizzie enjoyed: I love coming back to this Gamis as it is underground and theres ample of seating. It is great for big groups thereâs an array of dishes to choose from. I love the soy garlic and sweet chilli flavours. A lot of my friends enjoy their OG fried chicken without flavour but I like a bit of sauce. They also do a great wedges plate with sour cream and sweet chilli â literally delicious.
đ
Lizzie did not enjoy: Service may be a bit slower when it is busy but their food quality is always up to scratch.
đ„Lizzie rates overall: I love coming back here time and time again â if only I didnât put on weight eating fried chicken all day.
Been ordering a lot from this place for dinner as it was close by and the boneless fried chicken were yummy. We usually get half half Original and sweet chilli sauce but it can get really salty. The sides they provided were nice - cabbage, radish and I love their Kim chi.
We weren't sure if we had the right place even though the sign was outside since the yellow door was closed. After opening it and heading down to the basement we arrived in the restaurant.
The menu had quite a selection of items but we came here to try one thing, the chicken and beer. We grabbed the G Beer Pale Ale and the boneless half soy garlic, half spicy, as well as the mandu. This was a lot of food for 2 people. The beer came with prawn crackers which I thought was really nice. The mandu was nice and crispy with a decent amount of filling. The chicken was quite nice. It was made from cuts from a whole chicken so I found some pieces really good while others were a bit dry. The spiciness was a good level as you could feel the heat and it wasn't too painful. Interestingly, the meals came with a salad that was dressed in tomato sauce.
Quite a nice meal here. I prefer thigh cuts as I find the breast ones a bit dry, even with the sauce but the crunchiness of the chicken was good. The other items on the menu also look tasty, like the cheese corn.
Nice place to eat. love the cold beer and spicy chicken. Well priced
The crispiest chicken you can find in Melbourne. The sauces are so true to Korean cuisine. My favourites are the pickled radishes!!
If you do not have great spice tolerance, do not try the spicy one because it's bloody spicy.
Yum yum yum.
Boneless fried chicken was so damn good and the beer on tap is also amazing.
The corn cheese is another hit and the fries were great. Great place to go to blow out on fried chicken
When it comes for Fried Chicken, this would be my place to go.
Not only the chicken is good, they also offer great house beer that goes really well with the chicken.
The original with salt & pepper is my fave.
The soy & garlic is my second choice.
Worth to try..!!
This place is great for takeaway but dining in a big group can be difficult as the place is quite small. the staffs are always friendly and greets upon entering. the chicken is always great here but the rice is quite hard and dry, it seems like the rice that they provide is a couple days old. so try to avoid ordering the rice if possible.
3.5 stars
Solid choice for chicken. Sauces are pretty good. The spicy and volcano options have a good kick. Side dish options are available but really it's mostly about the chicken.
They have cheap beer that goes well with the chicken.
Deduct half a star for terrible bathrooms.
This is to my new favorite fried chicken spot. A spooky entrance to a place with a bad ambience and the place seemed alittle understaffed.
However, we got their full chicken with the volcano and garlic sauces. The Korean fried chicken was perfectly cooked with a crunchy coating. The volcano sauce was one spicy sauce that leaves you wanting for more! It was so succulent and changed my definition of KFC! The garlic on the other hand didn't ooze out a garlicky flavor which was alittle disappointing.
Good food, good prices, will definitely hit this up for other flavors! Highly recommended!
Gami is incredible. Itâs made a name for itself here in Melbourne, and I think it deserves the hype. My go to is the original fried chicken, but the flavoured ones are great too. If you ever get a craving for Korean fried chicken, this is the place to hit up.
No one else gets marinated chicken right like Gami. I always go for their wings option with the sweet chilli and the soy option. Crunchy, full of flavor. I canât stop licking my fingers
Fabulous place to be with your mates. Killer vibes and even killer food. Their fried chicken is the best along with some Korean booze.
We ordered for a lot of food and needles to say finished the great piece of art made by their great chef
When craving for authentic KFC (Korean Fried Chicken), nothing will satisfy your insatiable hunger except Gami. Their branch in King Street boasts superior customer service and hip interior that will make you feel like you're in an industrial bar in Seoul.
They use a combination of breast and thigh fillets which translates into a perfect combination of flavours, unlike other restaurants who only use breast fillets.
Bottom line, if you're down for a chill friday night, head to Gami for a satisfying combination of Chicken and Beer.
Delicious fried chicken done well - I love their boneless spicy chicken and their corn cheese. One of my favourite chain restaurants for Korean fried chicken.
Food is good but the place is a little stuffy. I guess it is due to the location at basement. But a good place to have a nice hot piping fried chicken during winter. Gami chips is real good too.
Hidden in a basement behind a yellow door is this cool, niche spot that serves kfc (Korean fried chicken) and beer! And things in between lol. Tried out their Korean rice cake dish and their kfc (half spicy/ half soy garlic). Service was easy and appreciated. Loved the rice cake with cheese, must have! Was pleasantly surprised to find noodles at the bottom it was sooo good! The kfc was decent, a little bit too oily and some pieces were dry for my liking. But their flavours were nice, spicy was actually spicy which I liked! And the soy garlic was a good balance. Definitely a place meant for sharing dishes. Would give it another try!
My favorite of all Gami. Anything that champions fried chicken and beer I'd alright by me. But it manages to avoid falling into the poor customer service traps that have been synonymous with the chain across the country.
Go to here.
The best korean fried chicken with sauce or no sauce! The best thing about korean fried chicken is to order them in bones, not the boneless ones. The sauce are rich and it was absorbed throughout the chicken meat. The meat was tender and the skin was super crispy. Love how they cooked it! Best to eat it with some beers and friends!
I love Gami, its fatty crispy fried sweet chicken, with beer or the morning after too many beers its a god send and now uber eats are delivering I can eat it in bed...yup its fatty boom bah food !!
The entrance to this venue is pretty secretive (tiny yellow door) and then you go down a flight of stairs to find a cool area with the amazing smell of fried chicken.Â
Shared one fried chicken with bones (so juicy) between 2 people. Chicken was oily, greasy and drenched in sauce but hey, who can complain as it was delicious! Enjoyed the sweet chilli chicken and the spicy version (which wasn't overly spicy thank god). Overall, I liked the fried chicken here, and will probably be back here for my occasional cheat meal (yum!)
How can Korean Fried Chicken from Gami ever be bad? KFC tip #1 - get the chicken with bones form more juicy chicken. KFC tip #2 - 1 chicken per 2 people is not too much.
Checked out this place for a late night snack craving near our hotel on flinders.
Opened till late with a rather subtle entrance (once you see the sign on the door, that's it! Just a door.)
Amazing crispy chips, decent Korean fried chicken (had the sweet chilli, sweet and mildly spicy), Korean beer (and 3 types of soju available too).
Cozy and casual environment!
Went here for the first time. They provided seafood chips for a snack! Yum! The first thing that came out was the chips! Loved it. Sauce that came out. Yum! Absolutely amazing. Yum yum yum! The potato heaven was okay. My cousins ordered the cheese and corn and the kimchi. They loved it! We ordered original boneless chicken and soy garlic chicken. The original was not my favourite. Taste is mediocre. If you have ever eaten jollibee chicken it tastes like that. Which I don't really like. My favourite was the soy garlic chicken. Yum, just after 3 I couldn't eat anymore. Haha, but yeah it's really just personal preference. The service is impeccable!
Love love love Gami's! Their cheesy corn is amazing and potato heaven is just great! Though there was a bit of a wait it was worth it! Only possible down side is no split billing so if you go with a group make sure you either have cash or one person's willing to take the fall
Came here yesterday night with a big group of 22 people and the staff handled us really well. We originally booked for 18 but they quickly added an extra table for us when more people arrived. Normally I don't like sweet chilli flavoured chicken but the ones here are really great! Chicken ribs were a bit dry and chips were too overcooked to my liking. Overall, very friendly and attentive customer service with flavoursome chicken.
The best Korean Fried Chicken I've had in Melbourne. Am a frequent visitor as it is so good! Plenty of great foods and flavours available, all of which are delicious!
Was quite packed given that it was a thursday evening. Overall customer service and the quality of food was great, looking forward to be back soon.
I have been craving Korean Fried Chicken for more than a month. There's always something else so I never ended up going to this place. So finally I went yesterday, it was really busy but we managed to get a table for 4 in 15 mins. Must order: Soy Garlic Chicken!! I normally get their kimchi pancake and corn cheese but this time we had spicy seafood soup because it was quite cold. It was really good. Try to make a booking if you are a group of 4 or more because they can get really busy on weekend.
Been here once, and will come back for their 750g boneless chicken feast! Tried soy and garlic, and sweet chilli half n half. With radish and some cabbage salad for the sides.. A$34 filled my bellyđ
Been here multiple times with friends and never once disappointed! My favourite is the boneless soy garlic and usually get the original as well. They have always been consistent in flavour and service is always friendly! Would recommend this place over other gami places as it has potato heaven!
We have been to almost every Gami stores by now but we rarely visit thai branch because the location is a bit off the CBD with limited parking available. So Chrismas day when everyone's home, and the street is abundant with parking spots on King Street - we decided that its the best time to check out this place!
Here we order the whole chicken - boneless and made with two different sauces: sweet chili and soy garlic. They were both good - the chicken was tender and juicy inside while the coating was crispy and not oily. The garlic sauce was slightly better than at other branches, being not overly sweet.
The steam rice we ordered was juicy, soft, and separating - which was good. The side dish was tasty as well - fresh and crunchy. Service was good and the place was cozy but a bit dark.
Thank God It's Friday and I'll I'm craving is a beer and fried chicken!
Been here multiple times with friends when cravings would arise!
Would get the boneless fried chicken! Personal favourite is the original and having all dipping sauces handy to add abit of a kick but ask for abit of salt to sprinkle on the original fried chicken ohhhhhhh mannnn I'm salivating right now
Would definitely reccomend this place to friends and family!
Great fried chicken, beer snacks and beer. Had the boneless chicken, chicken ribs, fried cheese sticks & kimchi pancakes. All were excellent but wouldn't get the ribs and boneless chicken together again as they were fairly similar. Side sauces were sweet but just what you need for a venue like this. Good spot to indulge.
One of the better gami places I say. Food and service is pretty good and am feeling great too because of that. I do recommend anyone around to try out this underground joint!
Korean fried chicken (KFC) at its best. They have the best spicy KFC. Great beer food. Don't know how they do it with keeping the chicken so Crunchy and juicy. And all the fat rendered into perfect crispy chicken
Very good place for eat chicken, 4 different sauce, original, spicy, sweet chili and garlic.
Cabbage, daikon pickles, and crackers onthe side.
I tried many place before and this it s my favorite actually. Good and smilling staff thx...
A work function took me here on a Thursday night. Bloody fantastic chicken with amazing sauces and was funnelled very easily into my mouth. This particular kings St joint has noooo atmosphere. It's literally a bomb shelter that serves amazing chicken. Must also try the cheese sticks. I'm eager to get more chicken, but not at the bomb shelter. I imagine the Acland St resturant would be great. Good option for a boys dinner and beer.
Cheeseburger Anyone? "Where's The Sauce"?
+4.5
Not as good as lil Lonsdale st.. but still good! Original chicken had a slight nut meg taste..prefered it at lil Lonsdale.. honey soy was perfect! Chicken ribs were delicious!! Side salad nice and fresh. BUT OMG! the mashed potatoes with wedges cheese and sour cream! Omg! Soo good. Smooth, cheesy, creamy, perfect!
This place is pretty hidden and not the easiest place to find, however they consistently serve the best fried chicken in Melbourne! Soo tasty and there is always a wait. The soy garlic and sweet chilli are our favourites and the chicken wings are such good value. This place is soo addictive. Make sure you book ahead.
Went for dinner with friends on a Friday night. The words "Fried Chicken" had me cynically expecting some kind of greasy oily pile of batter with a piece of something that used to be meat inside.
Ooo, I was wrong, and very glad to be.
Shared two platters of the Boneless Chicken (and it truly was), so we could try each of the sauces. Original Fried was excellent, with a good seasoned taste, but still tasted exactly like chicken should. Also wasn't covered in oil or grease, so huge plus. The Spicy packed a bigger whallop than I might've expected, but my lord, it was delicious. The Soy Garlic was absolutely amazing, and I would seriously recommend it to anyone. Also had some of the house pale ale. Not bad, and actually went well with the chicken, but also too sweet for my liking.
Good atmosphere, but can get very loud, so not a place for a quiet romantic dinner. But if Fried Chicken is your goal, then you get what you expect. Staff were fantastic as well. Only damper is that the food did take a while to get there, but the wait was worth it.
If you're looking for a good Korean Fried Chicken place, look no further, and get your ass down here.
Amazing Korean-style fried chicken. I love the garlic sauce. It's just so crispy outside but tender on the outside. It's just perfect! I like this location better than the one in lt londsdale near QV, since it wasn't as busy and quieter.
A few people had told us to try Gami chicken in Melbourne and not back at home and having one being only a a few minutes away we thought why not.
We got the boneless chicken half original and half spicy, it came with honey mustard sauce and coleslaw.
The original chicken was pretty good and flavourful and went to well with hat sauce, the spicy one was good too and really had a spicy kick to it. Maybe next time weâll try other flavours of chicken. But we were pretty happy with our choice.
It wasnât oily or greasy and didnât make us feel sick at all. We didnât have to wait long while we went into the place and did our order. It was pretty cool how it was downstairs in a basement. And watching people order kegs of beer even between 2 people, couldnât even do it even if we tried.
The tap beer is amazing here! Service is good as well! We had placed an order for a sweet chicken whole fried chicken. It's a bit too sweet but I love the atmosphere here.
This is one place i love eating at. Original Chicken is yummy and tender. Boneless chicken with rice is absolutely fabulous. The flavoured chickens are so smooth and the texture is magnificent. It makes your mouth waters. Service is great, location is brilliant, walking distance within CBD and Crown. I also love the fact its underground, it brings out this heavy air and coolness to it. Recommended.
I don't know how to explain to you my love for Gami. I want to hold a ricecake in my loving arms. I want to kiss some chicken. Marry some cheesecorn.
LOVED Gami. Fried chicken, sauce on the side plus beer beer beer. Good start to a night of drinking, or end to a night of drinking. The menu aside from the chicken looks amazing. Can't ait to try more.
My best memories were all here! I went there twice with friends and I like the fried chicken with source. Rice cake is also good. I will try it when I go back to Melb
For all those late night diners head to Gami chicken bar for a deep fried feast. Love this joint for late night eating. They are one of many few eateries who have nailed the deep fried chicken in the simplicity of a basic no bells and whistles venue!
Best friends chicken experience I've had in Melbourne. Second time here. Service is just as good as the first time I came here. I don't usually get out standing service at Asian food stores but these guys are really friendly and helpful! They play good music also :)
One bite and i addicted to you. I tried the soy graluc taste and the sweet chilli taste. The chicken meat is so soft and juicy. And the taste of the sauces are so nice. Love it and definitely coming back.
Awesome chicken. I had the half chicken spicy with a mate and a jug of beer. Chicken was moist and spice wonderful. Recommend heading down there and I will be going back for more.
Service was also with a great smile.
Love the corn cheese, love the soy garlic sauce and always opting for boneless chicken cause I hate using my hands :) Tried the rice cakes with cheese on top and that was good too.
First time to Gami and I will be back. The rice cakes are yum, the dumplings were crispy and delicious, ans the fried chicken was awesome! Oh and that sweet chilli sauce on the rice cakes was so good, we saved some to dip the fried chicken in and it was magic in my mouth. Can't recommend this enough!
Open till late good thing. Food are great, the place a bit dodgy tho. Few choices of food butcreasonable price. If you're looking for late night place this is the place!
A perfect place for chicken and beer craving! The crispy of the chicken (with the generous sauce) is so good. I could finish the whole chicken by myself i guess LOL love the cheese corn for appetiser as well. Perfect for sharing with friends :)
I really like how their chicken is cooked so well! Tender and their batter isn't too thick too! I must say though, their tteokbokki stood out the most, saucey and very tasty! Going in big groups also means you can order more and it adds up not being too expensive which is another good thing!
This place is known for its Fired chicken and beer. Very good food at a reasonable price. Fried Chicken with Sweet Chili sauce and Original recipe is a must try. Definitely worth visiting !
#recommended
Place was jam packed when we got there however staff are obviously well versed in handling large crowds. Managed to get a table in under 15 minutes. They managed to get our order wrong but swiftly brought us the correct meals when notified. Chicken is one of the best we've had and the Gami in-house beer is a fantastic pairing.
The fried chicken is amazing! Best korean fried chicken I've had (and trust me, I've had my fair share). The kitchen closes very early at 10pm and usually during the weekends this place is packed. $34 for whole chicken (I usually do half Sweet and Spicy and half Soy and Garlic). Crispy, moist inside, drowned in sauce. It goes well with the Fried Rice Cake. Other than that, nothing else is good. If you go in a large group, order a big keg of beer (4L, ~$45). Around $20 per person without drink. Would definitely come back.
Enjoyable and unique niche to focus on fried chicken and beer. The chicken was very nice, I do have quite a soft spot for fried chicken though. Overall nothing revolutionary or even terribly exciting really. Definitely worth a go.
Went to gami for a dinner with a few friends. The staff were so lovely and the food came out quickly.
We ordered the kimchi pancake, wedges and 2 types of chicken, sweet chilli and honey soy. The kimchi pancake, personally, was not really my thing, a little to spicy. The wedges/mash potato were yummy and a good contrast to the chicken.
Now for the highlight - the chicken! It was so yummy, I still have cravings! The honey soy was good but the waitress was right when she said the sweet chilli was the best and most popular.
I definitely recommend this place and will be going back for that chickens soon :)
Who doesn't like fried chicken. This place serves tasty fried chicken and the atmosphere is really great. It's downstairs and when we went, it was packed! We ordered some small entrees to start but we were really here for the chicken. They came out tasty and juicy. I only wish the radishes that came out were larger and more in abundance as the radish compliments the greasy chicken really well. It's like sipping on a great glass of red wine while eating a steak.
I had heard a lot about this place so I was keen to see what it was all about. I ended up here after work with a group of 8 colleagues and it was great experience. The chicken is the best, especially the boneless sweet soy garlic and sweet chilli flavours. It's a great place for a large group as you can order large quantities and they even have mini legs of beer for the table. The only downside to this place was the seating arrangement and atmosphere, it was quite dark and looked very basic.
If you want great Korean fried chicken, just eat here. So good for groups and reservations are must on weekends. Even with multiple cbd locations, it is very busy. It would be great if there were better seating options and if they did half serve of boneless. I always go for the boneless chicken option, because I don't have time for bones.
The most delicious Korean fried chicken ever!
This place is great to accommodate large groups and outings. The staff are both friendly and attentive. They help with choosing your options from a variety of sides and flavours of chicken.
It is best to stick to the boneless so there is no hassle to deal with. The chicken is mouth wateringly delicious. They have the flavours right in every sense. My personal opinion is to choose the sweet chilli and the spicy flavour.Â
It is a hidden place, tucked away in the king st basement, but what a gem. I have come here many times and thought it was time I shared my opinion as this place never disappoints.
Their serving size of the chicken is large and enough to share around. The sides I recommend  which you cannot miss are the rice cakes and kimchi pancakes. They are a great accompaniment to the main chicken. And don't forget the house beer and soju!
Busy on the weekends and friday nights but the week days are quiet.
Great place, great food, great service, the best of times I have always had here and will continue to come here.
One of Melbourne's lesser known secrets which has now become a staple in my everyday life. The venue is tucked away inside a building and you have to walk downstairs, into what could onto be described as a rape dungeon turned fried chicken restaurant. The confusion of what Gami is has been passed along by many a white person like folklore, from father to son, mother to daughter. It is simply put the most delicious fried chicken one has ever eaten. Chicken is a controversial topic, and there are many a naysayer when you claim a place has indisputably the best fried chicken ever. This is where you need to let Gami do the talking. The sweet chilli and mustard sauce with the boneless chicken? Heads up, Don't wear any socks on your date, cause those bad boys will be well and truly blown off. They even keep the corona's at such a temperature they freeze into a slushy type mix. At first I thought that was annoying, but it keeps the beverage cold throughout the entirety of drinking it. These people have thought of everything. Busy on Friday and Saturday nights, might want to get in earlier if you wish to sample these wares. If there was a Greek god for flavour, their name would be Gami.
Reasonable fried chicken. Big benefit is that this outlet is quieter than the other Gami locations, if you don't mind underground dining. Easier to get a table.
I LOve Gami. CHICKEN CHICKEN CHICKEN! If you love Fried Chicken this is the SPOT! I have been coming for a number of years and their Chicken has been consistently amazing. Great Staff. Good vibes. Nuff Said
Best fried Chicken and Beer. I came here occasionally. It's an awesome place to dine out with friends. I like the spicy chicken the most- though I have to say it's really really hot and spicy.
They have the delivery service for those living in the CBD area. Pretty awesome :) I called for delivery twice, it took like less than an hour for the food to come.
The restaurant is not very big, but spacious enough for large groups. The staff were not happy when we walked in with a large group, without making a prior booking (which was understandable). When we were seated, the waitress took our orders and were prompt in bringing out the dishes.
At Gamiâs, its all about the chicken! They rock up some tantalizingly good fried chickens. Gami chicken is made out of 7 different herbs and core ingredients. This Korean style of fried chicken delivers on the right level of sweetness, spiciness and sourness.
So, most of my (especially) Indonesian friends have been quite maniacal on Gami Chicken and insisted that I should try. The first two trips we made to Gami Chicken on a weekend without booking and it was as a total failure. The waiter told us that if we don't make reservations, don't bother. But the third try, we went without reservations on a weekday night and we managed to secure seats at the King Street's outlet. Free prawn crackers to start. Jan also ordered a bottle of Premium Light Cascade because he said beer and chicken pairs well together. Gol Bang El êłšë±
ìŽ, 15AUD Gol Bang El, aka a type of sea snail and more commonly known as the bladder moon snail. I wasn't aware there would be snails on the plate, hey, the menu didn't say so! I just thought it was a type of salad, and the brown chunks in it, hm... mushrooms? It tasted albeit funny, chewy like abalone. Then I decided to google what Gol Bang El was, and I was.. mortified! I compulsively detest against certain foods like snails, escargots, frogs, turtles and what not. I tend to keep thinking of these animals' image in my head and would repulse when offered. But that's just me leaning towards the bias, Jan kinda liked it. It comes with noodles on the side, imagine kimchi noodle salad. As for me though, I guess I am not too much of an adventurous foodie. Half / Half (Sweet Chili  Sweet Soy Garlic) ë°ë°, 32AUD Not sure how many pieces, but its a whole Korean style fried chicken cooked half and half. The winning factor was the sauce and the crispy batter. You could pick it with bones or without. I wanted my carnivorous  self to eat like a gruesome beast and bite these pieces to the bone without having a care of public messiness. The Sweet Chili sauce had more oomph flavour while the Sweet Soy Garlic is drier and more subtle. I couldn't pick a favourite but Jan prefers the red sauce. Both were equally delish to me! M any of you might not agree, and maybe its a biased sentimental attachment, b ut overall, and yet ag
If you like fried chicken and beer, which is almost everyone, you will love this place. We got one of each flavour of wings and the rice sticks, which were amazing!
Need more kegs!. The Husband and 8 of his rowdy friends started their night at Gami for dinner before hitting up the Casino and Kittens, they ordered 4 chickens in various flavours along with the seafood pancake and cheesy corn dishes as sides which were all great as usual, the only gripe was when they wanted to order a keg of beer they had to settle with ordering 4 jugs of beer (which in turn cost more for the same amount as the keg would hold) because the premises only had 4 kegs...4! and they were all being utilized at that point in time, not a big deal, just hopefully they aquire more kegs so next time the guys feel like their boys night is complete with the keg
Best Gami out of the four stores!!!!!. This Gami has a very lively and welcoming environment. This place has THE BEST fried chicken, original good, spicy good, sweet soy & garlic good and sweet chili good. The food just tastes better at this store.
The original is great and something everyone can enjoy. The sweet soy & garlic is very very much garlic, but good, I really love eating this one. And the spicy chicken is extremely spicy and very hot, most of my friends can't eat it.
- Beer is pretty decent
- Soya* is a must!
- Spicy chicken dish with cheese = really good, I wish i had a bowl of rice to eat it with
- Tteokbokki was decent
- The Corn cheese is surprisingly good, something worth trying
Chicken and beer, or more precisely Korean Fried Chicken and Korean beer! Canât go wrong with this combo. Get yourself a barrel of beer and settle in for the night with loads of flavour and food coming your way. One full paddle of fried chicken between two people will keep you fed, and can also recommend the kimchi pancake to kick things off. Staff are friendly, food is delicious, so just look for that bright yellow door and go down the stairs for an awesome night!
Great place to just chill and relax around some good Korean food. Menu is simple only offering a few dishes, but they also have a full page of Gami Fried Chicken which was really crispy, tasty and delicious. Also had the tteokbokki which was a lil more spicy that I thought it would be, but was really good as well. Would definitely return.
Very decently priced fried chicken with a great side selection of other menu items. Being in the basement adds to its charm. Great beer selection on choice and the staff are super friendly. The pickled radish that comes with the chicken is so good!
Very regular at this place. Amazing wings and beer. Really good for the price. The new glass noodles are very tasty and amazing. Its a must try after the wings. Staff is very friendly and the service is super fast. Always a busy day here.
Just amazing fried chicken! If youâre game, go the volcano chicken. Soooo hot but so good with the salad and beer. They just churn out amazing chicken even when you get there a minute before the kitchen closes!
Gami is probably the best Korean Fried Chicken you can get, and the King Street restaurant is no different.
It's a little hidden, inside, through a little doorway and down a flight of stairs.
Once you're in though, delicious fried chicken, with wonderful sauce options (the spicy is properly spicy, my favourite). The sides are also great, Kimchi Pancake a highlight. All goes down well with a bottle (or two) of Soju.
Who doesnât know Gami fried chicken? I normally get the original flavour and eat it with rice. One of the best korean fried chicken in Melbourne.
