đ±Lizzieâs first impression: Cosy, tasty fried chicken and space great for big grups.
đ©Lizzie enjoyed: I love coming back to this Gamis as it is underground and theres ample of seating. It is great for big groups thereâs an array of dishes to choose from. I love the soy garlic and sweet chilli flavours. A lot of my friends enjoy their OG fried chicken without flavour but I like a bit of sauce. They also do a great wedges plate with sour cream and sweet chilli â literally delicious.
đ
Lizzie did not enjoy: Service may be a bit slower when it is busy but their food quality is always up to scratch.
đ„Lizzie rates overall: I love coming back here time and time again â if only I didnât put on weight eating fried chicken all day.
Been ordering a lot from this place for dinner as it was close by and the boneless fried chicken were yummy. We usually get half half Original and sweet chilli sauce but it can get really salty. The sides they provided were nice - cabbage, radish and I love their Kim chi.
We weren't sure if we had the right place even though the sign was outside since the yellow door was closed. After opening it and heading down to the basement we arrived in the restaurant.
The menu had quite a selection of items but we came here to try one thing, the chicken and beer. We grabbed the G Beer Pale Ale and the boneless half soy garlic, half spicy, as well as the mandu. This was a lot of food for 2 people. The beer came with prawn crackers which I thought was really nice. The mandu was nice and crispy with a decent amount of filling. The chicken was quite nice. It was made from cuts from a whole chicken so I found some pieces really good while others were a bit dry. The spiciness was a good level as you could feel the heat and it wasn't too painful. Interestingly, the meals came with a salad that was dressed in tomato sauce.
Quite a nice meal here. I prefer thigh cuts as I find the breast ones a bit dry, even with the sauce but the crunchiness of the chicken was good. The other items on the menu also look tasty, like the cheese corn.
Nice place to eat. love the cold beer and spicy chicken. Well priced
The crispiest chicken you can find in Melbourne. The sauces are so true to Korean cuisine. My favourites are the pickled radishes!!
If you do not have great spice tolerance, do not try the spicy one because it's bloody spicy.
Yum yum yum.
Boneless fried chicken was so damn good and the beer on tap is also amazing.
The corn cheese is another hit and the fries were great. Great place to go to blow out on fried chicken
When it comes for Fried Chicken, this would be my place to go.
Not only the chicken is good, they also offer great house beer that goes really well with the chicken.
The original with salt & pepper is my fave.
The soy & garlic is my second choice.
Worth to try..!!
This place is great for takeaway but dining in a big group can be difficult as the place is quite small. the staffs are always friendly and greets upon entering. the chicken is always great here but the rice is quite hard and dry, it seems like the rice that they provide is a couple days old. so try to avoid ordering the rice if possible.
3.5 stars
Solid choice for chicken. Sauces are pretty good. The spicy and volcano options have a good kick. Side dish options are available but really it's mostly about the chicken.
They have cheap beer that goes well with the chicken.
Deduct half a star for terrible bathrooms.
This is to my new favorite fried chicken spot. A spooky entrance to a place with a bad ambience and the place seemed alittle understaffed.
However, we got their full chicken with the volcano and garlic sauces. The Korean fried chicken was perfectly cooked with a crunchy coating. The volcano sauce was one spicy sauce that leaves you wanting for more! It was so succulent and changed my definition of KFC! The garlic on the other hand didn't ooze out a garlicky flavor which was alittle disappointing.
Good food, good prices, will definitely hit this up for other flavors! Highly recommended!

Chicken and beer, or more precisely Korean Fried Chicken and Korean beer! Canât go wrong with this combo. Get yourself a barrel of beer and settle in for the night with loads of flavour and food coming your way. One full paddle of fried chicken between two people will keep you fed, and can also recommend the kimchi pancake to kick things off. Staff are friendly, food is delicious, so just look for that bright yellow door and go down the stairs for an awesome night!
Great place to just chill and relax around some good Korean food. Menu is simple only offering a few dishes, but they also have a full page of Gami Fried Chicken which was really crispy, tasty and delicious. Also had the tteokbokki which was a lil more spicy that I thought it would be, but was really good as well. Would definitely return.
Very decently priced fried chicken with a great side selection of other menu items. Being in the basement adds to its charm. Great beer selection on choice and the staff are super friendly. The pickled radish that comes with the chicken is so good!
Very regular at this place. Amazing wings and beer. Really good for the price. The new glass noodles are very tasty and amazing. Its a must try after the wings. Staff is very friendly and the service is super fast. Always a busy day here.
Just amazing fried chicken! If youâre game, go the volcano chicken. Soooo hot but so good with the salad and beer. They just churn out amazing chicken even when you get there a minute before the kitchen closes!
Gami is probably the best Korean Fried Chicken you can get, and the King Street restaurant is no different.
It's a little hidden, inside, through a little doorway and down a flight of stairs.
Once you're in though, delicious fried chicken, with wonderful sauce options (the spicy is properly spicy, my favourite). The sides are also great, Kimchi Pancake a highlight. All goes down well with a bottle (or two) of Soju.
Who doesnât know Gami fried chicken? I normally get the original flavour and eat it with rice. One of the best korean fried chicken in Melbourne.
