Best coffee we have ever had. Delicious and velvety smooth. Have only just discovered this place but we were made to feel welcome straight away. What a gem of a place!!

Delicious authentic, home cooked Italian food in an intimate setting. Great coffee and pastries. Worth visiting just to hear the owner personally take you through the menu in a thick Italian accent.

This barista doesn't need to have a tossy beard to make the best coffee in Melbourne!. This is an unassuming place to have a great Italian coffee and meal. There is no set menu and the food is fresh and wholesome. I am one of a bunch of regulars who can not go a day without having a coffee from Michele...as well as a quick chat (p.s. the little dolci array on the bar will tempt you every time!)

Fresh, tasty and great value. Love, love, love Speck.

Kathy's food is exceptional. This is Italian home-style cooking at its best!

A fantastic little cafe where you'll rub shoulders (literally) with former judges, gowned barristers, and others who enjoy good food. The owner runs you through the day's offerings, all of which are enticing. Today's standout was the buckwheat pasta with garlic, potato and tender cabbage leaves, served with a fresh and lightly dressed side salad. Lovely delicate flavours seasoned perfectly. Together with a share in a slice of moist chocolate and almond cake, was $19 well spent on great food. The tiny tables and banquettes fill up fast so go early to avoid disappointment.

Get looked after for lunch. If you're tired of paying $9 for an ordinary sandwich then squeeze yourself in to Michaele's place for a terrific, no-fuss meal that won't leave you feeling heavy or like your wallet has been lightened. $20 will get you a terrific home-style Italian meal, sparkling mineral water, and the best coffee on Queen Street. Italian panache comes free.

Homestyle and authentic. A legal hangout, but don't let that stop you visiting.
Push past all the wigs and suits and check out the glass display of goodies. The italian guy comes and tells you what everything is. They don't have a menu per say. I've tried one of their rolls with air-dried beef, cheese and salad which was yummo and also their spinach pie with salad. Great coffee too. And reasonably priced.

Best Kept as a Secret. The "Italian Guy" does smile and presents you with a selection of the tastiest and freshest food for the day -hence, no menu. It feels like being transported back to Italy.

What I assume to be the owner, was so friendly. He was so polite and the coffee was one of the best I’ve had in a long time! Will definitely come back ❤️

Great coffee, great pastries, small but cozy environment. Best of all great staff and professional barista. I think their magic is one of the best in CBD. It makes me feels like I’m having coffee in Italy 🇮🇹. Couldn’t ask for more!

Great little cafe with sensational coffee. Visit in the morning and you are sure to overhear some interesting conversations between legal barristers discussing their cases. The cafe is the legal precinct. Service was a little slow as they were flat out being prime breakfast time. Certainly worth a visit.

Food is always great here, especially eggs in the morning or freshly made pies for lunch. But the coffee is what I always head to Speck for. It’s just Michel doing the coffee and Catherine making all the delicious food. In particular, I am partial to the croissants and biscotti that is made there. Great for takeaway or dine in. Wonderful atmospheric Italian cafe.

Best coffee in the town, the man brews it with pride and passion. The almond croissant is my favourite snack, if you like that kind of coffee snacks you will not regret trying it. The service is second to none in the Melbourne cbd.
