I'm surprised to see the ratings for Axil aren't higher as my friend and I couldn't fault our brunch here today.

Staff attended to us quickly and we got our meals very quickly. I ordered the corn & zucchini fritters which was such a tasty dish. The crispy sweet potato chips gave the dish the crunchy texture it needed and were super moorish. The salsa, poached egg and avocado complimented the fritters beautifully.

My friend ordered the scramble which was such a pretty dish. She really enjoyed the flavours and would definitely order it again. The coffees were the perfect strength also. The only thing I noticed was the cafe was quite cold inside (and it's a very cold day in Melbourne), which was slightly uncomfortable and the coffee got cold quickly.

The ambience is spacious, modern and very clean looking. I'll definitely be back in future to try their popular jaffles!

Located in The Urban Workshop (Urban Table) is this open space where Axil Coffee Roasters have just taken up residency. They've got a tighter menu than some of their other establishments with a focus on coffee, jaffles and other small items to accompany your beverage.

Latte was solid, smooth and strong. My jaffle consisted of mushroom and cheese and an extra cheese one for $3, awesome deal. They include quality ingredients and utilise various cheeses to pair. Sometimes you just need some comfort food to escape the fact that you have to go back to work in a few minutes.

Great coffee and very friendly staff. Got my takeaway coffee very quick and it was delicious. I'd love to come back and dine in next time if I get a chance.

In Melbourne you are spoiled for choice when it comes to coffee. Everyone has their favorite and there seems to be a cafe at every corner. No matter your favorite, give Axil Coffee a try and admire its delicious brew. Nice table service helps along with an industrial decor. Jaffles (or toasties to you non-Aussies) are also on offer if you want to satisfy that hunger. What’s your favorite??

Excellent coffee. Nice large open space in the lobby of the building. Gets busy at peak times, but the wait for both a table and a takeaway is usually reasonable. Note: table service, no need to order from the counter

One of the best coffee shop in Melbourne. Their coffee beans nicely roasted and have unique flavors. They also sell cafe food as well. They located at the lobby of a building, the shop is hidden if you enter from Lt Lonsdale st. Plenty of seats at the cafe. You can also access from Londsale st. Very close to public transport. Parking can be found on street and nearby car park.

Light filled café in the foyer of 50 Lonsdale, which is defined by high quality Axil beans and A+ baristas. The wide open space works well in catering to the corporate clientele. The menu is basic and solid, with pastries and jaffles available. A good spot for the daily grind if you work nearby:
