A little disappointed with no chicken/vegetarian dumpling options but can't complain about the king pao chicken I bought. It was worth my money in terms of both taste and the portion size. Ended up eating 1 portion for 2 meals.
The fried pan dumplings and the sour plum drink are very well made, it's not fancy but classical chinese street food.
This was a great find in a city that’s rammed with dumpling options. It’s on Exhibition Street on that quiet stretch and is never overly busy. Anyways, we headed in and it was well worth it! We had the xiao long bao which were very good. But it’s the pan fried dumplings (which like the xiao long bao, have soup between the filling and the skin - which is pan fried). I can’t remember the name for these but we’ve had them at a few places and they’re my fav! Spring onion pancakes and prawn har gao were also top notch. Will definitely be back!
Small shop up on exhibition street right next to the theater. The fried rice was pretty average and the garlic cucumber is very disappointing for us. It was drenched in their sauce but lacking the vinegar and garlic flavour. The truffle dumplings are unique and surprisingly very good.
Everything we ordered was delicious, especially the pan fried pork dumplings. Must order the pan fried dumplings!
The pork bun looks different to the usual ones that we know. It’s slightly smaller in size (sorry didn’t take photo) and the skin seems to taste similar to dumpling skin. The pan fried dumplings is pretty good. However the “ma lak” spicy chicken rice is lacking the hot peppers taste and is quite bland.
Pan fried dumpling was amazing! Crispy outside and juicy inside. The only disappointment is the limited food options. Other than that, all good.

Quick and efficient service. A fantastic place for a good feed and quick lunch. We ordered a few plates of the pan fried dumplings - vegetarian, pork and chicken. The broth inside the dumplings was steaming hot, but so delicious! Don’t burn your mouth!
We dropped by Yang’s Dumplings for dinner on the weekend and had a very pleasant experience.
As we were pretty hungry, we ordered quite a lot of dishes between the 3 of us.
The one thing you have to try here are their famous Pan-fried Pork Buns. Wow, these were very impressive! Thick fluffy skin, piping hot and juicy filling - they sure were some very plump dumplings! The bottom was fried crispy and it was just perfect! Be careful when you eat these though - I bit into one and the soup came squirting out all over the table!
I would also recommend the Truffle Xiao Long Bao - I really enjoyed them and the truffle flavour was quite mild. Again, very juicy and full of soup!
This is easily one of my favourite dumpling spots in the city. The dumplings are beautifully made, not too doughy, and has a good portion of filling. The original pork dumplings are a must try. But you need to be careful when eating them as the soup inside the dumpling can get messy when you bite into them. They are delicious with a bowl of vinegar and chilli. The panfried dumplings and noodles were also really delicious.
When I was in shanghai I got told to try yangs, and once I did I was hooked. Ever since I had been on the hunt for those sweet juicy pan fried pork dumplings. When I finally tried the once here I was reminded of how much I loved them!
I really like this place!! They are nice here, even though their english is limited. it has very nice vibes, and the atmosphere is good too. the dumplings here were the best!!
Yang's dumplings was my favourite dumpling chain in Shanghai, so I had to try it out here too. The eatery itself is small but the service was bright and cheerful. Lots of menu options to choose from, not only dumplings. But the dumplings are what we came for. Very generous in their soupy filling but the flavour wasn't the same as in Shanghai. Still would recommend trying out!
One of the best, if not the best, place to get pan fried dumplings in Melbourne! Stick to what they're know for- even though their English name is just 'Yang's Dumplings' their Chinese name is 'Xiao Yang Sheng Jian'; sheng jian bao being a particular type of pan fried dumpling. Therefore, your best bet is to get the pan fried dumplings from the menu! The classic pork is just the juiciest, tastiest pan fried dumpling I've had in Melbourne and in the month since I first visited this place, I've had it on 3 separate occasions- they're just SO good especially with added vinegar and chilli oil! Prawn and the one with veggies are also tasty, but I have to admit still not as good as the ordinary pork. The texture of the dumpling skin is great and the soup to pork ratio is perfect!
Overall, an amazing place to eat in or take away pan fried dumplings, in particular the pork flavour. If you try what they specialise in, then you're set.
Absolutely loved the pan fried dumplings here. By far the best pan fried dumplings n XLB I have had in Melbourne. Everything is freshly made. The service was spot on. Highly recommend!
Best dumpling in Melbourne! Highly recommend the pan fried vegetables and pork bun!!! Good service, good food, good price! The pork chop is really good as a side dish, and the spring onion pancake is amazing, love it the most!
Nothing beats cheap and cheery dumplings after an amazing musical at Her Majesty’s theatre. To be honest, I didn’t have much expectation of the dumplings here. It’s a new restaurant and didn’t seem too busy, but I was so wrong! The dumplings were so fresh, so much flavour and so affordable haha 3 plates of dumplings and a drink for $38! The pan fried pork and vegetable dumplings with the crispy bottom was definitely my favourite! Next time I want to try the Truffle Xiao Long Bao 😋
Best pan fried buns ever I had in Melbourne! Pork one is a little bit better than prawn one. Highly recommended! Sichuan chicken is also very delicious.
A place where has good taste dumplings and many choices for friends to gathering. The prices of food are reasonable and large portion for us to share.😋
Best Pan Fried Pork Buns! I tried this place once before in Shanghai and was very excited to see it open in Melbourne. The pork buns are juicy, filled with hot soup. The truffled pork buns are just as delicious. Great place for lunch or dinner. Will be back to try the other dishes. Highly recommend!!
Another new Dumpling store to hit the streets of Melbourne. Early days only just opening but service was great, food was good. Had the Pork dumplings and the fried rice and both were good. Looking forward to trying some of the other items on the menu.
