Ging Thai is located at the Crown and has two levels. So that we didn't have to choose what dishes to order, we selected the Feed Me menu for $68 per person. It has eight dishes and includes Pad Thai and Thai fish cakes which are typical Thai dishes. Also included in the Feed Me menu was roti bread, chicken satay, salmon salad, a beef curry, a vegetable dish and coconut and Pandan icecream for dessert. The dishes were very nice however they were probably prepared to cater for the Westerners palate as they were not at all spicy. For an extra $40 per person the Feed Me menu can be paired with drinks. We however chose to order cocktails. There were eight to select from and each were around $22.
The restaurant can accommodate different size groups and also has small cosy booths.
Would recommend Going Thai.

Thai gastrobar Ging Thai at Melbourne's Crown delivers an impeccable menu of contemporary Thai food and drink. The ambience is modern and relaxed. The beautiful space is anchored by the imposing bar that greets patrions when they enter. The venue runs seamless thanks to an all-star team ensuring that all the zest, vibrancy and vigour of Thai cuisine comes through on every plate.
We started with the Thai Fish Cake AKA Tod Man Pla Chilli served with ginger, cucumber and shallots. The dish was a multitude of intense flavours. The Charcoal Grilled Chicken Satays were equally delicious. Tender skewers were cooked to perfection and served with a moorish curried peanut dip.
For mains we fell in love with the Massaman Beef Curry. Featuring melt in your mouth morsels of beautifully cooked beef in a decadent and creamy curry cooked in a flavour-laden mix of sweet potatoes, peanuts, shallots and toasted coconut.
The Pad Thai continued the trend of amazing dishes. The popular Thai stir fried noodles transported us straight to the streets of Thailand. Ribbons of rice noodles were skilfully wok tossed with bean shoots, garlic chives, chicken spring onion, peanuts ,shallots and egg in a housemade tamarind sugar sauce. Just yum!
With a menu grounded in authentic Thai flavours paired with modern techniques, local produce and ingredients, Ging Thai pleases with a sophisticated menu.
Seafood fried rice is to die for.
