What a score!!! Leaving the city today after a long day visiting a sick relative at hospital. With tired children in tow we needed a good meal before embarking on the long trip home to the country. I had a 300gm beef burger, it was the first time I have found a place with a Burger worth paying for. Next time I will add a bit of spice which I couldn't on the menu which was a bit tricky to read. kids had Meatballs and loved it. Chips cooked to perfection. Partner and kids all agreed meatballs should have been hotter, hence the 4 point rating otherwise would have been higher. We arrived at the restaurant at about 3 so it was quiet which we appreciated after a long day, would love to go back at peak time for a beer, burger n peak at how it functions when its busy. Our waiter was super friendly too.

There is no shortage of 'filler' in these burgers - no doubt about that. But on the 'ease of eating' scale, when I have to use a knife and a fork to consume my burger, it just feels sorta wrong! LOL! Hubby Bear got the 'Standard' with the egg n' cheese option and while it looked all bad*ss, the taste was pretty standard, good, but standard. I got the Veggie burger with eggplant, goats cheese and marinated capsicum - which was very tasty. The actual veg pattie, ehhhh, nothing spesh, but the slippery toppings made the difference in flavour here, albeit a total and complete mess! My burger left me feeling like a 2-year old playing with paints as I tried to eat and capture the mayhem shooting out of my burger at every bite! Fries were well cooked and yummy. Overall? Pretty good. Have we been back, no - but that shouldn't stop you from going :)
Great food, the no.2 chicken avocado with Camembert cheese is great. The host with his zany head of well-groomed hair brings personality and character to an otherwise sleepy-hollow part of Melbourne
Great burgers, they have very good options to make your own burger. I had a chicken burger and chicken was cooked really good. Not over cooked, not under cooked , just perfect. !
Got a burger and sweet potato wedges. The burger was large, bursting with flavour and I couldn't rate it more highly. The beef pattie was extremely juicy, the bun was awesome and all of the ingredients were fresh. Best burger I've ever had!
Whilst the sweet potato wedges were also one of the best I've had, the serving size was very disappointing and not what you'd expect after paying $7. The serving size was that of a single large sweet potato and should have been at least double.
Babu never disappoints, the burgers are always cooked to perfection and the massive range of topping means you never have to have the same thing twice. The music's always good and the staff efficient and helpful, its doesn't hurt that the guys are all easy on the eyes either. Keep up the good work!

Service was great and the staff very friendly. The burgers were not overly big, but they were tasty. The fries on the side were delish very crunchy and well cooked.Liven Partner so I am able to get a $50 bonus! Great place definitely will go back and try another burger from their range.
I LOVE how they packed the burger for delivery, they separate it so the bun doesn't get soggy. Their sauces are amazing I would highly recommend for a lunch in!

Great burgers, bit of a wait. Came here on Thursday about 6PM and the place was empty. We were the only customers and were quickly sitted at a table. The staff was attentive and welcoming. We each ordered a 220gram large patty, medium cooked with various add-ons. Waited for about 20 minutes, which was a bit long for a buger place with us being the only customers at the time, we finally got our buns. We love the patties which was large, juicy and well marinated. Luke however doesn't like curry to be in beef. The other ingredients were also fresh and tasted great. We also got a small serve of fries which was delicious, well-salted and crunchy. Such a pity this place doesn't offer any milkshake though.

The beef patty is cooked to perfection, juicy and super duper meaty! It tastes more like a steak with the amazing texture unlike some of the burgers cause their patties are grounded too much to a much finer texture. The grilled flavour is the best! You can smell its freshness.
Been here a few times, each time consistently good. Burger is seasoned quite differently to most places. Gives it more of a meatball flavour as opposed to a traditional hamburger. Burgers are cooked to your liking and done well. The quality of the ingredients is 1st rate and the chips and particularly the potato wedges are the business. The only drawback is you really need to know what you want included in the burger as the babu favourites arent your normal options when you think of a burger
Have the best sweet potato chips I've EVER had! Burgers were yum but nothing super special, customer service was really nice (was a very quiet time of day) & well priced! Will be back!
Cannot wait to go back and get another babu burger. They're delicious and good value for money and I love the fact that we can choose all our toppings ourselves. A great place to meet friends for a catch-up and good food. I would definitely recommend the sweet potato chips too.
I will not drag this out. This is the best burger I have ever had and I have had quite a few. I am not sure how they spice their meat but its magic. Good menu system, cooked perfect. LOVE this place. Check it out if your in the area!

Lazy Friday night in avoiding the cold snap gripping Melbourne at the moment. Husband and I decided to stay in and order take-away courtesy of Menulog. Babu Burgers' menu was extensive and I loved the fact that the burgers were customisable even when you opted for delivery! Husband had the 150g beef burger with avocado, chipotle mayo and minus onions and pickles. I had the veggie burger with avocado, beetroot, jalapeño and chipotle mayo. We also ordered a side of wedges (with sweet chilli sauce and sour cream) and a small chocolate mousse for dessert. The burgers came partially assembled (a la create your own burger style) and could decide what sauces went in the burger before consumption! Both burgers were thoroughly enjoyed and I was ecstatic to finally find a burger place that does a veggie patty that isn't dry and tasting like cardboard. We were also impressed by the fact that the wedges were still crisp upon arrival and the chocolate mousse was decent too!
All in all a successful Friday night in. We're definitely ordering from Babu's again!
Had a great lunch today at Babu, fresh and beautifully dressed salad, sweet potato chips that were wonderfully crispy and the chicken meatballs with green sauce. I was stuffed!
Popped in this joint while on the way home, ordered the normal cheese burger with caramelised onions & egg, small fries & sour cream dip. The burger is delicious, the blend of the caramelised onions, egg, patty was smashing. The chips were well cooked & seasoned well, overall a great burger, definitely recommended!!

Great burger place! They have an unrivalled range of options for making your own burger including multiple different meat patties and everything from caramelised onions to jalapeños to greens and multiple different types of cheese. There are also some pre-made options to try as well as some meat ball dishes. The staff are always helpful and are keen to give suggestions. A must try in the city!
Was pleasantly surprised with Babu on Friday night. For a delivery burger, the service was quick, friendly - and for South Yarra, surprisingly free. A great bonus. Our meals arrived within the 30 mins on a busy Friday night.
I ordered the smaller sized burger - grilled chicken with maple bacon and blue cheese. I loved that the base/filling part of the burger comes separate to the top/salad part meaning that when you tuck in, it's fresh and absolutely not soggy.
However, I do think the burgers lack a little more sustenance. Buns were a bit dry, there needs to be some dressing added - and the bacon could have been crispy rather than firm and chewy.
I think with finesse in making your ordering choices and building your burger carefully this could be a 4 star plus place.

The burger patty here are special, it's big and thick but juicy and bursting with flavor. Treating the patty like a good steak by asking how we wanted the patties cooked. Medium rare how I would take it every time.
Not too much but definitely enough veggies to accompany the burger, which is seasoned very well with a distinctive hint of cumin.
There are heaps of options as add ons and various burger sizes.
Overall this is my current favorite place to order, their $30+ free delivery is also a bonus.
I had to write a review just to say how much I love the maple bacon and blue cheese. If you want a good simple burger with no queue and no fuss, try this place.
Babus is always great, burgers are fresh and delicious. I always over estimate the size of the burger i want and end up so full! Great portion sizes!
Ordered a large delivery of customised burgers for my office and was incredibly impressed with the quality of the burgers. They arrived at the exact time I specified and all burgers came packed in individual boxes that allowed you to put your burger together just before you ate it (eliminating any chance of sogginess). Highly recommend maple bacon for any burger order ;)
Fantastic service. Was greeted by staff straight away, asked if I had been there before and the menu was explained. She was very friendly and made sure my time at the restaurant was pleasant. There were heaps of different ingredients you could pick and choose from to create your own burger but also had recommendations for indecisive people like me. The burgers were open burgers and came out very quickly. I liked my chicken burger with Camembert, bacon and avocado except the bacon was a bit tough. They had their own cider which came with crushed ginger.
I like this place. Nice serving of food for what you pay for. Service is spot on! I like the concept of the shop. Old school (literally) with school assembly chairs (love it). It's spacious and they provide a few different condiments instantly. Parking is ok at night. The only thing it lacks is atmosphere. But I'll still be back.

My friend introduced me to this place. I was pretty sure it would not match my taste pallets but when I got my burger I overwhelmed with what I received it was perfect. The patties were juicy and all the component mixed really well. Now I can wait for my next visit. Hopefully it would give me the experience as before.

Burger delivery system ensured burger is perfect on delivery and not soggy or sweating, and the burger itself was so good I had to denounce Christianity. Great burgers. Had a vegetarian burger take away. It was great! Friend actually ordered the wrong burger for me - I had intended to have the #3 Veggie but ended up with a plain Veggie instead (looking forward to trying the #3 some other time). I was disappointed for a second when I opened my box and realised but it wasn't boring at all! Even though it didn't have many extras it tasted amazing and I loved the sauces that came with the burger. I loved how it was all set out separately so it didn't get soggy or gross in transit. The chips were also amazing. Will definitely be ordering from here in the future.

Good job Babu!. Since eating here for the first time a few months ago, I haven't been able to stop! I couldn't believe how many different options there are to add to the burger and so far they've all been tasty. I also love the 'babu cider' and find it a perfect accompaniment to the meal!
The only thing I could fault is that the fries are a little salty, however the chips are delicious!
Pleasantly suprised.. Ordered for delivery expecting to be somewhat underwhelmed for the prices but I was wrong. Within 20 mins of our order being confirmed the burgers where at our doorstep. The burgers themselves were great, thick patties that were perfectly cooked to how we ordered and all the other ingredients were of great quality. By the end I didn't feel ripped off at all, it was delicious.
Fantastic. Ordered the no.1 with a 220 patty and the taste was just what i was after. Definitely one of the thickest patties ive had and you can go bigger so if youre a bit of a carnivore, you'll enjoy it. Well seasoned with balanced ingredients. Normally patties of this size tend to make the experience soggy but it was just right. In conclusion, i couldnt really fault it. Even the think cut chips were great. Well done guys, ill come back :).
Best burgers I have ever had. Started with a takeaway for a hangover cure now it has become an obsession. Many takeaways later and one visit, I can not find fault. The burgers are just mouth watering, cooked to how you select. The salad is always fresh and gives a good crunch. The chips are just as good and the complementary dips just finish the tastebuds amazing journey. The staff are great and always welcoming you can tell they care and actually want to give you a great service (hard to come across these days).
For those who want a challenge make sure you go for one of their homemade puddings. You will be full but most certainly worth it.

FANTASTIC! I had a 220g burger delivered to my home with wedges and wasn't expecting anything that good from a delivered burger but as it turns out, I was very pleasantly surprised. Prompt delivery, everything was so hot and fresh. I can't wait to dine in another time as I think this is the best burger I've had in a long time. Good note being the size and quality of the product and that you can order it to your liking of cooking; medium, med/well ect. The only let down was the custard dessert which was way too runny and with an overwhelming amount if rose water. All in all, a great spot and I'll be back for sure. Keep up the ood work guys

Best burgers in North/west Melbourne - hands down! We have been looking for a dependable burger joint in our suburb and are so excited to find it. I have become very discerning with my burgers lately and this won due to the fresh, generous ingredients and lovely bun. Menu is very flexible and therefore slightly confusing (you can build your own) but the numbered suggestions are interesting. I went for my old favourite of beef patty, blue cheese and bacon and was rewarded big time. Fries portions are huge! May appear a bit more expensive overall for burgers but I am very happy to pay a few more bucks for a great quality burger. Also, after forking out $30 for the famous Merrywell burger (which was excellent... But $30!!!) this is a very good value alternative. Thanks!

Just eat.... Having enjoyed the Babu experience a few times here and over at Prahran/Windsor, dinner last night was another win. This time I ordered a chicken burger with maple bacon and caramelised onion; first off, it takes only a matter of 5-10 minutes to arrive after ordering, having been cooked fresh. Secondly, the quality of the burger is outstanding, everything freshly prepared and made-to-order. I could just eat that maple bacon all day...
This place is great. I almost ate two burgers. High quality meat and good fries (they have chips too).
Late night dinner on the way home and was surprised how delicious the meat patties were. Fresh ingredients and thick cut chips were excellent. Might try the free delivery next time.

'Time of my life' burger. I am a regular frequenter to Babu Burger in Prahran and have always loved it. I was working late at night in the office and decided to order a burger and some chips. How do I describe how much I enjoyed my meal? When I began chomping on my burger I slowly realised I was singing Time of my Life by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes (theme song from dirty dancing). The burger was packaged so well that there wasn't any spillage, the meat was yummy and succulent, and they appreciated my request for extra onion and pickles. The chips were not soggy. Whoever designed the packaging is a saint, so much delivery is ruined by packaging that makes the food moist. Anyway, I think Babu is the most underrated burger joint in Melbourne. The food is always delicious and the meat is always fresh.

Man I love meat, almost as much as I love drugs!” The Burger… “The Untitled” – custom made by your’s truly, honestly I don’t know what else to say except we attempted to re-create the Bacon Royale from “The Royale Brothers” – currently our number 1 on the Burger Podium. After much discussion, we decided on this Burger (apologies for poor quality image) and it wasn’t bad. But the pack weren’t that impressed and the customisation on Babu’s menu really threw everyone off, however it came down to the taste, which mind you was dependent on how you wanted your meat cooked – rare, medium rare. Oh and don’t forget the choice of either a 150, 220 or 300gr patty.
Good wedges and decent burgers. We got the extra large 300g and the blue cheese burger. The 300g burger was good, but I felt like it needed more flavours to complement it (you can pay extra and add condiments but you already pay a bit for the burger). The blue cheese burger has a good amount of extras (egg, crispy bacon, onion) but the blue cheese was overpowering. Overall good experience. Was a bit cold in the restaurant itself, they could use some heating in the peak of winter.

The beef in these burger is a standout. Nice and juicy, the buns are soft and crisp and don't over shadow the burger. Both cuts of chips were great. Wedges fantastic. Crunchy, not dry or too oily. And the home made sauces are great. Good beer range as well. I will be back over and over. Only negative is the price is a high, But i spose it is worth it. Great great place!!

One of the best Melbourne burger joints (my new favourite). I loved them so much i went twice in two days! Make that thrice in 3 days!
