This unassuming cafe gets 5 stars from me because of its value for money, and the fact that it serves tasty food. Came here on a quest for hash browns and was not disappointed. Bacon and eggs on toast: well priced and delicious.
Close to UniMelb, food and drinks are great n worth money. Outside tables are always my favourite places during summer, with full of sunshine and 🌬️
Happy with the egg and bacon muffin and coffee deal. For the price it is well worth it and the service and closeness to university is a plus.

Honestly one of the best cafes with superb, cheap, student-friendly food! I'm so glad that it's so convenient to grab a coffee and lunch before/after classes in The Spot at uni. Matcha latte is one of the best I've had (at the very least twice a week for me) and burgers and sandwiches and wraps and fish and chips (sooo crispy) and and and, just to name a few food are delicious, delightful and delectable! Staff are really welcoming and friendly and it's a great escape from the stress of uni as well as a sneaky location with tables to study when you struggle to find a study spot elsewhere haha
Good quality food and huge portion. Attention all uni students, go here for a feed, you won't be disappointed! Tell me where else in melbourne can you get a huge meal starting at $8.50? If only I knew about this place earlier when I was at uni. Would have saved so much money.
I love the food, the coffee is amazing and the customer service always makes me come back! My favourite food to get is the Big Al's burger :)
Has nice range of food. Excellent customer service with friendly helpful staff. Dish was very tasty and enjoyed the smoothy. Close to Melbourne univerity which is helpful for me.
Been here countless times for lunch and have always been greeted by friendly staff and a broad selection of cafe food. They have a good selection of fresh salads (refreshing during warm days). For the colder days, I'd recommend their Cajun Chicken focaccia which is toasted. If you have time (10 minutes), they serve a really nice steak sandwich served with chips. Avoid the Fish and Chips (the fish is really bad).
Friendly little cafe serving up good food and fast. Coffee is good to boot! Perfect for when you are in a rush.
Had the pasta cabonara (even comes with a little serving of parmesan powder - yum!
Books N Bites Cafe is great spot to get a Coffee or a feed, the Coffee is made perfectly and the food is also prepared just right ✅

Amazing service! The chai latte is almost perfect, just a little too sweet for my taste.
Nicely located around the corner from the Melbourne university and Royal Melbourne hospital in a quiet street, is a nice clean cafe with generous servings of good food. Missed the 'books' part of the books n bites cafe, but enjoyed the outdoor seating on one of Melbourne's rare sunny days.

The staff are always friendly, the food is cooked perfectly, the tables are clean. I couldn't ask for more. I get the bacon and eggs for $11.90. That's a very reasonable price. I love going here before morning classes. I'd definitely recommend here.

Great staff, really nice food at reasonable prices, much preferred to the cookie cutter eateries in the area. I try to eat there as much as possible when working in the area. Support locally owned small businesses!

Came for a coffee and a quick bite of food and was very pleased. The coffee was nice and strong, yet had a smooth finish. Expansive range of sweets and savouries.
Nice hot chocolate, it was ready very quickly despite a busy day.
