Everything was beautifully presented, especially the Duck Apicius. Two tender pieces of duck meat arrived with a crisp top layer, sticky from a caramel reduction and slightly pink in the middle. Segments of fennel cut through the sweetness of the dish, while wedges of grilled nectarine were the cherry on top. Although the caramel was supposedly spicy, there was only the slightest hint of hotness. It hardly mattered; the plate was practically licked clean
Melbourne’s another Just Wow! Experience Wouldn't want any of a better experience. Great service wonderful artwork and the culture in this place is very strong. Great place to explore the 3 levels in the Gallery and amazing place for a day out with the fam. If you want to be able to see everything it isn't a 5 minute job so make sure you have plenty of time to come here. But would not expect nothing more. It's got a nice food place on the ground floor prices are average but still isn't cheap like some places. Got some great Photos while I was there.

I like it very much. The beautiful paintings and art of Australian artists are really spectacular. I enjoyed the environment very much. Highly recommended for those who like to get familiar with art of aboriginals and signs used in their crafts and paintings. The staff are friendly and helpful. You can get there easily by tram or train…enjoy it!
We went in expecting it to be your usual museum with vast galleries and paintings but it is very big and has 3-4 floors filled with exhibitions, art, modern and contemporary exhibits.
You could easily spend 3-4 hours here and possibly more if you like their exhibits.
When we were there, 3 floors of the exhibitions were free and there was a special floor for channel which requires admission fee.
A fantastic place to take shelter & step into other worlds & other times.
The outdoor area at the rear was packed with happy kids splashing around in the pink water on a summer’s day.
We meandered through the galleries, from first century pottery to British & European works & then mid century to modern works.
Great museum. Free to enter. Both first and second levels are full of paintings , sculptures and other art pieces from Europe and Asia.
Only a few minutes walking from city center and very close to the train station.
Highly recommend it to anybody in Melbourne.
Minimum time is 3 hours.
A world class gallery. Definitely Australia’s best with a very nicely curated collection that changes 2-4 times per year. Good interactive environment as well as holiday activities for kids and big kids to keep themselves occupied. Currently showing parts Pablo Picasso’s collection, including his works and his days compatriots and colleagues. Amazing
Relaxing Sunday afternoon wandering through the collections. Great atmosphere, well designed - even the transition between different floors was smooth. So good it's free entry, bags can be left at the cloakroom. Spent about 2 hours exploring and still have more to see for a future visit.
