New addition to ELLA dining precinct, this establishment is a smaller cafe compared to their other outlets and thus is limited in lunch options.

They unfortunately ran out of buns for burgers (my workmate took their last portion) so I opted for a Napolitan pasta, simple but effective. The blend of tomato, basil and parmesan along with some al dente penne is a textbook winner and decently priced.

I also got a side of sweet potato fries which also is a safe bet and was served with a spicy mayo. My workmate was served with a small side of chips alongside his burger which he wasn’t too pleased with and there was a mixup with my sweet potato fries (I was given potato fries instead) which was quickly remedied.

We also opted for some dessert and coffee, I wish I had tasted my latte before the sweets hit my mouth but the velvety texture and strength was apparent. Their popular lemon tart was indeed tangy and the meringue was light and sugary. The shortcrust pastry was stuck to the base and was difficult to peel off, not as crumbly as I’d like. Their hazelnut soft & crunchy however was a winner, the nutty hazelnut flavour with a crispy praline gave it a textual delight.

Although there were some standouts there were also some minor flaws as aforementioned. Service could have been more friendly and improved such as instead of taking away the fries they could have left them there. Definitely come and try their coffee and pastries, a little expensive but worth the indulgence.

Beautiful desserts and pastries with coffee..cake and coffee deal at $9.50. The service is great too with a smiling friendly server. This place has ample of seating. The chai latte is great with enough spices on it.

Worth getting to know Ella in Melbourne CBD. I can’t lie, I make sure my city traverse leads me right by Reverie for a coffee and lemon tart!

This cute little pastry shop is a recent addition to Melbourne Central, and is a little out of the way; tucked away in the ELLA precinct. It's definitely worth locating though, as they make a fabulous coffee and also have the most divine pastries.

It's only a small shop front, but there is a small eating area that is simple but comfortable; and quite a nice place to escape the hustle and bustle of the shopping centre. Staff were lovely and service was excellent, with our coffees arriving quickly. We shared a hazelnut crunch cake and it was irresistible. So many layers of perfection, and beautiful to look at; French patisserie at it's best.

The pastries aren't cheap, but taking into account the work involved, I think it's worth it for a decadent treat. The pastries are also available in large take home sizes, and they all look stunning. I'm so glad I tried this little spot at Central, as the lure of those heavenly pastries will definitely have me back again!

Great new cafe addition to Melbourne Central. The staff are really friendly and bubbly. I have tried both the custard berry baked donut and almond croissant so far. The donut is very fluffy and light with a delicious vanilla custard. Almond croissant is crisp on the outside, but flaky, and has good almond flavour.

Service: Great staff. Friendly with an outgoing feel. Informative and always has a smile on.

Food:

Lemon Tart (4/5) - if you love some tang in your desserts with a bit of sweet but full of lemon flavour, this tart is for you! Smooth curd and didnt feel overly heavy and was perfect for my taste buds. The tart itself was kept well crisp and held its shape with every bite, giving it a great texture contrast to the curd. The meringue on top was also well done and melted in your mouth. The chocolate coin that came on top was dark chocolate and paired yet again quite well with the overall dessert.

Unfortunately I couldnt try their other options for the day as many (most) had nuts and I am allergic so didnt want to risk it. My friend did say that the hazelnut chocolate cake had a great chocolate and hazelnut balance and definitely had a great amount of hazelnut taste.

Would go again for their other desserts!

Note: I did go during the ELLA promotion and had it for free. Was definitely worth it even when it was free (quality did not go down).

The sweets and counter items don't look very nice at all so I wasn't expecting much from the coffee, but it's actually quite nice. Extra hot as requested with nice Soy Boy milk and good tasting beans. Service was friendly and quick as well. Would visit again.

Delicious lemon tart, sublime berry brownie and a hazelnut cake that was just like a Ferraro Rocher chocolate! So so good, and the coffee was pretty spot on, the perfect accompaniment to the beautiful 🍰. Staff were super friendly! Can’t wait to come back and try the savoury menu.

We tried their almond croissants and also their coffe. The lady baristas who took our order just amazing and so polite. She even make us took 2 croissants because of her hospitality. The taste of the croissants was so good and nice. To be honest this is the second time we have croissants in a day. In the morning we just wen to the famous LUNE croissants and gonna compared with this but overall taste almost the same

Small cafe at the entrance to Melbourne Central. Almond croissant was excellent and the coffee not too bad. Would have liked a proper plate and cup rather than a bag and a takeaway cup. I guess they do not expect people who want to eat in. Apart from that the service was good.

As a dessert lover, I can say I have try most of their little cakes. Beautifully made, not too sweet, and delicious. Anyone who wants a place to chill, this would be a great place to hang out with a coffee.
