Review Mille And B - Melbourne

Catherine Teo
Have been hearing my friends talking about the crepe. And finally I got to try... I bought hazelnut chocolate flavour n taro flavour.. Omg, the Hazelnut chocolate flavour was sinfully delicious!!! Taro tastes good too . The crepe is super duper thin!! N yes, that's what you call CREPE! I will come back for other flavours.

My partner got me a birthday cake from this place and it was amazing. It was Hojicha(roasted green tea) flavour but I think the taste can be a bit more sweeter, other than that, it was beautiful. Would love to try another flavour too.

First visit was few years ago which was hard to find this hidden germ in the city, but it was all worth it. We we’re impressed by the presentation, flavor, and texture. It became one of my favorite places in Melbourne when I feel like afternoon tea. Got these pieces as birthday cake this year, the black sesame was the best in my opinion. Taro was not as good as expected though, but earl grey was very nice except for the top gelatin made layer was not my cup of tea. Tiramisu was not bad! And I heard from my friend that the staff was very friendly when they picked up.

Usually not a fan of crepe cakes, but these are really nice and soft. They are not too sweet either! We had the tiramisu and cookies n cream, and would say that the tiramisu is the winner out of the two. The macaron is kinda sweet, but the taste is not bad. Bought a packet of cookies and they are delicious!!! Will be returning to buy their shokupan next time. Apparently they are only available on Fridays and Saturdays. Dining in is possible in the courtyard area.

these crêpe cakes are to die for! super light yet flavourful! i tried the mango one and the earl grey one and they were delicious. their drinks are very well made too. everything is very impressive. service is wonderful too! this is a hidden gem and i can’t recommend it highly enough! (we all sat on one table just for the photo, there’s definitely more seats and tables haha!)

This cute little cake shop was well and truly hidden. Initially it was difficult to find - however, when I did I was glad. Awesome, fresh cakes, prepared by pastry chefs that are meticulous. So much passion and care has gone into creating their cakes and it really shows.

Loved the crepe cake and the coffee was perfect! Service was good too. Will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu.

Place is hidden. The cakes are beautiful and very well presented. The taro was my favourite one. The price is unfortunately quite expensive but I'm glad I've tried this place.

Insta: melbfoodie_mark
YT: MelbFoodieMark
** Check them out for more food reviews in Melbourne!
-
A hidden cafe in Carlton known for its signature matcha crepe cake! Although I live nearby, it took me awhile to find this place (go up grey stairs from Bouverie Street). The cafe itself was beautifully decorated and very cozy inside - a perfect place for a coffee date.
Matcha crepe cake was fluffy without being too sweet. It was right in the sweet spot where sweetness and bitterness of matcha came together wonderfully - very delicate and well balanced. I also liked how it was kept super light and moist and went ridiculously well with latte. I'd love to visit again to try other cakes they had!

Thanks for the review from angel, make easier to find the shop, easy on street parking, if only for take away 15 minutes parking will be enough, Small but cozy shop, quiet bit a variety there, colourful, brought taro, green tea ones, not too sweet and creamy, good for change to Asian fusion cake 🍰

Jasmine tea Mille crepe: light floral taste, not too sweet
Flat white: a bit too milky/ creamy but was pretty smooth
Hot chocolate: not bad but too sweet for me

Previously had a whole matcha adzuki cake: strong matcha flavour and not too sweet

Bit expensive but good place to sit down and have afternoon tea with friends
Location was hard to find, had to go up a flight of stairs
JOELLE
My friend got me some cakes the other day.
We had strawberry, taro, matcha, and cookiesncream in order from fave to least fave.
They're all really fluffy and not too sweet, matcha tasted tad bit artifical though and the cookies one was a bit dry but I really liked the other two. I think taro is definitely something to try out!

Follow for more,
xx
Jo

Love their cakes! So delicious and yum! I definitely enjoyed both flavours I’ve tried: pandan coconut and tiramisu

I felt like having a cake after brunch and I remembered there’s a popular crepe cake shop in the area, so I decided to go there. Mille and B Patisserie is not exactly easy to find. Even on google maps it doesn’t show you exactly how to get to the right location. But once you find the cute little café, it’s all the worthwhile as the crepe cake is delicious, highly recommended.

🔆LOCATION🔆

Mille and B Patisserie café is situated within the university district of Carlton hidden inside he Swanston Square apartment complex. The actual address of number 28 Bouverie Street is the main entrance to the residential lobby, however the public cannot enter through this entrance.

To the left of the lobby entrance, there is the car park entrance. Walk pass this and you will see a lift and stairwell that winds up and around. Take the stairs and go up to the upper level. As you exit you will see open space area with lots of greenery. This is the inner space of the apartment complex and the café is directly on the right hand side.

Note: Supposedly you can enter via the second residential lobby area on Swanston Street but currently this is closed off due to construction.

The café itself is small yet quaint and modern. Seating is very limited but will fit up to maximum of about 16 people.

🔆SERVICE🔆

For a Friday afternoon, it was rather quiet with only a few customers which was quite nice as the café is quite small. It was relaxing sitting enjoying the nice scenery of the ‘Winter Garden’ outside.
Staff is friendly and attentive.

🔆MENU/PRICE🔆

Most mille crepe cakes costs $8.50 each slice.

Flavours include:
Taro
Durian
Sweet Salted Caramel
Black Sesame Charcoal
Pandan & Coconut
Strawberry Milk
Jasmine Tea Honey
Matcha & Adzuki

🔆VERDICT🔆

There was so many different crepe cake flavours, I was rather undecided. I asked the sales assistant for advice and she said the most popular flavours is Taro, Pandan & Coconut and Matcha. Even these 3 flavours sounded amazing. I finally settled on the matcha crepe cake.
The matcha green tea flavour was light yet distinct, there was light layers of matcha pastry cream and also a layer of Chantilly cream topped with sweet read bean with matcha chocolate and matcha flavoured ganache! What a delight. The 20 layers of crepes was very pretty and super thin. Delicious!
Cookielessvee
I was lucky enough to have one of these beautifully crafted Taro crepe cakes. Each layer is perfect with cream and taro in between each layer. The taste is so delicious, sweet, strong and the crepe adds the perfect texture. A perfect place for a crepe cake.

The sweets are so aesthetically pleasing. The cakes are not too sweet- perfect when paired with coffee or a cup of tea. I had the strawberry and matcha. I couldn’t resist also boxing up a box of macaroons along with the lychee and mango cake too! Not shown here as my parents gobbled it all up. Winning!

Btw really grateful to the staff. I got a bit lost finding this gem. You can call them to rescue you or look for the big 17 above the building and a set of stairs. 😂

Probably the best crepe cakes in Melbourne! I love the crepe cakes here and how much flavour variety they have! We tried a selection of different flavours, and my favourite had to be the Taro one. The ratio of crepe to cream is perfect, and it’s very light and not too sweet either. The only thing is that it’s a little bit on the expensive side, but they use high quality ingredients, and crepe cakes are quite hard to make, so I can understand why. Will definitely be back to try their other flavours!
Fat Sushi
Was having high expectation when I first tried it and their Pandan & coconut crepe cake kinda disappoints me, the pandan taste is mild. Their taro crepe cake is okay. The place is cozy but it is a bit hard to find. They sell a whole cake too that you can preorder from them. Overall not a bad crepe cake but I would say it’s overrated.
Pierre Pie
Really hard too look for this placed . And selection choice not too much , the Mille crepe quality average only . The dining atmosphere not bad ^^ , price reasonable #

5/5. Love the millie crepes, and the fit out is nice and calming. I could come here everyday and not get tired of it.
Fatcat
Mille and B Patisserie have the best crepe cakes going round - the place is a bit hidden but probably a good thing for me that not everyone knows about it yet! My favourite is the salted caramel, although the coconut and pandan is also very nice (tbh they're all very delicious, very delicate, very soft and creamy).
Y
The best crepe cake in Melbourne. They were so beautiful and delicious. My favourite place to visit in Melbourne.

A small cafe, hidden upstairs, took me a few tries to find. A good selection of flavours, which I have tried all of them and they were all so good!!

Each slice costed $8.50 and there are other desserts such as macaroons, cookies and banana bread. They sell coffee and other drinks as well.

Beautiful and calming interior, and really nice and polite staff.
LittleM
We ordered a lychee and longan cake for a friend's birthday. The cake was light and fluffy and the flavours complemented well. I think the cake is perfect for 8 pax..since we manage to finish it 😅 If you enjoy Asian flavoured cakes.. I would definitely recommend this place!

Never knew Mille & B had a cafe! Always tried their stuff when friends ordered their cakes! You don’t get a lot of Mille Crepe cakes in Melbourne and I’m so happy we have Mille and B here!

The cake is absolutely amazing, it’s just the right amount of cream and sweetness. And the cake just slices so smoothly when you’re cutting into it!

Can’t wait to go back to chill while eating these cakes!! 💕💕💕💕
Hello. Imnikki
This place is super hard to locate but once you have found them, you will never want to leave. That or you'll just keep returning again and again.

I first tried Millé and B's cakes way before there was a brick and mortar shop and I have fallen in love since. What's not to love about these crepe cakes? 20 layers of deliciousness, with the most beautiful flavours combination. Super light, and incredibly moist, there's no stopping at just one slice.

My absolute favourite is without a doubt, the durian crepe cake, but if you want to try this, you must order a whole cake as they don't sell this by the slice. Other must try include the pandan coconut and taro, while my friend swears by the tiramisu.

Amazing cakes, and Bee is ever so welcoming and lovely. Do drop by, have a chat and eat some cakes!

Anyone who’s been here will attest that it’s not an easy place to find which qualifies it as a hidden gem - because the crepe cakes are definitively unique and delicious. We discovered and hunted down this place because they supply their Signature matcha green tea cake to a Japanese restaurant we dined at and it was unforgettable.

This required us to discover this place for a visit to sample its other offerings and needless to say, the tiramisu that we had in house was light, moist and just right. And we ordered for take away to share with the rest of the family a taro, salted caramel, matcha green tea and lychee and logan slice of cake. They also serve good coffee but what I also liked a lot was their tea! It’s so flavoursome and I must say that their peppermint tea which we ordered is one of the best I’ve tasted - so rich and full of flavour. Supplied by Chamellia, and according to Mille & B staff available for purchase online, it’s one to own! Very friendly and nice staff!

The waitress is pretty and very polite and kind. The cakes are great and the surrounding environment is REAL chilled. Strongly suggest!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Have ordered some mango mille crepe cakes from them before and absolutely loved them so decided to pop into their physical shop and ordered matcha and taro flavoured ones. Both of them are lovely. The shop is a bit hard to find among the on-going constructions but it has a nice ambience.

Ordered quite a few cakes from them and was glad they opened up a physical store.Popped in to have their daily special cake and the matcha mille crepe and it was lovely. The cakes were very light and i loved it.

We have been to this cafe many times. We actually have ordered the birthday cakes for our friends before they even opened this cafe. The cafe is a bit hidden so you can call it a hidden gems!

We had matcha , taro, salted caramel, and pandan. They were really delicious! But our favourite is pandan.
Linda
Beautiful - in and out!! The cakes were wonderful to look at and delicious to eat. The texture was smooth, soft and fluffy. The flavours were delicate and well balanced. The cakes were creative indeed. Even better, the drinks menu was well done. The coffee was good and so was their Matcha. So impressed!
Eatwithbonny
Lovely cafe for hangout with your girls. The place is nicely decorated, very cozy.

Crepes are nicely done as well, not too sweet and soft. They also serve coffee, tea and chocolate. They use my fav chocolates brand “mörk”.

Will I be back? Yes!

A cute cafe. I was thankful for the iced options you could have for all of the drinks. The dessert selection was a bit minimal but it could have been due to the time. Had a matcha latte and it was refreshing and sweet.
Donniechu
We went at a later time so there weren’t many dessert options. :( Was able to find the location through reading the other reviews so many thanks LOL 💖 It’s pretty small and quaint! Not a bad experience, but the chai had chunks of spices that were a little too much even for me who loves spiced teas.
Binsueat
Had the pandan coconut one. Good coconut flavour for sure. Cozy decor, but table seems a bit too low. Cake takes average 3 days to make, one small piece for 8.5, expensive or not, you decide

This place was a struggle to find but when you found it, the satisfaction was like finding Wally from a where's Wally book! I'm no coffee expert but the latte tasted like a latte 👍. The cakes was delicious, my first crepe cake (macha and banana chocolate) kinda small hence why I ordered two. Super friendly staff.

The best crepe cakes in Melbourne!
Very flavourful, light and smooth texture and perfect crepe to cream ratio!
For the full review please click on the link below :)
http://mishventures.com/misheats/mille-b/

Beautiful cafe setting, although it was quite hard for me to get there! Finally understood that I had to walk up a flight of stairs. Was here to pick up a mango cake (no picture, demolished by the kids) and I thought the crepe was well executed - not too sweet, yummy, some mango slices in between. I would definitely (definitely!!) come back for the Pandan crepe which I wanted to order (but lost bcos my friends don’t enjoy Pandan..... why....)

Crepe cake

The matcha crepe cake lured me to this little cafe but to my surprise this place is well hidden inside a building. Located inside "Winters Garden" this little cafe has all the sweets you need and coffee as well .... All baked in-house !
StepiiGM
Pretty little cafe with cosy ambience, but the mille crepe cakes are overrated. I had the strawberry one for share and was surprised it was not as soft and smooth as everyone is saying. Can still taste a bit of the crispy crepes at the edge and I would love some more cream too!
Khorry Sila
I had matcha and oreo yesterday. The matcha is nice and soft which means it freshly made on that day and the matcha flavour is not that strong. But the cookies and ceam was already too dry so i reckon that it was from the day before. The place is nice but i hope you can improve the quality of your cake.
Some Bunee Loves Food
I love these crepe cakes but thought this was OK only. Maybe too bitter or too much cream but i didn't really feel like having a second piece after my small first one.
Lorli
I agreed this is abit hidden inside a apartment building. The shop is small but nicely designed & decorated. I would have ordered the matcha flavor but they ran out so got the cookies & cream instead. The serve is small though the crepes is so smooth and delicious. And the green tea matcha has just the right balance!

Pretty nice cozy place to have a bit quite time with one or two friends. A bit hard to find coz the construction is under way nearby, but worth trying

Good atmosphere in this little coffee shop. Their strayberry cake is the best . Good service but the price is a bit expensive . Vchoice of Coffee is not much.

Got the durian cake. Omg! It was the best cake ever! The crepes were perfect and it felt like half a durian was contained within the layers.

The most hidden cake shop! We decided to come here for some coffees and cakes after following this crepe cake shop for any years. Unfortunately the location was much more complicated than we thought. It was located in the apartment block area making and we found it after we saw a small sign on Bouverie St.

The shop is rather small with 4-5 small tables. We ordered the Matcha Crepe cake which had perfect layer of crepes and the perfect amount of matcha cream. The Logan Japanese Shortcake was fluffy and creamy and not too sweet.

Great to see this shop finally open but i wish it was a bit easier to find. Will keep it in mind for future birthday cakes.

3.5

Had a slice of their sweet salted caramel crepe cake and it was good. Perhaps it's because I'm not a huge fan of crepe cakes in general, but I found the one offered here to be good but a little on the bland side.

That being said, I really enjoyed the crunch the popcorn added. The popcorn was well seasoned with the caramel topping, and they put them fresh on so the popcorn won't get soggy from fridging, which I appreciated! The salted caramel was light and added a good depth of flavour to the whole cake, but without it the cake itself was slightly less fragrant than I would like. Will come back to try their other cakes and perhaps non-crepe ones too!

Friendly staff and nice little cosy Cafe.

My friend brought us two little Coconut Pandan cake. The coconut felt strong enough, toasty and full of aroma. However, the pandan did not really shine enough. I could not really taste it. The texture was good enough though. Soft and creamy.

I would recommend:
-Pandan and Coconut Crepe
-Tiramisu (if you like strong coffee taste)
-Strawberry (If you like average crepes)
Was confusing to find at first but if you check their instagram story they show you how to get to their cafe which was handy

4.5
Such a cute and quaint cafe located very close to my friends apartment! Just a warning it might be very hard to find but just take the staircase and it’ll lead you right up to it.

Ordered:
Cookies and cream crepe $8.5: crepes are super thin and hold the right amount of sweetness I love the crunch from the Oreos in between the endless layers of crepes. It’s not too sweet and it has just the right amount of fresh cream. Although it is a bit expensive for the proportion, if you’re here for quality time and cakes then it’s totally worth it.

Tiramisu crepe $8.5: This had a surprisingly a strong coffee taste, this cake however wasn’t as textured as the cookies and cream but held a punch of flavour. I loved how the slightly tart mascarpone cheese cuts through!

Would visit again if I feel like splurging myself on some expensive cake! The interior is super clean and cute, with many cute and comfortable seatings. Great spot to chill with small groups.
The best crepe cake I tried in MEL, in the past week I had tried matcha , oreo and pandan&coconut. Matcha is the best one for me:)

Also really good atmosphere and friendly stuff
MILTON
Very much enjoyed the crepe cake here. My favourite was the strawberry one! Me and my partner came back here about 3 times last week to try all the different flavours. Very stylish interior. Quite location, was a bit hard to find at the start but eventually got there. WIR? Yes

We had these crepe cakes from their online store before Mille and B opened up a physical store.. we actually finished an entire crepe cake between the 2 of us..
Their crepe cakes were amazing and when we heard that they had a store we just had to give it a go.. Was humbled to meet the owners of the shop although we didn’t get a chance to say hello to B..
Beautiful little store with quite limited seating not really suited for large groups but able to squeeze if there isn’t much people around..
Crepe cakes were very delightful and not too sweet.. I would recommend the salted caramel with popcorn on top or balsamic strawberry (my favorite & must order) crepe cakes..
Overall great experience and will be back again next time..
Iris Ng
Seriously the best crepe cakes around! With unique flavours (including durian) these cakes are moist and will keep you going back for more! Ambiance is also cosy and cute! 5 stars!

Mille and B Patisserie is such a cute cafe! It’s quite tricky to find, located on the third level on what looks like apartments. The cafe is soooooo cute and quiet, perfect to come hang with a couple of mate or just to study. I tried most of the crepe cake: cookies and cream, pandan and coconut, strawberry, vanilla and matcha. My favourite was the strawberry one!
Anto
Lovely place and staff. We tried the matcha, salted oreo and cream mille fleur. They were alright but the salted caramel was too sweet for us, the matcha was a bit bland and the oreo was pretty good. The matcha latte was very smooth and perfectly sweet but the flavor was not too strong. Overall everything is alright but the price is too high considering the size and the taste of the cake.
Sandy Pok
Staff are friendly and extremely flexible with pickup times. Ordered the pandan coconut cake and it was well received with my friends. Great job opening a cafe Mille & B, I have no doubt this place will be busy during the coming months!

Amazing owners! Such a friendly and welcoming place with a great ambiance. Cakes are fresh as daisies by the lovely B! Coffee is on point with Small Batch in the house. And did I mention the exquisite looking piece of machinery pumping it out? Sleek San Remo Racer - phew! Favourite cakes are the Matcha and Tiramisu for me. Much ❤️

5/5 Highly recommend! Ordered salted caramel & tiramisu flavoured mille crepe, mocha and chocolate macarons. Everything was perfect. Their cakes are great to go with coffee or tea. Would come back for sure
Leiliang913
It’s a little bit hard to find the store. The place is small but cozy. I ordered flat white and tiramisu cake. Both were not bad(3.5/5), and the staff were very friendly.
Veronica Tiow
Lovely and yummy cakes, tastes very well balanced and natural flavours. Handcrafted and baked in their shop premises and always sold out, so they're really fresh everyday. Highly recommended to try all the delightful cakes baked by the Paris trained patissier. Their coffee or matcha drinks are so refreshing to relax and chill your day!
Piggyeatalot
I love Mille and B! They used to only make whole cakes for delivery and now they have opened a store and I went on their first soft opening day.

I bought all their cake flavours because there are only 3 at the moment: vanilla, tiramisu and green tea. It’s not hard to understand why they had these three flavours on sale on their soft launch period cos they tasted amazing! The vanilla one is just a touch sweet for me, but the other two, green tea and tiramisu are my favourite. The crepes are so light and I counted at least 10 layers to the cake.

I have tried Lady M in HK and I am sorry Lady M, I reckon Mille and B is so much yummier. I can’t wait to try their pandan flavour and durian flavour!
