I went swimming with mermaids! 🧜‍♀️

But, even though in the past they were known to be associated with misfortune and death, luring and attracting errant sailors off course, drowning them and even summoning storms, sinking ships... in my opinion and experience, I have noting to complain 🥰😍👆

And yes, while I’m sure your most familiar with the Disney version of ‘The Little Mermaid,’ this is no fairytale, not at all! 🧚‍♀️

Little Mermaid has the most beautiful and friendly creatures running in and they bring to life all your dreams about the ocean 🌊☀️ and obviously the cutest little naught or nice acai bowls and vegan boards! 🥰

Yes, mermaids are complete real and the person that disagrees with me, well, here’s your warning: pay these guys a visit, get ready to be slapped by a mermaid tail and wake up to see how REAL this magic is 😂🧜‍♀️😍 what a gorgeous place! Plus 4 acai bowls to choose from?!

Little Mermaid is beautifully located at Mermaid beach and they have just renovated their place during COVID coming up with the most incredible and posh, chic vibe, place! Seriously, it’s definitely a match for the best Melbourne cafes and it’s a place where you’ll happily stay for hours and hours. I would say it’s perfect for dates as the whole place is inspiring and will makes anyone say ‘wooooow’. Plus it you live on the Gold Coast it probably because you love the beach and sea and it his place transmits and speaks for itself with its deco.

The menu is quite extensive but we visited determined to get some of their most beautiful dishes and very simmer vibes. And that could only be an acai bowl! Acai is by Fruity Petruz, a brand that I have tried recently and that I’ve absolutely loved the taste! Here’s what we had:

Strawberries & Cream - one of their vegan and dairy free acai bowls with berry acai, coconut whip buckwheat & agave granola, topped with strawberries, toasted coconut and a delicious coconut ice cream. Taste of the acai is great like I mentioned and it gets better with all the toppings and especially the granola and coconut icecream! Seriously impressive! Size-wise were are two sizes: normal or large. And to be honest I don’t really know which one we end up having, but I think it was the normal one. It did have a good portion but I would be hungry if I were to only have that, so many I would advise to pick the large size. Overall it’s a great looking and tasting bowl and I would have it again (times 2 😂)

Caramelized Banana & Coconut - my friend picked up another one of their bowls which came with berry acai, toasted coconut granola, fresh banana and caramelized banana whip. We added a sneaky white chocolate slice and some peanut butter and he also loved the combo in terms of taste. In terms of size, he also felt that it was quite small and not too much acai for what is supposed to be an acai bowl.

Endless Summer - my friend had this juice with lemon, pineapple, cayenne pepper and I gave a little sip to try and while I personally wasn’t a fan and found the taste quite strong and intense, he loved it.

Berry Nice - I had to his smoothie with wild berries, honey, oat milk, lsa, strawberries and consistency and presentation were on point, with the little coconut flakes on top. I also think size is very good and not massive like other places and it was just the right amount. Taste wasn’t my ultimate favourite and I think it’s because of the oat milk that made it slightly more dense and ‘heavy’ and less sweet, and I know I’d have personally have enjoyed it more with coconut water or more frozen berries/banana, since I’m a sweet tooth person.

Almond Latte and Oat Flat White - we also had some coffees that came absolutely perfect and with the exact amount of froth. It would definitely a place where I would go just to get a coffee for sure 👌

Overall, it’s an 5/5 experience. Food was of great quality and although I wished the portion of acai would have been bigger and I wasn’t a huge fan of the smoothie, service was also impeccable and they are definitely one of the most chic and fashionable places where I’ve been. Would definitely visit again!
