Excellent coffee but skimped out on the 'jenga'. Used the cheap version called 'jumbling tower'. The stackability was awful. Utterly woeful. As a Jenga enthusiast, I was concerned about the integrity of this establishment. Nevertheless, the service and cordiality was enough to rectify my initial displeasure. Bravo.
Delicious well priced food, super friendly staff, comfy seating and a funky interior. The perfect place to sit and do some work, study or read a book. Highly recommended!
So when Jess and James Wren moved to the Gold Coast three years ago, they found little ‘Melbourne-style’ coffee, hence the idea of starting a laneway espresso bar on the coast serving the coffee they love. Enter Caffeine Kings, the former laundromat transformed into one of the funkiest fit outs in town. From the street, you’ll have to look hard to find Caffeine Kings. What is otherwise a dark-walled subway-like tunnel dotted with 44 gallon drum tables and a walled servery is lifted by an amazing wall of graffiti by artist John Kaye, whose art can also be seen on The 4217.
