My favourite Indian restaurant. I have been coming here for years. I have tried many dishes at Ajantha, and all are the best tasting I have experienced. The staff are very lovely. Would highly recommend!
Family owned and run. We have been eating here for more than 12 years. The first place I ate at while feeding my baby as a brand new mum. Not an eyelid batted. Such a welcoming cosy environment. Not flash but clean and warm. The food is delicious and consistent. Fairly priced. Covid has hit this business hard. Staff shortages affect waiting times yes but it’s worth the wait. Plan ahead. Order at 5pm. You must try their paneer cheese naan. It’s to die for. I always eat it in the car on the way home. I drive 20mins to get this Indian. The menu is diverse, if you are vegan just ask and they will adapt one of their vegetarian dishes. I’m not into hot spices so I always get mild curries. My husband loves the hot stuff and he is always happy with the heat factor. I always see people of Indian heritage eating here which is always a good sign. Support this small business they are awesome. I only wish that I lived closer so I could visit more often.
This popular little family run restaurant is situated in a row of shops/restaurants opposite the large South Morang Bunnings store. The restaurant is a warm, cosy place with some interesting graffiti styled artwork on the wall and BYO is welcomed. The owner is very attentive and remembers her regulars. We were greeted and seated without a booking on a Saturday night. Whilst we were there, the restaurant filled quickly and many takeaways also were serviced. The food is freshly prepared, delicious and tasty. Because it was busy, we had to wait for our food, but it was definitely worth the wait. We enjoyed an mixed tandoori platter and samosas, followed by Lamb Korma, Beef Chilly Masala, Butter Chicken, Gobi Mussalam, coconut rice and naan bread. The servings are generous and we walked out well sated! Thanks Ajantha.... we will return soon!
