We were recommended to try Pilgrims cafe in Milton. Quite a big cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Serving up vegetarian meals. It was super busy and after ordering we were told it would be a 30-40 min wait. Whilst we weren’t keen on waiting, the town was fairly busy everywhere. They have a range of burgers, wraps, pies and salads. We ordered a spinach pie which was sold out, so we got the Vegan one instead. It came served with your side of choice and we opted for the avo, greens and some feta and was a nice fresh meal (though they shouldn’t serve feta with a vegan pie). We also tried one of their burgers and selected the “Mountain burger”,
A huge burger with a mixed grain pattie, fried onion, pineapple, egg, lettuce, carrot, beetroot, tomato, cucumber, sprouts and a special sauce on a wholemeal roll. Quite nice and super big so you could easily share this. We also had the salad plate with carrots, beetroot, alfalfa, cucumber, lettuce, tabouli and hummus. I ordered the lentil pattie, but it was also sold out so they gave me the grain/brown rice one instead. Food here was nice, super fresh and healthy. The coffee is good, single O is used. They also have a bunch of juices and smoothies.
Great, wholesome food makes this cafe a perfect spot for brunch. Fairly large servings means it’s good value for money. Minor criticism was that the food took a while to come out as it was busy but appreciate that they notified patrons before they sat down. Worth a visit!
Pilgrims serve up great vegetarian food breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is ample seating options outside and indoors, however the cafe becomes very busy on weekends. On selective evenings Pilgrims serve up vegetarian Mexican, it's not authentic but I still love the atmosphere and flavours. The breakfast and lunch menus are also great! Only negative is that I've experienced some poor service from staff on a few visits.
Ahhhhh Pilgrims. It's so nice to be back.
For any that don't know Pilgrims is a long standing vegetarian / Whole-foods cafe. They were doing this before it became a fashion statement.
I was in for a post breakfast coffee & snack.
The coffee was a double shot flat white & the muffin was blueberry. The coffee was made perfectly, full cream excellent froff and the right temperature.
The blueberry muffin had that many blueberries, it was falling apart in my mouth. The edges had been baked until they were lightly crunchy. 10/10 for the baker.
I'm in town for a few weeks and will def. be back - which is my routine for this part of the world.

Super friendly staff, yummy vego food and juices and a lovely south coast feel. The best coffee in Milton. My favourites are the Bliss burger, and the spicy kidney bean pie. Pilgrims has put Milton on the map. The big brekky is huge! This place is an institution! 10/10
My sister and I journeyed from Durras to Sydney today and decided to take the heavy traffic option just so we could stop at Pilgrims in Milton for lunch. We phoned ahead 45 minutes beforehand knowing they'd be busy, and when we arrived they were just coming out from the kitchen ready to satiate our appetites. The veggie burgers I'd been raving about for months did not disappoint!! Filled to the brim with crunchy delicious ingredients and the perfect sauce-patty combo you are left feeling more than satisfied. A combination of friendly and helpful staff to boot makes this an absolute must when passing through Milton. Don't let the delay put you off. It's only a testament to how popular they really are
both with locals and travellers.
If you like sweet pancakes for breakfast, thier pancakes with the lot rock!
Pilgrims is the best place to stop off when heading down the coast. Great selection of veggie burgers, lovely and fresh.
Recommended. We went here for brunch on a Saturday morning on a recommendation from a work colleague, and were very impressed. Could have been somewhere in Glebe or Darlinghurst (or one of those places overseas frequented by the Lonely Planet crowd). Great, healthy breakfast selections; good coffee; and casual, trendy ambience.
Great vegie burgers, shame about the service. We came across this cafe on a trip up the coast. Would have to be one of the most impressive menus of vegetarian burgers I have come across, and I come from the Byron area so this is saying a lot. Our delicious burger was rather spoilt however by the rudeness of the young, tall blond man who served us. A restaurant in a little coastal town focussed on health and wholeness was the last place I would have expected arrogance and intolerance from its staff - I could have stayed in the city for that side order of attitude.
