Our absolute favourite coffee! Angus' passion for coffee shines through in every cup. Friendly faces and a tangible feeling of community. Highly recommend the chilli scrambled eggs on croissant!

Angus produces quite possibly the best espresso in Melbourne. Using Mikro beans, he extracts such a beautiful and complex flavour profile that some of the so called "best in Melbourne" are even unable to attain.
Apart from the excellent coffee, Angus is a true gentleman and the staff are very pleasant. The food is solid, and there is a good variety available from jaffles to your classic brunch options like eggs benedict.
If you're in Mitcham, stop by and get a long black from Project Black and hope that he's got some Ethiopian on rotation. You will not regret it.

Really love this place! Coffee is fantastic, really nice smooth flavour. Very decent size as well (pictured is my medium Capp getting through exam study). Also the service is beautiful! Every time I walk in I feel like Iām welcomed into their little community! Food looks amazing too but sadly havenāt had a chance to try yet.

The impeccable attention to detail is evident throughout, offering up amazing coffees, alongside a simple menu thatās paired with top quality produce and exceptional execution.
Iām pretty sure you couldnāt meet a nicer family that own Project Black!
Even if they are extremely busy, they always have time to ask howās your day- I really like that :)
The poached pear porridge was honestly one of the most delicious ones Iāve tried to date! I am a big eater but I couldnāt finish it (even though I really wanted to).
The highlight for me though were the Belgium Waffles they were almost too pretty to eat (almost).

I havenāt been back in a while as we moved house during the pandemic, but I miss the coffee! Always a great cup of coffee met with friendly faces and enthusiasm for coffee. Highly recommend, run by a family who work very hard to provide the community with quality coffee.
Love the coffee at Project Black! We have been visiting this cafe consistently for about four years and have found all the staff wonderful and friendly. The coffee and pastries are excellent. We rarely eat a full meal here as the kitchen is tiny which limits what can be offered on the menu - that is not their specialty. But if you are after coffee only, or coffee and a light snack, then I think this is the best place in Mitcham.
Love this local family owned business. The service is great, staff greet their regulars by name and the coffee is consistently delicious. From the milk to the butter Angus uses only top quality ingredients in his coffee and food. Well worth a visit.
Always a delight to go here. Sorry that today they had coffee machine trouble I certainly missed my great coffee and brunch. Looking forward to next week when they are back. Really worth a visit. Love these guys!
Wonderful spot for coffee. Seriously, the coffee here is really good, Angus takes pride in making it a consistently delicious result, and is always getting in speciality blends for those who want something different. Awesome coffee spot.
