What a good little surprise this bakery was... when you hear of the few things outback towns have one is always a bakery and Mitchell bakery certainly did not disappoint. While I was recommended Lamingtons, when a local walked past me with two bags of hotcross buns, I could not go past these! Great, friendly service, very accommodating.... and you MUST try their hotcross buns if theyre still available. These are to die for! Best invention I've seen ever CHOCOLATE-MINT! And the Butterscotch x date were pretty amazing too.
Oh wow the fruit buns from this bakery were the BEST I have ever had. I would drive out of my way to get them. Even the bag smells good after we ate them all in one day. My coffee was perfect too.
Absolutely love Mitchell and this bakery. Lots of tasty pies, sausage rolls and sweet delights. Great coffee.
A "must stop" on your outback trip. Great pies and morning tea goodies. Try the corn meat and white sauce pie. It's amazing!!!

Jokes, the best pastries ever, the 3x flavoured Turn-overs are my wife's addiction. Never ever has she experianced such a delight, and this is above what is sold on the coast and in major cities. My secret orgasm is the Corn-beef pie with white sauce, OMG I die when ever I bite in.
So what do we do? On our travels through Mitchell we pre-order the day before and get a box of mixed flavoured pies and the Boss gets her mixed box of turn-overs....... Just perhaps, city bakers may wish to journey out to Mitchel and perhaps be shown how it's done. love it
Coffee was hot and tasty, service was speedy and caramel slice and patty cake very nice
