stones throw is amazing! i came here a couple of moths ago and ordered the mexican bowl made vegan and it was so yummy. it was well priced and so filling that is was worth your money. recently the other week i came here again and ordered the açai bowl and it was honestly the best açai bowl i’ve ever had. so filling and lots of toppings. the staff here are always lovely and welcoming. thank you, stones throw!!
Finally, I can get a decent egg and bacon roll that isn't $16 and packed with rocket and crap that I don't want. I just want a good, plain, delicious egg and bacon roll, and Stone's Throw does it. Easily the best one in the area.

Best cafe on Were St. A sense of hipster inner melbourne feel to it, with very reasonable menu prices, amazing air roasted coffee, and some incredibly tasty and filling breakfast items. The staff are all very friendly and attentive, and I haven't had a bad experience here over the course of multiple visits recently. Would highly recommend! The porridge was deeelicious 😋
Very cute cafe up the top end of Were St with a modern hipster vibe (lots of blonde wood, indoor plants, tattooed staff etc). The menu is the usual mix of brunch fare but sets itself apart by being a few dollars cheaper than average (the smashed avo is $16 for instance), and the servings are also very generous, making it even better value. The coffee was note perfect and they have sparkling water on tap (so rare in Melbourne!). Service was slow but it was an unusually busy morning so I don’t think this would be a problem generally. A great addition to Monty. Keen to go back!
The best coffee I have had in a long time. Cafe has a wonderful atmosphere, always have great tunes playing. The staff are delightful and go out of their way to assist. The complimentary bubbly water is wonderful. All this plus table service.
Great little cafe, great takeaway options. Staff are always friendly, I have been 4 times now and the food has been consistently great 👍 I’ve tried the breakfast burrito and smashed avo. I have been with my Mum who tells me the coffee is great too.
Second visit since it opened- second really good plate of food. The Rueben sandwich was delicious and well made. The pickled carrot in the chicken aioli wrap was a great idea really tasty. The roasting of it made it really delicious. The coffee is good too, as is the service. The additional choice of sparkling or plain water is stand out.
This cafe could quickly become the best on Were.
Delicious food, friendly staff, suave interior, great coffee, all the staples on the menu with really high quality produce. Can’t wait to come back - love it!
