After living overseas for 5+ years, What a joy to return to “proper Aussie” fish n chips! Easily the best fish n chip shop we’ve experienced since our returning home! Their special Flake is incredible! And run by the most beautiful, humble family! Definitely our “go to” fish shop each week.. Thank you

Excellent owners , very friendly and often throw in a few extra things with my order . Oil changed daily so fish & chips always golden and crispy . Huge selection of fish .always fresh . The lady also does amazing fruit platters to order . Highly recommended this place .

Fish and chips were okay. Ordered from menulog. Chips quantity was quite poor. Felt robbed upon opening packet. You don't get what you pay for. Hesitant to go back

the chips here are delicious. when you bit into them you can taste how nice the potato is, the chips aren’t greasy and have the perfect amount of salt and a excellent crunch to them, the same goes for the potato cakes and their chicken nuggets, omg. when you bite into them, flavourful juices come out a full you mouth with a lovely taste there is a similar experience with the flake. I highly recommend eating here as it is the best fish and chip store i have ever been to, good prices for quality food.

Customer service below average, Fish and chips didn't even have the heart to feed to my dog. Serving size two fish and chip deals packed in one small tray. Well done

Awful customer service. Asked for grilled fish without flour as my wife can’t digest gluten. They covered it with breadcrumbs and grilled it which I’ve never seen anywhere. Called them up to correct the mistake and was told we have to “pay again as that’s how they’ve grilled their fish for the last couple of weeks”. You should you maybe inform your customers of that! We’re just down the road and spend 50 bucks here a week, not anymore, see you later!

My order is always correct, the price is reasonable, the service is friendly and the food is of great quality. More often than not they throw in a few extra potato cakes and my friends enjoy them too.

The workers have forgotten multiple times to give us everything we’ve ordered, leaving us having to go back or having to pay for items we never got.

Everytime I order they get something on my order wrong. Usually food is good, but last order it was stone cold.... Had to microwave it! They need to pay more attention to the details.

Worst fish and chips I have ever had. Maybe a change of ownership since the previous reviews ? Chips were average, potato cakes were disgusting (like rubber and bruised/burnt) fish batter (or rubber) terrible. Would never go there again.<br/>

So close to the Maribyrnong River it’s a good spot to pick up lunch or dinner and sit by the river<br/>On a nice day. The flake was delicious (we had both grilled and battered), fresh and perfectly salted. The potato cakes were crispy and with a decent amount of potato, and the chips were well seasoned and yummy.

Order was cancelled because driver forgot to pick up food but refused to deliver it unless I reordered and paid for it again. People on the phone were useless claimed they were too busy to deliver the food but it was fine if I made another order. Won't order from here again.

Ordered take away after reading reviews on Zomato. Reviews were positive, however store looked dirty when I walked in. Fish and chips were just ok, burger patty was very poor quality and not made on premises. Would not go back.

10/10 for your local fish n chips. Chips are always piping hot and there is plenty of different fish to choose from. For kids they also do a half size flake which is great when serving sizes can be huge. Really great value for money ($5pp max) and the staff are always super friendly. One of the freshest fish and chips shop around. Couta is my favorite at only $4 if you don't mind some bones in your fish. They are always generous with their servings of minimum chips. Friday is the best day to order as they change the oil on this day. Yes I work so closeby that I know all their secrets.

Not sure about the comments about the staff. They seemed nice to me. Shame the food was rubbish. Potato cakes with bruised potatoes. Crumbed flake that's size was what I would expect in a kids pack. Burger was average at best. $5 chips was less than minimum chips at other places. $45 on F&C and 5 people are still hungry. Bumped to a 2/5 simply because they chucked in a free drink with our order.

Great fish and chips - fish is always fresh and they can make a good chip. We have tried most fish and chip shops in the area, and this place is our favourite by far

Finally a fish and chip shop open on Sunday!! And It's awesome I'll be back!

If you can get passed the high staff grump factor you'll love the F&C here.

Yum fish and chips ! Nice grilled fish , not dry

Not so good afterall. Closest Fish and Chips to my location.<br/>Have tried it several times.<br/><br/>Hamburgers, not to scratch - beef patty of low quality, possibly sausage mince...?<br/><br/>Flake, have tried both grilled and fried. Grilled has been a very small serve on more than one occasion the fish has been overcooked and dry, too small and in separate pieces. Fried flake batter has a strange flavour, not sure how regularly the cooks change the batter. A little too heavy on the batter.<br/><br/>However...<br/>Chips are very good, hot and crunchy, nicely cooked.<br/>Staff, are friendly and they are open on a Sunday (an important day for take away food).

Awesome Fish & Chips and good Service

The best bar none. We used to live about 5-10 minutes drive away from the shop and went there exclusively. We moved 10-15 minutes away and after one try of a closer place, we make the drive to Maribyrnong Rd every time. Like the old fashioned fish & chip stores, they always chuck a bit extra in and friendly as staff to boot. Best chippy in Melbourne.
