I've been here a few times. I like their fried beef dumplings which I dip in chilli sauce.
Recently I tried one of their ginger and shallot on rice dishes. Perfectly spiced.
The people who work there range from nice to extra nice.
Solid dumplings and noodles bar. We came in about 30 mins before their open time and they were happy to accommodate us. Our food (veggie dumplings, salt and pepper tofu, seafood noodles) was freshly made and just hearty and honest. Probably a little heavy with the soy/salt. I do not normally write reviews based on one visit but happy to return if I am in the area.
The decor may not be the best and when dining with big groups, be prepared to be squeezed in a little.
But if you order the spicy calamari, then you will not care about the lack of space at all! Dumplings are also delicious! Highly recommend.
Been here multiple times with my partner and have loved every dish we’ve had. Take away is amazing too! Never had a bad experience. Some of my favourites include the hot spicy chicken, Mongolian beef, black pepper beef, lemon chicken, fried rice and the pork dumplings.

Tasty and cheap Chinese restaurants in this area. They always open for us anytime we need them! My kids loves dumplings and noodles. Great for both take away and dining in.
Delicious! Service was great, food was great and even purchased some chili oil to take home (chef’s special). The chili oil dumplings were a standout and we left feeling full and happy. Not from Melbourne but will be back on our next visit.
Ordered the Veggie Dumplings, Chk & Prawn Dumplings and Spring onion Pancake. The dumplings were nice and tasty. The spring onion pancake although good taste wise, was way too thick. Still it was a good experience. Will try more dishes.
Dumplings are nice, flavoursome and juicy. Sometimes they can be a bit oily so I like to get a mix of steamed and fried.
The shanghai fried noodles are super delicious. A good place to come for a cheap night and pig out on some dumplings with friends!
Great space for a group inside- we had a group of 8 for dinner and enjoyed great service from all the staff. Food arrived within a good amount of time and was all delicious! Vegetarian, BYO friendly AND THEY HAVE LAZY SUSANS! I recommend the veggie dumplings, veggie spring rolls and vegetarian stirfry with rice.
At the end of a fascinating Creative AI Meetup, it sunk in that this was the first IT Meetup I'd ever been to that didn't serve beer and pizza. What to do?
It makes no sense, but my impulse was to hunt down a dumpling cafe in the City. No luck there, as Shanghai Street Dumpling (Little Bourke Street) had around 20 people queued up outside waiting to get in on a cold night. Must be good, though.
I searched further afield (this time using Google) and found Favorite Dumpling & Noodle Restaurant. I ordered beef dumplings (fried, though I have a mild preference for steamed, but my dumpling deficit was messing with my mind) which was served with Chinese tea for $12.
The tea was spot on, and so were the dumplings, with scoops of chili seeds.
The food is delicious and reasonably priced. It's my favorite place, I've taken so many friends who all agree with me.
Great food I recommend the vegetarian fried dumplings and fried rice. Soup is also great.

Ordered vegetarian fried rice. Said you could specify with or without egg. I don't like egg so I specified without. Yes of course it came with egg! Also tried vegetarian buns for a change instead of dumplings, they were OK but not sold on them. Prefer fried dumplings but can't have fried rice and fried dumplings! Well of course you can but you know what I mean. Husband had mongolian beef and fried rice, he loved and we both have enough for 2 meals each. So would get again and received in 30 mins, so that's good.
Such lovely staff & the special fried rice is the best around here. Not oily and tastes great. A close second is their Shanghai spring rolls… Yum. Staff are always ready to help and will do as much a they can to prepare your orders as fast as they can. Did I mention their chilli oil! You must buy a jar, you won’t be disappointed.
Just popped in for a quick lunch and very pleasant surprised. Had the chilli beef noodles which were nice and comforting. Beef was tender and the sauce was flavourful with just a bit of spice.
Looking forward to trying the dumplings next time.
