The best place i've been to for a Pommy Curry.
If you're English and you feel like the Aussie curry is a little weak or lacking flavour then you need to get the train to Moorabbin and try this place. They have plenty of seating available as well as take away and delivery.
I love this place! It has become my go to place and I have tried around 30 different Indian restaurants in and around Melbourne.
Tender chicken and the sauces are very traditional. They are a family run restaurant and really friendly. They even do a lunch time special which is perfect for a quick bite and won't bloat you.
When I first walked into the restaurant there were 4 people leaving and I heard one of the guys say how fantastic he thought the food was. I really got my hopes up and thought it was set up. But he was not mistaken.
I have been frequenting this restaurant for 3 years, outstanding authentic Indian with service that makes you feel like you are the only customer in the world
Nice to find a place where to curry has flavour and not just a ton of garam masala. Great roti’s too
Well from here i have ordered a couple of times. I have had butter chicken, garlic naan, lamb rogan josh and lamb vrindaloo . The butter chicken is really good and one should definitely try it out. The lamb dishes were also really good but in this case i had tried one of their hottest version and trust me you dont want to have their hottest version.... Have their medium spicy version instead . The prices are a bit ok in the higher side but its fine as they are quite competitive in the pricing dept .
This is the second best Indian restaurant I've tried in the general area. And that's saying something, given the quality of the best one.
I tried Bawarchi for the first time today. I had beef Madras with saffron rice.
Lunch arrived in 15 to 20 minutes along with a bottle of cold water.
The window tables look out onto a sunny vista.
I'm giving it a 4.0 which is higher than the average review, because I liked the beef Madras, and it had a couple of scary-looking pods on the perimeter that looked like baked chilli shells. Someone there has a sense of aesthetics. Similar too with the saffron rice which had a variegated look.
That was $20.50 but apparently they have a lunch option which is even more economical.
Ordered Saag Chicken, Kheema Roti & some Papadums for lunch. Decided to get a take away cause the there were quite a few people waiting. I loved the food. The chicken was well cooked & had perfect amount of spices. The Kheema Roti was the highlight. Although the papadums which is a simple dish seemed average.
Had Ordered Indo-chinese style platter,
Had asked the chef to make it semi gravy and he did exactly the same,
It was simply delicious,
I ate it with naam, keema naan and regular naan, they were bit disappointing,
Very dry.
Service was good,
Ambiance was nice and quite.

Best curry in the south east!! This place offers what I would describe as a pommy curry. The madras isn't filled with coconut and all of the curries have real flavour. The chicken is very tender and naan breads are pretty good
Absolutey beautiful Indian! The butter chicken was fantastic. Chicken was tender and the spices in the curry was amazing! Ordering takeaway you would think the quality would drop but I've ordered several times and the food is great! Only downside is the food is often 15-30 minutes late.
Our regular Friday take away place. Not greasy food cooked with family love. I'm a sucker for paneer so tried all of them, hubby loves beef madras & garlic naan. I would highly recommend this local family run gem.
Next door service. Got a chicken curry wrap while I was drinking at grape n grain next door. d-licious a bit slow but lovely service
