Amazing food without having to go inner city. For lunch or dinner Hansa's Chopping Block restaurant is a real winner. The wagyu steak is incredible, topped with mushroom sauce on a bed of potato gratin, close your eyes and you'd swear you're in a Michelin star French restaurant. The wine list has been carefully compiled by the owner/manager who has a great knack for picking a good drop, and the prices are very fair. Leave some room for dessert cos the baked lemon tart and cakes on offer are worth the food coma.
Lovely place hidden in the industrial part of Mordialloc. You are greeted by friendly staff, who are very helpful. The food was beautiful. The wagyu burger was so tasty and juicy and the sausage salad was very delicious. A very affordable place with beautiful food. Will be back to try different dishes 👏🏻👏🏻
We love this place, the staff are so friendly and the quality of the food is exceptional. Much more reasonably priced than most other steak restaurants. You cannot go past Reza's signature Scotch Fillet Steak, amazing! Can't wait for you guys to open again. Sarah and Abel
This is our favorite restaurant in Mordialloc area right now, particularly if you're trying to get away from the many mediocre cafe/bistro style offerings that everyone else has. Being right around the corner doesn't hurt too. Super friendly staff, great ambience and music, and excellent food.
I recommend you come here at dinner time if you are after the good stuff (there's a simpler menu at lunch time) - of course the highlight here is their steaks - top quality cuts of meat (with high marble options too) and cooked to perfection.
Also - don't leave without trying the Chocolate fondant for desert - totally amazing and worth every single calorie 8)
Do yourself a favour & come along to one of the Baysides best kept secrets. This establishment is all about serving quality produce which is a far cry from most of the other local choices. I guess have a smokehouse & a working kitchen gives Hansa the ability to deliver quality food at a great price. The salads are a meal in themselves. Only suggestion would be to add a craft beer on tap.
Where do I start?!? The food is exceptional! I have never been disappointed about anything I have ordered. Everything on their menu is a must try, from their big breakfast to their wagyu burger (and the pulled pork burger showed in the pictures), ribs, Ruben sandwich and their kransky hotdog! All the meat is perfectly cooked and very tasty.
Their coffee is very decent and they make a great Chai latte.
The staff are all so friendly and attentive.
Their prices are reasonable as well.
Great place tucked away in Mordi. Excellent and friendly service always. The burgers are a particular favourite of mine. Worth taking a short drive to, or walking along the nature reserve following Mordialloc Creek from Main street if you're in town.
A must try if ever in Mordialloc. Great burgers, chips and coffee and the staff are very welcoming. Many things to choose from on the menu. Will be going back soon for another Block burger.
One of Melbourne’s hidden gems and best steakhouses. Amazing service, quality food that is as good as some of the top restaurants. You wouldn’t know this place exists until you know about it. Photos I posted don’t do it justice.
A friend suggested here and said its a diamond in the rough and he wasnt wrong. The staff were attentive, the food was delicious, the prices are good and we all enjoyed a great evening.
The rough really only refers to the location we just didn't expect such a good meal away from the usual locations.
Make sure you leave room for dessert.
The customer service we received was excellent. The steak I had was one of the best I have tasted. Perfectly seasoned all the way through. Desert was very tasty too. Well worth the money and we will be back.
Highly recommend booking a table online via their website, as this place is a full house from Friday to Sunday. Doesn’t look much from the outside, but warms up on the inside and it’s all about the food and customer service here.
Huge shoutout to the Maître D, she works the floor with grace and presence. Takes time out in between to check on each table for a small chit chat.
The steaks are of high quality and the chef cooks to perfection. I had the rib eye and couldn’t have been more happy.
I can confidently say that this steakhouse can matchup with any establishment in the city. A gem in the suburbs.

The Renza Waygu Steak was superb complimented with sides of King Edward potatoes fried in duck fat and a Roquette Pear & Walnut Salad.
Great wines, cocktails and German beers had.

As you drive down the industrial area of Mordialloc, I wondered if we were in the right place, then you see the lights come on, and stepping inside, quickly realise this was indeed the place that we had heard rumours of a 'great steak' about.
From the second we stepped in, we were made to feel welcome in the intimate set up there, staff were welcoming and attentive without being over hearing.
Wine selection was excellent and well suited to match meats.
For the non steak eater, salmon on offer was a generous size and excellently done.
But the glory item here is the steak. I love when a place only does a smaller menu, but does those things extremely well, and this is one of those places.
The steak was done to perfection and the sides perfect to sit along side. A great size serve of meat, amazing sauces to compliment it (if wanted).
Overall we left with full tummies and big smiles and a commitment to come back soon.
Would recommend booking as only a small place so I think would struggle with walk ups
