Always a smile and some friendly banter from the sales team and baker. Everyone is working hard, owners and staff alike. The coffee is glorious and the bread.......manna from heaven. Mordialloc is lucky to have this place.
Beautiful coffee and the best bread going! Plus always greeted by lovely friendly staff.
Great pit stop for a loaf of artisan bread (best in Mordialloc) and a good Chai or coffee if you prefer. Personal favs are the olive sourdough and grain sourdough.
Rustic is my local and I love it. As I'm in hospitality myself, I really appreciate good customer service and all the staff at Rustic are lovely. Their Sourdough Bread range is up there with the best in Melbourne. Their coffee is organic and they are still charging $3.50 for a standard coffee while most cafes in Mordi are charging $3.80. I am vegan so drink coconut milk coffee and have no problem paying an extra $1 for coconut and really appreciate the fact they stock so many different milks. Their chia breakfasts, salads & soups are always yum. Keep up the great work Rustic:-)
5 Stars. Love this place. Extra large Almond Coffee for the win. Amazing chocolate croissants. They are VERY reasonably priced considering the man hours put in to authentic sourdough breads. Organic house-blend coffee. Raw desserts are amazing. Family owned as well. Support your local businesses 🙌🏽
Really delicious bread (including the fruit and nut bread) and coffee BUT what is with the additional $1 - yes $1 - charge for Bonsoy?! I ordered a soy flat white along (medium size) with 2 loaves of bread then asked after the fact if they had bonsoy in stock (as there's a shortage). I was told yes - great - but I only paid for "normal soy" not bonsoy. I handed over an extra 50c for bonsoy (having apparently paid 50 c already for "normal" soy). As a vegan I have bonsoy daily in my coffees in my travels from Beaumaris to Sandringham, Hampton, Brighton, Malvern, Geelong...and I've never paid more than 50 c extra for bonsoy and nor has there been a price for other soy and a dearer price for bonsoy. I will be back for the bread but on principal will choose any one of my 4 regular cafes in beau and sandy for coffee w bonsoy where it's not overcharged. Interested to hear an explanation for this. Strikes me as greedy.
We are very spoilt in Mordy. These guys know their stuff. Authentic artisan sourdough breads, the most amazing fruit loaf I've even eaten and beautiful coffee. If you're lucky enough to snap up a bowl of their yummy winter soups - jump on it! You won't be disappointed. The Thai pumpkin is super fresh & flavoursome. And the sugar on top - it's ALWAYS service with a smile from the lovely Rustic team.
We are lucky to have such a great local bakery, this Cafe also smashes it out of the park! Mordialloc has amazing shop's, this is easily in my top ten.
Can't rave about Rustic more! The best local bakery in town, and the best coffee in the South East Suburbs. They never fail me in the over 2 years I have been going there. Always friendly and helpful, delicious treats and savouries (try the Falafel Wrap). Superb!
Best gluten free bread going around!!
I found out about Rustic Bakery from the guys at Side Street, Rustic supply their gluten free bread.
So happy to find freshly baked bread that's gluten free and isn't heavy or floury or dense. This bread is so delicious, I've been known to tuck into a freshly baked loaf on my way home!
That reminds me, I need some more now!
Rustic also have sandwiches, muesli, yoghurt, cakes and even some raw treats. I had a raw snickers cake recently that was to die for. Can't wait till they get it back again. Healthy & indulgent. The best combo.
I've also had the quinoa, brown rice & falafel salad. Light & tasty.
The staff are really friendly and they also respond quickly to messages via their facebook page.
I'm a big fan.
More than Bread! Come for a coffee and a cheeky cake. Even if you don't come for a coffee the bread alone is worth the visit. Fresh and crusty. You will never buy supermarket bread again. Expect to pay a few dollars more but the quality is exceptional! I always visit when I'm in the area.
Omg the artisan breads are absolutely amazing here. Its a bit expensive but so worth it. Staff are super friendly and very prompt. Also its nice to escape the crowds and relax here for a nice coffee.
