Came back and have to give another star for a particular menu which was literally the name of the restaurant. Dry egg noodle with prawns, pork, quaik eggs and other toppings. So delish! Seafood glass noodle soup was really good as well, had to force stop myself slurping the broth. Definitely good place to have the egg noodles and will come back for more
Cheap delicious authentic vietnamese is all this place is
Service was also surprisingly good and food came out super fast
Free parking nearby too which is awesome
The pho soup is so warming and delicious
We also ordered number 43 and IT IS A MUST TRY
The sauce was this sweet fish saucy favourbomb!! Added with the texture of the crunch in the veges and noodles, it was perfect
If you are wanting to try one of the best Vietnamese in Perth, this is a must try.
Please open an outlet south of the river!
Consistently good. Been here many times. Anything I order comes perfectly prepared to the table, and tastes delicious. Authentic, affordable and highly recommended by me.
After Basil & Mint closed down, I needed a new local. I think I have now found it! Food was very reasonably priced and the food was fresh and delicious. Had a noodle soup and rice paper rolls. Will definitely be back to try some more menu options. So far I'm extremely impressed.
Awesome restaurant! A nice casual place. Service was friendly and fast. A pretty busy bustling place with lots of atmosphere and interesting decor. Food was so good - had a few different fresh rolls and stuffed chicken wings - both were and amazing. The fresh rolls are huge and packed with ingredients! Had a pho after - again, massive and super tasty. It's BYO wine and beer which assists in making it a super cheap night. Highly recommended!
Yes!! Found a great Vietnamese restaurant that isn't in northbridge or all the way out in Girrawheen. The restaurant was full of Vietnamese customers which is always a great sign. Authentic food, pho broth was rich flavoured and much tastier than our recent trip to Tra Vinh. Will be back!
One of the better Vietnamese restaurants in Perth. If the Girrawheen - New Park area is the standard, then Ben Tre is definitely able to stand out amongst the crowd. Service can be lacking, but don't be afraid to call out to the waiters since that's how it is in Vietnamese culture. The food itself is fantastic and authentic, yet different from the competition. Their Bun Bo Hue is a standout, with fried spring onion on top. Their Pho and Com Tam also stands strong against even the best competition in Perth.
If you've been to Ben Tre in the past and disliked it you should definitely give it another try. Recently they have changed the recipe for their fried rice, which is now has a crunch to it. Definitely worth a try. A good dish to try the fried rice would be the shaken beef with fried rice. In Vietnamese it would be called Com Chien Bo Luc Lac.
I have been here heaps of times the rice paper rolls and chicken wings are alway nice . the noodls soup are always delish but the al carte meals most of them taste the same or use similar sauce not that great . Service is good some times most time is slow.
Went here for the first time tonight with our kids (3 and almost 2). We loved it.
We ordered no 62 for the kids (crispy chicken and rice), husband got stir fried vermicelli with chicken and I had the vermicelli with spring rolls. Everything was tasty and authentic enough. (We have travelled to Vietnam before)
would definitely come here again.
Total cost of the 3 meals was $33. Great value for a family dinner.
We have been here on a Saturday night 3 times over the past 2 months. The first time we just turned up and had to wait 10 mins as it was full. The following 2 times we booked a table and went straight in. At these peak periods the staff is pushed to the limit especially with the take away trade as well so service can suffer but they all try their best. They are generally quite helpful and at one stage the manager (owner?) pitched in and sorted our order out. We have never had to wait excessively for either ordering or food.
The decor includes some Vietnamese artefacts and is simple but pleasing. In full swing it can be a little noisy but most of that is from the patrons.
The menu is extensive and includes a mixture of Vietnamese and the inevitable Chinese dishes. I have never been to Vietnam so cannot comment on the authenticity although one of the staff did let on that some dishes have been Australianised. There is always a high proportion of Asian dine-in customers which is a good sign.
Tea and water are provided. It's BYO for any alcohol.
I think the rating in Zomato of $50 for two is too high. While you could reach or exceed $50, it's also possible to eat much cheaper especially with some of the Vietnamese soupy dishes which are only around $12 each.
I have tried each of the 3 fish dishes - ginger, lemon grass and deep fried with tamarind sauce, all accompanied by a shared bowl of steamed rice.
All 3 dishes were excellent - plump morsels of moist white fleshed fish with shallots and red and green peppers served on a small quantity of the appropriately flavoured cooking sauce. I especially appreciated the deep fried fish which was equally moist as the other two. Dare I add the quantity was quite generous and I certainly would have been satisfied with less. All served on a fish shaped serving plate which arrived hot and on time.
Each of my 3 dining companions, including a child, have also been very happy with their orders and between us we have covered a reasonable sample of the full menu.
I have rated it 4.5 only because it is after all a busy suburban restaurant which also does take-way and thus the ambience and decor do not rate highly. But this does not detract from the honest service and food experience and the prices are very competitive.
Hu Tieu Ben Tre has for us become one of only 2 go-to Asian restaurants in our area.
This place is opposite Coventry. Has lots of parking. The shop is about 2x bigger than typical Vietnamese restaurant.
Had the beef hofan. Would give it a 4*. The ice coffee is great.
The price is one of the better ones in town.
Very good quality food and atmosphere. I really enjoyed dinner here with the family. The crispy noodle and tamarind fish was delightful.
It’s a very busy place with lots of local diners frequenting this Vietnamese restaurant for Sunday lunch when we were there. There is no need to book as they have a good size to cater for diners. About 70% of tables were filled when we arrived for lunch around 12:30pm. Genuine and authentic Vietnamese meals in good size and generous portion. Value for money. Casual setting. Orders come in 10-15 minutes after ordering.
Our favourite place for affordable, delicious Vietnamese food. Their noodle salads and the com tam is so good. Portion sizes are decent unlike some places.
Nice authentic Vietnamese food. Lots of seating and tables. Service (without) smiles but if you were working 12hrs days in a family restaurant then you can’t blame them.
Food came out in a good time and was cooked beautifully. Nice complimentary tea.
Menu prices are pretty darn good for the portion sizes. I always leave full or content, never feel jipped. Ample parking outside.
Would definitely recommend a visit if you haven’t been!
Their shaking beef with fried rice is a must-try 😇
