Popped in for a late Saturday night dinner, and still able to order a meal at 9:30 (so did another couple who arrived about 10min later). Not being super hungry my wife & I ordered some chicken tikka sliders, garlic naan, garlic rotti, riata and chicken biryani. It was strange they asked “are we sure we don’t want a curry” as they weren’t convinced we knew what we were ordering- biryani was nothing new to me.
Anyway old didn’t take too long starting with the tasty sliders, then the rest of our order. One of the better biryani’s I have had incl. those I have eaten in very Indian populated places in the Middle East.
The total bill was very reasonable, and coupled with the good food & atmosphere we will certainly be back!
Fabulous Food, great small restaurant lovely staff and great service - we particularly enjoyed the home made samosas, tandoori lamb cutlets were to die for and also the tandoori chicken salad.
Unfortunately it is not BYO and you need to book as it’s only small and they had to turn away 3 groups of people on a Wednesday night!
We were looking for a restaurant open in Mornington and stumbled across chutney bar. Out of all the places we've been to this was our favourite one. The service was fantastic and we had our food out quickly. I highly recommend the Indian Hashbrown with tamarind sauce. The hashbrown was deep fried in cumin seeds and worked beautiful with the sauce. The seekh kebabs were flavoursome and paired with a nice mint dip. The chicken tikka was yummy and spicy but bearable enough for a non South Asian to eat. However the chicken could have been a little more fresh. Lastly the gunpowder chips had a nice kick of curry powder. Yum!
