Plonk Cafe and Restaurant is nestled on the water just before the Spit Bridge, seamlessly blending the inside and outside with a small beach area next to the al fresco dining area that is popular with families, as parents can enjoy some gourmet fare while watching their kids having fun on the sand. The uninterrupted waterfront views on arrival are stunning on a sunny day (even in winter when we visited), with plenty of tables available on the deck which juts out onto the water next to the yachts. The menu on offer at Plonk Cafe showcases plenty of seafood, as expected by its waterside setting and we get started with some of the biggest Seared Scallops we’ve had in Sydney – they were so succulent and paired nicely with a delicious cauliflower puree and pops of asparagus and an intriguing pork cheek crumble.
People love coming to Plonk for so many different reasons! You can dine at Plonk so casually but you are amongst amazing views, a salubrious cruising and yachting environment and beautiful nature and beach. Kids can easily munch on a quick fish and chips and run off and play in the sand as parents are able to take a break but still keep a watchful eye on the darlings. Sit inside or out....its all good. Usually meet up with a few friends and their dogs at the local park, walk to Plonk and sit out on the deck and enjoy a bucket of prawns or a barramundi with a glass of bubbles! What could be better than that! A great place for a large function too! Cheers!
Plonk! Beach Cafe is a perfect Northern Beaches/ Middle Harbour venue for a meal or a function. If you have a boat they also have a marvellous boat menu. The view, the location, the rich boats and the salt air do nothing but seduce you before the wonderful food and delectable drinks truly take you to town.

Perfectly situated cafe on the what with one of the most amazing views you could ask for. So what's the problem ?, well let's start with the service, although super friendly and polite, a little disorganized and not working as a team leading to mistakes being made.
Food, was good but not great for location and price paid. At venue like this I want to be wowed, not just pleased
Desserts were fantastic, a highlight for me
We came here for breakfast on a rainy day. Beautiful scenery, lovely staff. Dog friendly. The coffee was great, strong and hot.
We ordered eggs our way with sides, portions were big and everything was fresh and flavorsome.
Definitely recommend it!
We had the smoked salmon and basil pesto scrambled eggs with sourdough toast as well as the sautéed mushrooms and goats cheese on sourdough toast. Both dishes were huge and full of flavour. At lunch and dinner time you can munch on a bucket of prawns ($20) all the way up to a fabulous seafood platter for two ($120.00). They do serve fancy sandwich type options at lunch time if you are after something light and some delicious sounding desserts. Plonk is fully licensed as well - so it's the perfect place for a boozy long lunch whilst the kids play at the beach - you just need to hitch a ride on someone's boat so you can arrive in style!
I attended a joint 60th at plonk yesterday. The service and food were exceptional and we were taken care of from the moment we arrived, the blonde haired manager went above and beyond to make sure our luncheon was perfect.
Highly recommend this for any event!
This review is in regards to my experience having had breakfast. Great, efficient service and child friendly. Limited breakfast menu but all you really need and tasty with average sized portions. Egg and bacon roll a little overpriced $11.50 a pop. Excellent outlook over Middle Harbour with a relaxed feel. Its hard to find so they should consider a improvements to their signage, but worth finding. If you are going there, it's at the northern end of all the restaurants and cafes, just before the start of the Spit bridge, in front of the Sydney Kayak Centre.
Stopped by here while kayaking to get some take away. Order a fish and chips and calamari with chips. Both meals were amazing and reasonably priced. Only let down was service by the staff who seem to be depressed for whatever reason.
Friendly staff, Nick managed to fit a table of 12 on a busy day. perfect combination for kids and dads. Kids play on the beach while parents enjoy the views and drinks.
The food was very nice, guys don’t think if your fish and chips wasn’t good you give them a low star this place is not about the take away it’s overall a relaxation zone on top of everything.
We will keep coming back
Lovely spot, great food and coffee, only had breakfast so far, but intend to go back and try the rest. Opens out onto small children friendly beach. Well worth a visit.
