Plonk Cafe and Restaurant is nestled on the water just before the Spit Bridge, seamlessly blending the inside and outside with a small beach area next to the al fresco dining area that is popular with families, as parents can enjoy some gourmet fare while watching their kids having fun on the sand. The uninterrupted waterfront views on arrival are stunning on a sunny day (even in winter when we visited), with plenty of tables available on the deck which juts out onto the water next to the yachts. The menu on offer at Plonk Cafe showcases plenty of seafood, as expected by its waterside setting and we get started with some of the biggest Seared Scallops we’ve had in Sydney – they were so succulent and paired nicely with a delicious cauliflower puree and pops of asparagus and an intriguing pork cheek crumble.
People love coming to Plonk for so many different reasons! You can dine at Plonk so casually but you are amongst amazing views, a salubrious cruising and yachting environment and beautiful nature and beach. Kids can easily munch on a quick fish and chips and run off and play in the sand as parents are able to take a break but still keep a watchful eye on the darlings. Sit inside or out....its all good. Usually meet up with a few friends and their dogs at the local park, walk to Plonk and sit out on the deck and enjoy a bucket of prawns or a barramundi with a glass of bubbles! What could be better than that! A great place for a large function too! Cheers!
Plonk! Beach Cafe is a perfect Northern Beaches/ Middle Harbour venue for a meal or a function. If you have a boat they also have a marvellous boat menu. The view, the location, the rich boats and the salt air do nothing but seduce you before the wonderful food and delectable drinks truly take you to town.
