Review Restaurant Lurleen’s - Mount Cotton

We had an absolutely delightful Christmas Day lunch at Lurleen's. The staff were very friendly and we were well looked after by Ian. Delicious food, well spaced out and good sized portions without being oversized. Lunch included wines, beer and soft drink.

Absolutely recommended! Amazing food, excellent quality! Nice place! Breathtaking view! More importantly great staff! What else would you want from a restaurant? Four of us went there for a breakfast, and I can say we were all completely satisfied with the service provided. If you are going there for a breakfast, don’t miss the Mexican Benedict, or Healthy Delight! There is a great range of Benedicts available! The portion of the food was also very good. Will go back for sure!

We live nearby and always attend this venue for special occasions. It's always a pleasure to visit. The service and food quality consistently fantastic.

The food and service is top quality. If I could give them 6 stars I would.

Booked table online, when entering the restaurant they struggled to find the booking. As a customer felt we were going to be turned away. Finally found the booking and were seated. Staff were attentive with out being imposing. <br/><br/>Starters:  Brussel sprouts, broccoli, fennel, garlic, lamb bacon. Tasty but sickly<br/>Hervey Bay scallops, lemongrass and chilli broth. Brussel sprout dish was good, The broth from the scallop dish was very unpleasant. The smell was horrendous.<br/><br/>Mains: Schultz Family Farm suckling pig, apple, sloe gin, black pudding,<br/>parsnip.<br/>Angus eye fillet Southern Downs, SE QLD 250 served with a potato and eggplant gratin and french mustard butter.<br/>Shoe string fries, aioli<br/>Roast seasonal vegetables, Sirromet honey and koji butter<br/><br/>Sucking pig was nice but the fat around the edge of the pork would have been better if it had been crispy not left as gooey fat.<br/>Eye fillet was not warm when came to the table with a huge piece of mustard butter on top not melting, this was place to the side. Potato gratin was black(Potatoes left out to long not the egg plant colouration)very dry. <br/>Rosted veg were swimming in oily butter which was fully left untouched. Very off putting swimming in oil. <br/><br/>All I can say if you have gallbladder trouble don't visit here, everything is swimming in butter.<br/><br/>Would I visit for dinner again, Sadly no. Beautiful venue. Need to cut back on the fats they serve with the meals. If you don't like seafood or meat you're not eating. Need to have a chicken dish on the menu.<br/> <br/><br/>3x Pepsi<br/>1 Lemon lime & bitters<br/><br/>Total bill $180

Summary - Don't waste your time or money. Go elsewhere<br/><br/>We were a group of 4, and each ordered 1 entree and 1 main. From the point of ordering, entrees took 15 mins, but the mains took 1 hour 10 minutes to arrive. In addition to the large amount of time needed, each main had its own problems.<br/><br/>“Market fish, gem lettuce, pea, vongole, lemon aspen, smoked pork fat” consisted of a snapper that was either not fresh or over-cooked (evident from the fact that it did not flake properly), and the accompanying clam & wombok vongole tasted suspiciously like lemon water. Far too sour and not a good accompainment to the fish by any stretch of the imagination.<br/><br/>With the “Smoked lamb, butter milk, sugar snap, salt bush, freekeh, rosemary,” the lamb tasted like it had been sprinkled with an Indian curry spice that unfortunately wasn’t to my taste. Any reasonable person would not have expected the flavor profile based on the dish’s name, and had I known I would not have ordered it. Furthermore, I did not get even a hint of smokiness. It had also been cooked for too long, making it beyond the desirable pink colour. <br/><br/>The final 2 mains (specials of the day) comprised of a spotted cod that was cooked perfectly, but it was unfortunately drowned in essentially pea soup. Personally I found it to be decent regardless (and the best of the 4 mains), but the other 3 members found the combination weird and were certainly not fond of it.<br/><br/>Overall, the meal did not even come close to meeting expectations. This was worsened by the fact that even when you don't consider the amount of time it took to arrive, all the mains cost $40+ each. At that price point you should be receiving far better than what we got.<br/><br/>The waiter was kindly notified of the issues when he asked us how the meal was, and while he was sorry for our experiences, no offer such as a reduction in the bill was made to sweeten the sour experience. Some may find this an important point to consider, others may not. The experience was horrendous regardless.<br/><br/>The takeaway message is simple - do NOT visit this restaurant until it picks up the slack and serves food that is actually worth the price you pay for. Save your time and money; go elsewhere

Sirromet seems to be increasing in popularity these days! We recently went there for a 21st birthday outside on the grounds, whereby we had to order meals from their Tuscan Terrace. I would definitely rate those meals as average, for the price and the wait. The main restaurant (Lurleen's) is a slight step up. We went there with a party of five and were impressed by the way the menu read. In reality, the dishes left a little to be desired. I didn't finish my quail and the person who ordered prawns was a little disappointed in the flavour. For the price, we expect more. They also overcharged us by a couple of hundred dollars but luckily called our reservation phone number to rectify the problem as we drove off. Would return down the track when they've had a menu change.

Expensive! But I didn't mind since the food was absolutely delicious and I am definitely coming back to try everything on the menu. Members of the staff were very polite and friendly.

We had a romantic lunch featuring tempura lamb brains, wagyu steak and juicy lamb cutlets. Food was okay, however service and ambience was top notch. Take your bae, perfect place to create beautiful memories.

Came here pretty late on a Sunday for lunch. Didn't have a booking but they were able to accommodate me and my friends. Our waiter was very attentive with our wine refills. We got our entree's of goats cheese souflee and prawn stack very fast but then waited over an hour for our mains. We didn't mind the wait because the end result was delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and the pork was nice and juicy and came with a generous side of crackling. Flavours in all the dishes were perfectly balanced and seasoning was on point. We were all very happy with our lunch and service.

Went to Lurleens Todays for lunch with a couple of friends. The restaurant was gorgeous , great view , the service was amazing ! The food was delish I had the rib fillet. The only bad thing about it was that the food took around 40 min to come out .

Wow! The food is AMAZING!!!! When you think of Sirromet you first think WINE! How wrong is that!?? Great food, great wine and if you're there when there's live music; that's always great too. I really need to come back soon.

Had a great experience with restaurant Lurleen's for lunch. The service was good and the location is beautiful. The food is good quality and excellent portions. I'd happily come back again (actually cane back for breakfast which was also good)!
Kiwifoodie
They specialise more then just wines, their iced coffee is full of flavour. Very well presented and great to just six back, relax and enjoy the views!

A restaurant in a gorgeous setting with delicious, beautifully presented food. The portions are huge for fine dining standards, we could only fit in entree and main! I had the ultimate smoked salmon for entree (simply amazing, a must order) and Tuscan style porchetta for main (could have been more tender but otherwise a tasty dish). Other half had king prawn special for entree (on point) and roasted loin of pork (a highlight, ridiculously tender!). <br/><br/>Given the winery location, the restaurant is generous with wine tastings. We were choosing between two bottles and they brought out a tester of both for everyone at the table. <br/><br/>Service was great overall, though we did wait a little to order. All in all, a wonderful restaurant which we are returning to for breakfast this weekend!

We tried a 3 course meal and was a little hit and miss. Entrees came out quickly and tasted good. <br/><br/>Mains we had Pork belly was nicely cooked and favoured plus the salmon, which was pretty dry and over cooked and lacked in flavour.<br/><br/>Service was pretty quick and snappy. Would be a returning customer when the piggy bank gets a little bigger as the dishes aren't the cheapest.

Expected a lot better for such a high priced fine dining experience. I've been here a few times the last few years and it has been amazing. We came here for our 3 rd anniversary and it was not at all what I remembered. The oysters were amazing, that's about it. The free taster was centimetre of cold spring roll. My partners meal the duck casolet, it looked like a microwave meal, my meal the vol au vant sounded spectacular on the menu, but tasted like sea water with juiced spinach poured on top and was so bland. I'm so disappointed, as the bill was $170 for 2 people. We spend that at aria and walk out sparkling from head to toe with the amazing service and insanely good food. Thumbs down. I would've given a better score if the price suited the quality.
Eatingtheweekaway
It's a beautiful place, with a beautiful view. Stone, wood, view of rolling green hills and floods of natural light-- it's spectacular especially on a drowsy Sunday morning. Sitting down at a table with white linen tablecloth and served by waitresses in chef's whites seem a bit too formal for a Sunday but not completely out of place, especially when you look at the price of the breakfast menu.--$22 for eggs benedict.

I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant looks wonderful. It has a wonderful atmosphere, even if it is slightly noisy. <br/><br/>The food is lovely. As is the service. <br/><br/>We all decided to go with the recommended wines for each dish. This pushed us to taste wines we wouldn't necessarily go for and I am very glad we did. <br/><br/>The seafood is divinely fresh and wonderful. <br/><br/>I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to everyone. They have a vegetarian menu but not vegan meals. <br/><br/>

We dined here on a Saturday evening with some friends. We had been wanting to eat here for a while, but it’s location makes it a little difficult/expensive if you want to take full advantage of the Sirromet wines. After roping in some friends to share the cost of a Taxi home (Uber wouldn’t pick up from Mount Cotton) we booked ourselves in.<br/><br/>Having quite high expectations for Lurleens, we were not disappointed, fine dining style food with casual dining style portions. In fact we were all impressed by the size of all our dishes (Entrees, Mains and desserts).<br/><br/>Service was generally OK, though a little under par for a fine dining type experience, the waiters were friendly and help full and our water and wine glasses topped up accordingly. My only real disappointment was having to pay a 2% credit card charge, it felt like they were taking advantage a little.<br/><br/>Overall, it exceeded our expectations and as such would definitely return.

Menu, food, service and setting...Lurleens always delivers. I'm from Melbourne and on each Brisbane visit, look forward to lunch at Lurleens. Its been a Christmas regular for our family for a few years and we're recognised by staff as we enter (that's always a bonus). We arrived a bit later and the restaurant was full of smiling happy faces. Seated near the balcony with sweeping views over the lush valley, the breeze was refreshing. Today we were (pleasantly) surprised by a new menu. I wish I had the capacity to sample all on the adventurous menu, highlighted by interesting food combinations that made sense. Entree choices influenced by Asian and French cuisine alike (yes....snails). That said, I wanted to leave room for desert so just ordered main. I felt like fish and was tempted by the Snapper caught by Andrew Mirsosch (head chef) but decided on the salmon. It was cooked to perfection and the gnocci was a tasty twist on the familiar (read "yummy"). I was a bit envious of mum's dish, the pork belly but fortunately I snuck a couple of bites when she wasn't looking....it melted in my mouth! Each dish on the table was immaculately presented with a taste to match. Doh! ran out of room for dessert but my sweet toothed sister couldn't get the grin off her face whilst simultaneously shoveling the souffle into her mouth while dad demolished the baked coconut cheesecake. The service is always top notch; just the right amount of fussing and banter with the waitress and I always appreciate when meals are delivered to the table without the waitress asking who ordered what; it's the icing on the cake for another great experience at Lurleens.

Great location, good service, food very average. We dined at Lurleen's for lunch. Firstly, it is a lovely setting with a view over the hills and the bay in the distance. Service was prompt at first, but our table of 5 ended up being looked after by three different staff over 2 hours which broke continuity of service, and the speed of service was affected.<br/><br/>Now the food...portion sizes were probably too large for a start, but this may reflect prices for the mains being between $35 and $50 which is top end restaurant pricing. For the mains, our table had the wagyu steak special, pork belly, clay pot of seafood and the salmon.<br/><br/>The wagyu was way over cooked (medium well to well done), when we had asked for medium and medium rare. It lacked any seasoning or flavour and tasted like it was braised in a fry pan rather than cooked on a grill. Aside from the bland flavour, the red wine jus was cold enough when served that a skin had formed over the sauce on the plate. Overall, a terrible dish, and for a similar price as I would pay at Rockpool Bar and Grill which does justice to a good cut of meat!<br/><br/>The clay pot of seafood and salmon were both ok, but not of the quality that the prices would suggest. <br/><br/>The pork belly was large in portion size, but very dry and very underwhelming flavour wise.<br/><br/>As for dessert, we tried the strawberry soufflé special with creme pattiserrie. The soufflé was well formed, albeit a little sweet. The creme pattiserrie was awful, with a pronounced taste of cornflour and a lumpy consistency, suggesting it had been thickened without the flour being properly cooked. I've never experienced this in a restaurant and expect better of a pastry chef as it is a basic element to many dessert dishes.<br/><br/>The highlight of the meal was the unfiltered pinot noir and coffee, which says a lot, and we left very disappointed.<br/><br/>Finally, after giving feedback to the very apologetic and friendly wait staff (original of the three who served us), we were advised that one coffee and tea would be wiped off our bill as well as the 2% credit card surcharge, given our dissatisfaction with the meal. A credit card surcharge for a restaurant that takes credit card as its primary payment method!!! Surely a joke in the first place. This surcharge was for standard VISA and MasterCard transactions, not even American Express or Diners. Appalling at the prices charged to expect to get a further 2% for paying the bill with a standard payment method. I doubt Sirromet's merchant fees are so high as to warrant this absurd addition to the bill.<br/><br/>I will never be back. $340 for five people for just main meals and one dessert. Terrible food. There are much better places to have a fine dining experience in Brisbane. If you're going to Sirromet, stick to a cheese platter and bottle of wine at the cellar door and avoid Lurleens.

Great views, fabulous atmosphere, good service, delicious food. Yes, the food is pricey but you get what you paid for. Portion sizes are huge - but maybe a bit too big... I'm not sure how many people can actually eat entree, main, and dessert all in one sitting. (Maybe I was just being too greedy.) A great place to relax and catch up with family and friends. However, I wouldn't recommend it if you're in a rush. There were major wait time between each course.

Beautiful lunch at Lureens Restaurant. 13 of us Dined at Siromet Winery this past Sunday to celebrate an 80th family birthday. We cannot fault the service or beautiful food we received . My Husband and I have dined at many famous restaurants around the world, and I would say this restaurant is up there with the best of them. Exceptional service on a very busy day. The food choice amazing and presentation superb. Would recommend dining here to people who want the best. Also we had our Sons wedding in the barrel room 3 weeks ago . An amazing venue, our guests still raving about the wonderful evening enjoyed by all.<br/><br/>Thankyou Siromet for such happy memories!!!!!!
Food
Although the food is amazing, the service is extremely poor from the waitress with the black uniform. We didn't get any canape taste and waited for food nearly an hour. We mentioned to the manager last time about poor service, but are very disappointed this time with no improvement.

Seated overlooking the scenic valley the menu started the mouth watering service was lacking and $40.90 350g steak and jacket potato with a green peppercorn and mushroom sauce My kids had the Chicken Kiev chips and salad $17.50 ouch...3 yes 3 garlic chicken balls on a hand full of chips and a leafy salad yep I'll say it again 3 "frozen from coles" deep fried garlic balls $17.50!!!!!! $7.50 yes but 17.50 NO! Then my stark arrived and my mouth salivating at the sight then the taste hmm mm where are the green peppercorns lots of mushrooms with a watery sauce medium rare on let's taste....burnt and bland come to mind...people if you want a Fantastic Steak with Flavour then I recommend the Norman Hotel hands down piss poor Sirromet piss poor!!!!

Mrs. We had lunch on Saturday and we were very disappointed. The Food was just<br/>ordinary and the service was not what it once was. We waited over 1 1/2 hours between the Entrée and the Main. <br/>We use to love going to Lurleen's because of the great Service and the fantastic Food. <br/>Lurleen's has slipped big time .<br/><br/>A very disappointed former Fan of Lurleen's

Pub food but expensive. A large group of us dined here last night for a 50th birthday. We had a two course selection for two people and a $40 bottle of wine and it came to $172.00.<br/>I had the beef which was a very small fillet, undercooked with a single half Roma tomato and 1 piece of Brocollini. Bernaise sauce was tasty but nowhere near enough even for a tiny fillet.. My wife had salmon which again was a very petite fillet and limited vegetables. We did not order any sides as they were 'extra'. Deserts were panda cotta, tasteless, and cheesecake, quite nice. The wine was a verdelho which quite frankly was a bout $35 more than it should have been. Service was adequate but underwhelming when you have to ask every time for your glass to be refilled.<br/>As far as local pub food this would have been satisfactory, but for a restaurant that seems to want to mix it with the best, totally disappointing. A night for two at Aria recently cost us $225 for a couple with three courses, sides, drinks and excellent service. Lurleens is very sadly lacking in the value for money and quality stakes unfortunately. Such a disappointment.

Pleasant but not memorable. Have been coming here regularly for past 4 years and it feels like it's slipping. <br/><br/>Service was courteous but forgot our drink orders on a few occasions. We wern't even offered a wine list when first seated. Few little hiccups like this over the course of the night; not a big deal but it's the little things that make the difference for a place of this expected calibre.<br/><br/>Food was good. I had the rib fillet and the partner had the duck 3 ways. Both meals delivered as expected. Dessert was very good as usual though.<br/><br/>As another user put it, pleasant but not memorable.

Had brekkie here and it was amazing. Ordered the vege breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm not even a vegetarian and I loved it. The scenery and ambiance is beautiful. Staff are friendly and fast and efficient. A definite MUST to revisit. Lovely just lovely... new fav!

We love Lurleens, have enjoyed the degustation previously and went for breakfast on Sunday. The big breakfasts looked massive so we had the eggs benedict. Two perfectly poached eggs, spinach and crispy bacon but on one small piece of sourdough. I would have ordered more toast but it was very busy. Would go again for breakfast but try something different.
Adam
The steak was beautiful. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Great restaurant for a special occasion.

Kangaroo View. Love it. Great knowledgeable staff, wonderful food and an serene view where you are bound to see a kangaroo or two. Fantastic restaurant out of the city. Just make sure you have someone who doesn't drink as the wine menu is fantastic

What Happened..?. This has been my No. 1 choice for a special meal since it opened. Visited at Christmas and something has definitely changed. We ordered steaks and desserts. The steaks were tender but also extremely salty, are they tenderised in brine we wondered? The chocolate souffle ordered for dessert was not even remotely related to a souffle, probably closer to a brownie. Pleasant but not memorable. The table next to us were in shorts and thongs. We bumped into friends on the way out, they later reported a similar experience. Altogether it was ok, not worth the prices any longer though.

Excellent!. We've been to restaurant Lurleen's a couple of times now and have always enjoyed the experience. A beautiful environment combined with great food and service. It's a fantastic choice for a special event. Wine tasting and winery tours are also available, which makes it worth the drive (as long as someone else is driving).

I celebrated an anniversary here and was very happy with my meal. We recieved a complimentary canape and wine on arrival which were both lovely. My partner had a sampling plate entree which was delicious. For my main i had the best steak I have ever had. even though it isnt cheap it is well worth the money and you wont leave hungry
Ursula
Fabulous dining experience. Sat on verandah, had the prawns, crab, avocado and mango dish which was just so fresh and delicious. Would go again!

It was raining but it was still a great experience. We had the seafood platter, and the desserts were AMAZING. Try the New York cheesecake.

Hmmmmm. Lurleen's is a favourite of ours (4 of us), we went sunday lunch (5 of us) as a celebration for one of us. Staff very pleasant, food lovely, wine nice, BUT they forgot the main meal of my hubbie. He had to eat by himself. Apologies conveyed, but we believe the place too busy, as gals forgot our drinks and each time entree, main meal or dessert came out, they gave to the wrong persons all round the table. They offered the 'forgotten meal person', the payer a free dessert. If it was his birthday it would have been devasting for us. Gave us a card so next time we could be taken care of. What was wrong with today to be taken care of :-/ Not impressed with their 'compensatory act', seeing as we spent $500 on lunch.

Lovely spot. Enjoyed a lovely breakfast for my birthday at Sirromet this weekend. It's a great way to experience the beautiful restaurant - lunch and dinner are quite expensive!<br/><br/>We requested a table on the balcony which overlooks the grounds and showcases views for miles - hard to believe you are so close to a major city. We even saw wallabies hopping through the vineyards. The building itself is absolutely beautiful.<br/><br/>For brekky our table ordered a variety of meals - big breaky, vegie breaky, various benedicts and pancakes. All meals were very well recieved and good value for the $15-20 price tag. Staff were very attentive and friendly. We left very full and happy :)

Great Place. Having read the reviews We decided to visit starting at the Cellar door with a wine tasting I must say the wines are very good indeed and a true expression of the Granite Belt My favourite white was the Verdelho and Red was the Shiraz Viognier We signed up for the great value Club Sirromet and this got us 10% of the Restaurant bill when we had a fabulous lunch <br/>Service very good and friendly without being intrusive, Food sensational generous serves good to see a restaurant using quality linen ,crockery and cutlery .We will be back to work our way through all the exciting items on the menu .<br/>It was good to see so many families enjoying the ambience of what must be one of the worlds best Winery Restaurants
Not Impressed
Not Happy. On Sunday went for breakfast at Lurleens with the promise that it would be one to remember, great location. We were greeted by an officious waitress who tutted at us for not having a reservation and after considerable fuss arranged for us to be seated but not until after haughtily informing us that it was highly recommended that we make a reservation in future (even though the restaurant was not even half full). Not a good start. The breakfast was over-rated my eggs Benedict was cold by the time it arrived and my partner's "Big Breakfast" was certainly big but underwhelming in taste. Hash Browns of the frozen variety, sausage billed as Bratwurst but bore no resemblance. Our bill arrived at the table before we asked for it, no opportunity to order more of anything though we were informed we were welcome to add to the bill as it was passed to us. Here's the door what's your hurry! Not a good experience
Nik
Had the degustation, it wasn't very well thought out and the wines weren't matched well either. It's not a great winery, but you'd think they'd know how to serve the wine in the right glassware at least. Thumbs down.

Sunday Brekky..... Sirromet is definately a beautiful place. Great spot for the kids too. Went there last weekend ordered one big brekky, pancakes and kids brekky.<br/><br/>Big breakfast $22 + $1.50 - Poached ggs were nice, but cost an extra $1.50 because it is modifying a menu item , bacon cooked well. Hash browns from the freezer (not eaten), over processed "german" sausage more like a smokey frankfurt - no real meat flavour (half eaten). A muffin thrown on the side of the plate. (Some nice sourdough or turkish would have been great) Beans were a waste of time - tasted like 4 bean mix and a tin of crushed tomato mixed together. In fact the beans were rubbish. (Not eaten)<br/><br/>Pancakes were nice enough.Quantity good. Sauce very sweet.<br/><br/>What I do take them to task on is the coffee. We have some many fantastic local coffee companies. Di Bella, Merlo, Genovese just to name a few. Piazza Doro coffee is just a let down.Coffee was drinkable, but disappointing.<br/><br/>So, in summary, Big Breakfast average at best. Probably about $15 value. Pancakes good. Happy enough with the $16 price tag. More like a pub breakfast than one served in a fine dining restaurant. Go there for the scenery, not for the food.

Breakfast. Went to Lurleens for a group breakfast. Had never been so was really looking forward to something special, but was very disappointed with a Big Brekkie that you could get in any average coffee shop in Brisbane. Where was the wow factor? Don't try to wow with quantity - we are not American! Will not bother trying the lunch and dinner menus now.

Saturday Breakfast. The setting and ambience of Lurleen's certainly offers a great first impression of the place; however, I have to say that I was a little disappointed with the big breakfast I ordered today. For a restaurant of this caibre and what seems like a kitchen bristling with lots of staff I can't understand why they opt for commercial pre-prepared hash cakes instead of making their own. The sausages, parsley garnish, baked beans and English muffin too were "run of the mill"!! I will venture back though as the Vegetarian Breakfast and Pancakes that other guests ordered looked worth a second chance.
Johnty
Great Place but.......... Four of us ate here for a late lunch. We did the winetasting at the cellar door first, to see which wines we would have with our food, I am glad we did as most of the wines are not very good.<br/>Service was faultless, presentation was impressive and portion sizes were good, however we all agreed that the main courses all had 'a little too much going on on the plate' so the flavours were getting confused. The only wines offered were Sirromet, and although understandable were disappointing. It was a pleasant dining experience but not outstanding. We will go back but not often
Michelle Kotynski
Lurleens. Fairly expensive but you certainly get what you paid for. Have been many times, including breakfast and dinner. Top class dining. Congrats Andrew

Pleasant enough. For the industrial winery/tourist trap venue that it is, Restaurant Lurleens at Sirromet is quite pleasant if you can nab a table on the deck. Service we found a bit average - lukewarm greeting, wines never arrived with food, water not topped up, no inquiry as to whether our meals were ok. The meals were just fine, as it was, but not much more. You couldn't really fault the cooking per se, but there is an over-abundance of ideas and flavour combinations fighting it out in some dishes - you really wish they had adhered to principle of less is more. The local wines themselves are pretty terrible, and don't even have the virtue of being priced accordingly. The food prices are also getting a bit ahead of themselves. Despite it being an ok experience overall, feel no need to ever return here.

Great view but.... This restaurant used to be excellent but the last 2 occasions have been woeful- the food looks good and prepared well but tastes bland.<br/><br/>We have noticed that on each of these occasions the chef Andrew Mirosch has not been present. a good restaurant should be able to maintain its standards irrespective of who is in the kitchen. <br/><br/>unfortunately given the drive from Brisbane and inconsistent but pricey food we won't be making our way there again
Lauren Jayne Prestwood
Fantastic. Food was unbelievable and the service exceptional. Our particular waitress (short blonde hair, can't remember her name) was attentive and knowledgeable.<br/><br/>Great night out.

Excellent Mix of Food, Wine and Location. Great restaurant with a beautiful setting. Food isn't bad, but the idea of combining a good restaurant with a winery is few and between in QLD. Unlike Victoria, restaurant like this is everywhere. Worth the visit and a great place for some fine dining away from the hustle and bustle of a city establishment
Jim
Continues to impress. I've now experienced the full selection of Lurleen's menus. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and most recently degustation. It would have to be my favourite restaurant in Brisbane (well, sort of in Brisbane), hands down. Yes it's more expensive than your average venue, but it's not your average venue and it's not your average fare. Incredible views from the balcony, professional, efficient, amicable and capable staff who know when to stay and chat and build rapport, and also know when it's time for a bit of privacy at the table. So impressive.<br/><br/>Memorable dishes so far are the lamb's brains, the pork loin with baked apple, the steak (of any description), the twice-cooked duckling, and the choc tasting plate.<br/><br/>The degustation ($105) was amazing, with only the prawn-and-avocado stack feeling a little pedestrian (sort of like your average alternate-drop functions thing). Everything else was to die for, with huge portions of it leaving us filled to the brim.<br/><br/>My only problem is to keep coming up with special occasions that give me an excuse to keep coming back
Ping Liu
Great dinning. When there a month ago for my anniversary and it was little <br/>Pricy but the meals were excellent, coming back definatelly.

Fantastic food and service. I couldn't say one bad thing about it. One of the best places to eat in Brisbane.

Big Bad Breakfast. I visited Lureen's this morning for a family breakfast. We chose Sirromet as it is a picturesque venue and considered one of the most up-market restaurants in the Redlands. <br/><br/>I ordered eggs benedict and my partner had the 'once in a lifetime' breakfast with caviar, truffle, lobster, smoked salmon, eggs and hollandaise sauce (he was the birthday boy). The whole Lurleens menu reads well and I pictured his dish to be a show shopper so was looking forward to seeing him enjoy it. <br/><br/>My dish was sloppy at best. The poached eggs were over-cooked (the yolk was firm). The wilted spinach on top of the muffins was chilly and the weirdest part was that each egg was nestled in an avocado half. I expected some avocado as it was the version of eggs benedict I chose, but in my opinion one entire unadulterated avocado per serve is unappetising. <br/><br/>The 'once in a lifetime' breakfast was similarly sloppy. The poached eggs were 'hard boiled' and the lobster was dry and chewy. My partner counted the amount of caviar on the dish (8 eggs) apparently the Seven Scenes sparkling was very nice though.<br/><br/>I hope the restaurant can re-focus it's cooking staff and pay more attention to detail when preparing meals. It's such a stunning winery, patrons are willing to pay good prices for food to match. This meal let Sirromet down.

I loved this place.. the view was amazing, the food was fantastic and the wines were also great! Worth the drive.

Great Food. Preparation, presentation, ambience, service and the wine to match. They strive to match it with some of best Brisbane has to offer but not quite there yet, still, highly recommended.

We often go to Lurleen's for breakfast on the weekends. The food is always fantastic, service is first class and kid friendly too. Then there are the views

What really brought this dish together was the lobster & asparagus cream sauce, which looked and tasted like a bisque. There was an intensely rich lobster flavour with the sauce that was amazing. The asparagus that came with the plate gave some contrasting colour and textures........ On a hot summer's day overlooking the property with a gentle breeze blowing, this meal will forever be in my memory.

Lurleen's Restaurant offers a "Once in a Lifetime Breakfast" which includes fresh steamed lobster, Tasmanian smoked salmon, asparagus, truffle, soft poached eggs, Australian salmon caviar, served on a toasted muffin with hollandaise sauce & glass of Seven Scenes Sparkling Pinot Chardonnay. It seems like a great way to start the day, and a nice alternative to the Gold Coast strip for breakfast. The restaurant is quite large and very busy but we are seated straight away and before too long I have a coffee on the way and we are looking over the menu. Mr GG is having the "Once in a Lifetime breakfast and I decide on the Vegetarian Breakfast for something

We had a lovely meal at Restaurant Lurleens. The food options are familiar, without lots of the crazy, creative dishes that are often seen on breakfast menus these days. I'd recommend this place for a comforting meal with a nice view but maybe not if you're after something innovative.
