Review Divido - Mount Hawthorn

Scott Robertson
We have been at least 8 times and we love it. The lamb shoulder is the best lamb in Perth and incredibly reasonable. All of the mains are tasty and generous that we've had. My only suggestion is that the dessert menu is slightly less exciting than the OUTSTANDING MAINS. Please visit them and enjoy the great hospitality. Make sure you book on Friday and Saturdays as we have missed out as a walk in.

Very helpful staff, there when you need them but not fussing over you when not required. The food was excellent, I have never had beef carpaccio like it before. The potato gnocchi were a real surprise, light and fluffy rather than the usual little stodge-balls that you get served in white sauce! Crab tagliatelle was perfect. All in all a great night out, good for a treat but not something I would be able to afford every week. Worth every penny though.

The best wood fired lamb shoulder in town. Value for money is amazing. If this restaurant was in the City or Crown they could charge double for their menu..... The service is second to none.... the two owners cook & serve so they totally understand what people expect when going into a restaurant for an evening meal. Truly one of Mount Hawthorn's hidden secrets !! I referred several family & friends to the restaurant who have told me the Barramundi is amazing...... 5 Star Restaurant at affordable pricing xxx

The waiter was very kind and attentive, the wine was fabulous but the meal lacked flavour and was piles apart from previous visits when it had a different ownership. Was given a free meal by the waiter to compensate which was kind but don’t think we’ll be going back again any time soon unfortunately.

The lamb is beautiful - not a lot of atmosphere due to the very low numbers - 3 couples (Frid nite). Wine is expensive with very few wines I knew. Can’t recommend it as it just was a poor experience.
Eliza & Mathew Brbich
The food us consistently well prepared and excellent. Their weekday meals specials are good. We love the option of being able to BYO for a nice bottle of wine

The meals and service were fantastic looked aftet us very well. Only fault is the place is too dark cannot read menu we all jad to use our phones to read the menu. Value for money good 👍👌

Woeful since changing owners. Went for the degustation menu and the complementary wines and the waiter was not only unable to pronounce the wines, he was unable to tell me about the wine and his answers were barely audible. Will not return...

It would appear this restaurant has closed but still has an answering machine asking prospective diners to leave their details so they can be called back. I left messages for two days with no replies, only to turn up on the night to find it closed. They still have their website advertising menus and opening hours. Very irresponsible.
Girls Out And About
Firstly I will start by saying the front of restaurant service was very good and the waiters aimed to please even though they seemed rushed and muddled at times . I gave such a low rating as the food was terrible , there is not one thing Italian about this restaurant . I had the Duck Gnocchi with Mushroom ragu , the gnocchi had the weirdest texture , there were about 3 tiny slithers of boiled duck and not a mushroom to be seen , unfortunately I had to send it back . My husband had the Osso Bucco and although the meat was tender there was not the slightest resemblance of classic osso bucco to this dish , no tomatoes in the dish broken down into a caramelized delicious sauce , it was like watery soup . The waiter told me that an Indian family had bought the restaurant so maybe it needs to be renamed and changed to an Indian restaurant as the food served is not Italian at all . Was so disappointed .

Horrible attempt at cooking Italian food. They’re not even Italian. Don’t go here. We obviously read positive reviews from a time when different owners occupied the restaurant.

My wife and I had dinner at Divido Restaurant last night, 14th, April, 2018. We were last there many years ago, I think in 2010. I have forgotten about Mount Hawthorn as a nice restaurant strip until my wife reminded me of how much I enjoyed the wood-fired half duck so many years ago. I ordered the duck again and it was as good as 8 years ago. My wife's Osso Bucco was good but slightly too salty and the meat should be a bit more tender. The cheese board was worth ordering, as the Gorgonzola, and Italian version of the famous English Stilton was a delight. Highly recommended for fine dinning. Oh by the way, the bottle of Rolf Binder Shiraz was exquisite.
Caitlin Roberts
Do yourself a favour and go to pasta cup instead. $400+ for poor Indian/Italian fusion. Had the tortellini, too sweet and the main sizes were appalling. Should have read the room upon entry, not a soul in sight. Don’t take your toddlers as it isn’t family friendly - no high chairs.

The food was really very good and the service was good. I liked that g/f was clearly marked & plenty of options.
It was odd that the my only had 3 tables in on a Saturday night, though.

This place must have changed hands since I last came here because the quality of the food has dramatically dropped. The gnocchi I order was mushy and did not have the traditional texture, although I have to say the sauce was delicious. The lamb dish my partner had looked like it was pre-sliced as it was dry and flaky rather than the smooth silky coating when you cut into a well rested meat. Although the staff was attentive (not hard to do when the restaurant was particularly empty) for the price of food I would not be returning.

Ive been to Dividos several times now and every time the food has been exceptional! Absolutely delicious! The staff are always friendly and its very reasonably priced too.

Another wonderful degustation with matching wines.

Lovely intimate surroundings and friendly staff.

Nice and quiet mid week so we had our pick of tables

Came here for a weekday dinner and quite a few of the tables were taken. The ambiance was nice and it was not overly noisy so I could talk with my companion easily. Waitstaff were friendly and attentive. The food was nice. Enjoyed the chocolate zuppa inglese dessert and their pasta of the day was not bad. Food did not take too long to arrive.

this is a lovely restaurant, amazing pannacotta and donuts, great service and ambiance. was quite empty, maybe reflecting the difficult financial times currently.

We had dinner at Divido on Wednesday night and enjoyed their 2 course special for $39.50. We decided to share our starter Calamari. Our choice of main was beef cheek and lamb shank and for dessert it was Zuppa. All the food was lovely, We loved that immensely. It was great value for money. Service was also excellent.

We will be back for sure.

Had lunch here , think we got the night before
Left overs , the only nice thing was the bruschetta . Terrible , don't bother .
I would not recommend at all

We came to Divido on a Thursday night, it was suggested many years ago that we should try here and we finally got around to it. The first thing we noticed was the emptiness of the place- especially for a Thursday night. I hadn't realised they had changed hands over the past few years and the high ratings on zomato were from a long time ago. We were sat down and explained the menu. There was a special that 2 courses were only $39.50, but I opted to not do that deal. I was questioning the limited menu- for an Italian restaurant they only had 1 type of pasta (the pasta of the day). I agreed to get the beef cheek, served with beef jus, cauliflower puree and roasted carrots. When the food arrived 35 mins later, I tried the cauliflower puree and it tasted strongly of cauliflower. The carrots were nice and soft, and the beef cheek was falling apart- it was that soft. However it lacked flavour and the beef jus did not provide any of that either. It was a simple dish- so simple that I could probably make it- (I can't even cook well). The duck breast that had been wood fired, we so chewy and lacked any sign of flavour. Both dishes need to have improved their presentation. The ambience in the restaurant felt dead- probably because of a lack of customers. The wait staff seemed a little inexperienced and we couldn't understand them when they were explaining the specials. They also questioned us when we didn't finish our meals which made us feel slighty uncomfortable and pressured us to order more food. For dessert I ordered the croatian doughnuts, with orange and milk. Could a menu not be more vague?! I didn't even know what the milk and orange was being used for. The donuts came out quickly, in about 10 minutes, and they looked small and the milk sauce drizzled on top was careless. Presentation wise it was not pleasing. I broke a donut in half and it was quite dense- not like the ones at Meeka or Duende. I soaked it in the milk-orange sauce and it tasted amazing. The sauce was nice and warm- and the milky flavour went well with the warm donut. I finished the 5 donuts really quickly with the milk-orange sauce. The poor presentation and inexperienced wait staff made Divido an okay restaurant. The ambience felt dead and I can see why there is a lack of customers. Hearing such great things about this restaurant in the past gave me such high expectations of what was to come. At least the donuts were good!

This is an unassuming place that isn't bad for a suburban restaurant!

The food was lovely and well presented.
We were a group of 8 and we were well accommodated.
Maddy
You know, I expected great things from this place...but was left feeling very underwhelmed. For what they are the dishes are expensive! Service was not great and we had huge wait times between starters, mains and deserts. I wouldn't recommend and I wouldn't return. Shame!

Went there for friend's birthday, we ordered 6
Dishes and 3 out of 6 were nice, pasta was cooked al dente and taste yummy, waiting time between entree and main course was a bit long.
Cutlery and plates looks quite cheap, will go back for pasta next time
We had the degustation as we thought it covered a great variety of different foods that we would not normally try. You can tell the chef is passionate in fresh produce and fine Italian cuisine. The food tasted like it was made with love and care and the service was wonderful too.

Used to frequent this place with my family, food was amazing until around the end of 2014 - coinciding precisely when the ownership changed. Went in recently to give it another chance and won't be going back. Food flavour, ambience and service have declined tremendously, whilst prices have stayed the same (if not going higher). My advice would be to close and re-brand because right now it's sort of considered a place that used to be good and now...isn't good.
Maddison
Terrible! And over priced. Not sure if lack of Italian staff and Italian chef but terrible food. Bruchetta was tiny and horrible the raggu lamb pasta came with mince lamb meat no sauce and peas..also came out cold.

Dined last night and enjoyed the $60 three course special.

The entrees of calamari and quail were both very good.
The slow roasted lamb shoulder for two was silky and tender, cooked to perfection (and a very generous size), sides were shaved fennel salad and potato parmigiana (a potato gratin with a parmesan crust).
The Zolo Malbec was a perfect match, an excellent choice by me.
Desserts were very enjoyable, Croatian donuts and panna cotta.

Service was friendly and attentive.

As Mt Hawthorn locals, Divido is always a favourite when we're seeking something a bit 'special' locally, or when visitors come from interstate and we don't want to venture too far. As previous attendees to Divido, Mum & Dad visiting from Adelaide requested that we go there on a wet Monday evening before they left for home - and again it did not disappoint... All of us took advantage of the excellent value $69 for 3 x courses + champagne menu; The food was fantastic - we all had the calamari for entrée - and it was delicious!Mains across the table consisted of Duck, Pork Belly and Steak, and all met expectations - the ONLY possible improvement could have been resting the steak for slightly longer, but it was juicy, tender and tasty! Desserts and coffee also hit the spot at the end of the meal... Service was very friendly and attentive without being overbearing - which could have been a trap on a quiet, cold Monday evening - but our waiter was excellent and made every effort to engage with us and make sure that our dinner was enjoyable. Will definitely keep coming back, and hope that many more locals and not-so-locals continue to support this great value for money eatery - would hate to see it disappear from the Mt Hawthorn area... It's not the poshest place in Perth - but fills a nice gap in the market - somewhere between fine-dining and casual dining - which is just where we like it :) You can tell that the new team are making the effort to provide a great experience - which we all appreciated - it's nice to not have attitude served with your food, which can often be the case in many Perth restaurants. Continue to support local business folks!

Divido is a great choice for dinner - we always order the slow roast lamb which melts in your mouth. But tonight we had the 3 course ala carte menu - the calamari was crispy tender and delicious, and the lamb angnolotti was fantastic too. For mains we had the steaks - cooked exactly as we requested (medium rare) the cut of meat wasn't the absolute best but it was delicious none the less. The accompanying potato mash and asparagus wrapped in prosciutto were delicious too.
Desserts at divido have always been great - the Croatian donuts and the chocolate zuppa inglese were both just as good as we remembered.
The service was great - despite being a server down, and having 1 new staff member being trained.
The Eggspert
Have been here before but a long time ago. The menu choice was a bit smaller than previous, but there as a nice choice. We went as a table of 4. My wife and I had the 12 hour wood roasted lamb shoulder $85. Our friends ordered a steak and one of the night special pappardelle dish with beef ragout. When the food came out the steak looked a bit plain. The chefs couldn't have rested the steak as the blood was coming out into the mashed potato. The pasta could have done with a bit more beef ragout as it was a little dry. The lamb shoulder was very tender and just pulled apart. But the gravy that came with it was fatty, and only a tiny little jug between the 2 of us. The potato that came with it was nice. The food and service isn't as good as I remembered and now found out it has changed hands.
Shake-N-Bake
Amazing lamb shoulder to share, the crispy bits are to die for! Potato gratin and fennel complete the dish beautifully! The service is a bit lacking, but the food makes up for it!

A group of 4 went for dinner. We chose the $80 3 course meal. Entree had the pasta special, main course had the duck and dessert had the fritulas. Food was outstanding. Lovely restaurant, good service by attentive staff. Highly recommend, we will b back.

Four of us had dinner on a Monday night. No complaints at all! The food was good, especially the lamb, and the service was efficient and friendly. It was the first time we had been to Divido since it changed hands and we were impressed.
BangersandMash
Very good food, service was very attentive although a bit standoffish.Wine list is interesting.Went on a Saturday and enjoyed the 3 course meal for $80 pp.Quail was delicate and tasty, Pork belly was large with crispy skin and rich.I will go back.

Nice little Italian restaurant in a good location. Food is interesting but found it didn't quite hit the spot. Definitely worth a try however

MISS! What has happened here? I had heard such good things!

Totally underwhelmed by my experience at Divido last week, there is no other way to describe it than BLAH. No pizazz in the service ( nice people however) , ambiance was zero, food was average at best . I think what's most dissapointing is that the new owners are trying to keep the same restaurant and the same vibe when it's obvious that their idea/experience of running a restaurant is very different ! Spelling mistakes on the website Menu was a dead give away. Too expensive for what it is.

Positives : ok wine list, pleasant staff , service was quick and attentive

Still has potential but my advice to the new owners /managers is to stick to your vision , not something that the previous owner created for you.

Wouldn't go back or reccomend.

A place to return to. Random choice to dine here tonight, not recommended by anyone, certainly not disappointed. Food was beautiful, great service. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Great service + great food = divido. I went here last night as I heard about this place from my friend. My partner and I both tried their pasta special papadelle with lamb shank, it was amazing. Our main choice of duck and pork was also to die for. The service was also very friendly and attentive, when I spilled the whole glass, they quickly cleaned that for me and gave me another one without recharge. In the end it was great experience and we will be back

Great food but shockin service. We went on a Thursday night and enjoyed the $59 special. Table of 7 but they set it for 8 which made the person on the end stuck out on their own. The food in general was excellent, in particular the tagliatelli, lamb shoulder, duck and the desserts. The wine list was sensational. What was very disappointing was the service. The waiters did not regularly return to the tables so we had to wave madly at the waiters. The male waiter could not be signalled to despite the grandest of gestures. After asking for water three times over 15 minutes, politely each time, I was barked at by the waitress "I only have two hands". The place was very quiet for a Thursday - perhaps it is the service that is letting them down?

Returned for a second time for an outstanding wood roasted lamb shoulder for two. The shaved fennel salad, potato parmigiana, red cabbage walnut gorgonzola salad complemented the lamb very well with a cheeky Shiraz recommended by a very friendly and courteous host. A very warm and elegant restaurant for an evening out with friends. Definitely coming back to try the other mains on offer.

Divido is divided. We went for dinner last night to Divido and were very disappointed. The first time we had eaten there was 2 years ago and it was brilliant! My fiancé ordered pork belly, which was rubbery and hard to cut. He sent it back, only to receive another rubbery looking thing with the fat not being properly rendered and all looking jelly like. It was definitely not cooked long enough despite the menu claiming it was cooked for 4.5 hrs.The only eatable bit was the crusty skin. Me and my friend had the duck, which was cooked just alright. The fat under the skin was not rendered enough but the skin was crusty. It came with a bit of polenta in a puddle of sauce and raw spring onion. I ordered red cabbage with walnuts and Roquefort to go with the duck as a side dish. It came as a cold salad! The whole food experience reminded me on an unexperienced home cook trying his/her best. When asked the waitress (she was very friendly) what happened she told us that the chef had changed in December and she certainly would provide him with our feedback. Hope this changes to the better soon otherwise I can see the locals withdraw and go to other places. We certainly will.

Great value. I been in divido last week . This was my first time . It's owsome restaurant . I would really recommend to go there. This is great in every manner . This is 10 out of 10. We will be back soon divido

I have never spoken badly about Divido before, yet last night was far from a fine dining experience. We frequent the restaurant throughout the year yet ,I don't know what has changed but the food was mediocre. No one could explained the wine matches and components of the dishes didn't match at all. The service was poor and explaining the dish by saying " it has been cooked in the oven for the last 20 minutes" does not cut it at all. It's a sad day for regular diners.
HungryEpicurean
A modern presentation of a classic pasta dish. Delectable, fork-tender lamb wrapped within perfectly cooked agnolotti.
Wan890
Great food and great service. We visited Divido last night and enjoyed a fabulous meal. We had the lamb shoulder for two. The lamb was cooked for twelve hours and then put in the oven to crisp up; it was delicious! The meat was falling off the bone. It came with some gorgeous sides, which were perfect with the lamb. The service was first rate. We will be back.

Modern Bistro at its best!. We went to Divido for a last minute dinner on Saturday night and I must admit it was the best choice we could have made! My Pappardelle pasta special was to die for, cooked al dente with delicious fillet steak & prosciutto ragu. My friend had Parma Ham with grilled asparagus & buffalo mozzarella for his entree and he was equally delighted with his choice. As a main we chose to share slow cooked (for 12hrs!) lamb shoulder-the best lamb I have ever had in my life! Crispy skin on the outside (once the lamb is cooked its goes to a wood fired oven for a further 40 mins before its served), moist on inside, basically falling off the bone-portion is huge too, we couldn't finish it even though it was so tasty... The wine list is compact and well diversified with a good range of wines from Aus & around the world and most importantly it represents a great value for money- we had a bottle of Austrian Gruner Veltliner ($49!) and a bottle of Pinot Noir from Victoria ($59), both very descent wines and didn't cost us $80 per bottle which slowly becomes a trend around the town.. Service was efficient, attentive yet not intrusive- waiters are there for you when you need them (no aggressive up selling etc.).
The whole night was a great experience without braking the bank at the end of our meal- looking forward to going mid week when you can have three course meal from a la carte menu for $59 per person! (Wed-Thur)- good on you Divido!

After 7 year visit. Went to this restaurant after 7 years, the food is still amazing and great service. Had degustation menu, but couple sitting next to us were very happy with their lamb, so have to come back soon for having lamb.
Mdurie
Degustation menu terrible and expensive. So disappointed with our experience. The tables are too close together, bright lighting and overpriced. The food was a joke, and prepared by a novice chef. Not fine food in the slightest. None of the meals impressed and the waiter was awkward and always floated around our table trying to clear our plates. I can't believe they get away with it. The reviews were positive so we thought we were safe. We eat all over perth, and the quality was worse than a pub meal. I never reach out to review, but this one was appalling and is $260 we will never get back :(

Dont waste your money!. The place has no ambiance and when you pay $130 pp you expect to be satisfied with a full stomach and with a slight glow on departure. Neither occurring. The restaurant was half empty and now I understand why..

Very pleasant. An impromptu celebration on a Wednesday night. Pleasantly surprised. Good service good food. The duck is excellent. Highly recommended.

Lovely!. We went for a family celebration dinner and could not have asked for a more perfect location! Amazing food and value for money - $69 for 3 courses and a glass of champagne. Fabulous service and setting. Highly recommend and will be back :) thank you

Old Favourite. Have not been here in a while and the food quality has not changed! The duck and pork were fantastic, both having crispy skin-definitely the favourites of the night! Food portions and service were also great. Would definitely come back soon!

Good food & wine. We had another enjoyable dinner at Divido last night. Food, wine list, service and most of all, value for money factor, never lets you down here... See you again soon!

-----26 Feb, 2015-----

Fantastic night & value for $$$ !. Went to Divido for a dinner last night, they run heaps of different menu specials at the moment, so we went with 3 courses for $59.50 and what a great value it was! All food met our expectations and with the special price you pay an affordable wine list pricing on top of it, it's worth a visit! Special deals run from Monday through Thursday-what a great concept?!! Wish more places in Perth were so "customer focused"- We will be back soon!

We had dinner here last night. The staff were professional yet friendly. Good was delish except for our sourdough was doughy and undercooked. But that was the only negative I could find really.
My husband and I shared the quail for starters, which was tender and tasty. I had the duck for main and it was to die for! Prob just slightly too much food for me! My husband had the steak and it was cooked perfectly.
No dessert for us as we were too full!
Thanks Divido we will be back!

Viewer from Sydney. I visited divido last week . My friend suggested me for this. I found this is really great place to dine in . I had degustation menu with main pan fried fish. The fish was little crusty , it makes great taste. Wine list has so many different verities. Service also was best . Waiters really looked after us. I would definetly go back in my next visit to perh

Former glory?. We went here for an anniversary last night as it was somewhere well-regarded and awarded in times past (as the in-restaurant trophy display suggested) - but we hadn't managed to get here until now. To me, I felt that what I'd read about it and what I experienced suggested a change of hands. It was not award- or note-worthy. A 'yous guys' initial contact disconcerting, service continued in lacklustre and unsophisticated fashion, not reflective of the dining experience we expected. As others have said, a limited but expensive menu, pork in milk my partners choice of main. Bland. The duck better, but far from 'best'. Entrees were OK, but again not hugely 'tasty', somewhat surprising for the supposed Italian origins. We've crossed it off our list, belatedly and far too expensively. It might have been good to experience it in earlier times.
Food 2 Run
The duck was amazing really enjoyed it
Yummy
I think this restaurant has changed hands. Same menu.....pasta entree still good, main looked the same as usual but something not quite up to usual standard, tasted as if my desert was soaked in apple cider vinegar not frangelico. Ordered a Riesling that tasted like anything but. Service still great.
Stawberi
Disappointing. When you see a limited menu, you expect the food to be exceptional. It sets you up to be even more disappointed by overcooked rankin cod, flavourless duck, and dry pork. Add entrees coming out scattered and drinks being served with rancid orange juice, and no - I would not recommend this.

Aside from the cooking, the service was... no, I can't even credit that. What kind of inattentive waiter places bread in front of the one man in the party who just specified that his meal needs to be GF?
Din's Delish
Quaint Surprise!. Small, intimate restaurant with a cosy atmosphere. Started our night with quail with pear and walnuts which was a lovely light entrée followed by the mouth watering lamb shoulder for 2 just fell apart. Also decided to have a sneaky last minute chocolate trifle like dessert with some interesting flavours.

We had a beautiful meal here last night. Food was fantastic and they happily catered for my allergies. Customer service was fantastic. A 10/10 restaurant. My favourite in Perth!! Thank you for a wonderful night Divido

Nice Food & Ambience, not a regular !. Positives for us was great service, nice food, (especially the panacotta) & good ambiance

Negatives was being TOLD, you have to order entree, main AND desert upon arrival for either a fri or sat nt. We weren't made aware of at time of booking ??

Menu is extremely limited, to the point you'd probably want to check before you booked to see if theres anything you actually liked on it. Its expensive & small serves. We had 3 entree's, 2 mains, a side & the compulsory desert. If you like your food you could easily end up going home hungry as did i.

Would we return ?,the food was nice, (although the flavors didn't really blow me away) probably not for the price as with a couple of wines is $200 + for the two of you
Happy To Eat Anyday Anytime Anywhere
I have mixed feelings about it. Cosy warm place, French styled, good service but the menu was minimal and average. Although what we had was good (roasted lamb for 2 @$85) and a rabbit pasta and 2 fish of the day, I had higher expectations in terms if a more extensive menu which would give more choices. Was good but probably won't return.
Jojojojo83
I went with a group for my birthday just recently and it was fantastic. Such beautiful, generous food and friendly lovely service. Even when I managed to spill a whole glass of wine everywhere nothing was too much trouble and the glass was quickly refilled.
Thanks for a such a great night, high recommend the degustation, delicious!
Eating Out
It was okay. I was expecting so much from this restaurant as I had heard so much about it but it was really disappointing. The restaurant's interior is cosy and intimate. We had a corner booth and it was nice but the table was so wobbly that every time you moved the wine glasses would just about topple over. The service was good. Food was okay. I had the deep fried calamari, nice and melt in the mouth but oh so oily. Maybe if they had drained it a little bit first before placing it on the brown paper. I realise the brown paper was there for this reason but it just didn't do the job. The side salad was hard and had a horrible dressing that was very sour. My partner had the prosciutto and asparagus... 2 spears of asparagus just doesn't cut it... its only $3.00 for a bunch!!! Wood fired shoulder of lamb was lovely melt in the mouth although a little fatty, cauliflower puree was very nice but I'm not sure about the lentil beetroot and feta salad that it came with and the jus was just very watery. Side of potatoes were so overcooked they were tough not crispy on the outside as they should have been. Desert... oh YUK. Chocolate Zuppa served with pears... the pears were nice the chocolate was okay but the "honeycomb" was horrible. If you liked burnt tasting honey you would love it. It left such a horrible taste in our mouths that we had to come home and have chewing gum. Don't think we will be returning any time too soon.

Sophisticated Food. Sophisticated and elegant cooking. Good ingredients with great flavour. The Monday night special is excellent value. Pasta with prawns, duck with porcini sauce and the pineapple with gingerbread icecream - all excellent. Professional service and nice ambience. Will be back

10 out of 10. What a divine suburban restaurant. The service was exceptional as was the menu. However, very overpriced for a suburban restaurant. Three spinach gnocchi on a plate.....and paying top price for them. No wonder Perth is now renowned for being so expensive. Why are we paying so much to enjoy a Saturday night out? Nonetheless, it was an enjoyable experience, but won't be back in a hurry.
Anniec2
Very disappointed. We visited DivIdo this evening hoping for a special Italian dinner.
What a disappointment ......we cannot remember being so dissapointed in food.
Overpriced not fresh very second grade for the prices charged.
The wine list was limited and expensive.
I really believe they should look at what they are serving up now and stop riding on very outdated reviews.
Al Fresco
Good food, good service, worth a visit. We came here mid week, it was a quiet night as the staff explained and in some ways I think it may have been better when trying a new restaurant. The menu is not very big which is good for a change. The wine list is reasonable but buying by the glass is too expensive, it makes sense to go for the bottle. The sparkling water is way too expensive also.

The Tomato and Roasted Pepper Gazpacho and also Woodroasted Pumpkin & Parsley Salad were tasty and adequate starters. For mains the Slow Braised Beef Shin was quite superb but what was missing was a simple basket of bread - it will cost you about $8.00 for the homemade rye bread, which is excellent.

Sweets were tasty with reasonable portions. On top of everything on this particular night the service was excellent - a credit to the manager and the young lady attending to our table.

The cost was a little over what you would expect to pay at this type of suburban restaurant but well worth the visit.

Thought it was great! Warm friendly service, unique menu (Balkan/Mediterranean) and great food that came out on time. Very nice place for a romantic night out as well,

Average. Nice restaurant and good service.
Thought the food was a little lacking in flavour considering sounded amazing from what we read on the menu.
Overall we had high expectations and thought it was average, not sure if we would be back but had a great experience.

Poor performance on valentines day. The Dego was ok, not outstanding. Sommelier was running around to different tables and constantly forgetting to give the wine with the course. Very haphazard and disappointing.

Was looking forward to try this after all the good press. Dissapointing in the usual Perth way: over-priced while it under-delivered on quality, service and environment. While the food was ok it was a stale experience for all three diners. Neither of us will come back any time soon.

Very nice. Been back many times, will continue, it's lovely food, lovely service, balkan nights are lovely also, look forward to next time!

Disappointing, made a reservation on the Monday, received a call late Wednesday, stating they had overbooked and I was cancelled. Good job guys

Great value, great produce. This is a great local restuarant that serves high quality food and great value for money. Ingredients are local and executed extremely well. Not your commercial Italian that is drippng with cream and oil but very refined dining experience and food is decliciously seasoned. Will be back again and again.

Lived up to its high reputation! Amazing degustation dinner and friendly, prompt service staff. Only suggestion would be to add some garnish to the mixed spirit drinks

Great night out. Had the degustation dinner with friends and was truly blown away by how great each course was! I liked the fact we got a choice of mains and the waitress we had was unfaultingly lovely. The restaurant is a bit small but it was surprisingly comfortable and not too loud. Would highly recommend

Love Love Love!. Have been dying to make a trip here and finally did it! Champagne Tuesday is great with 3 courses and french champagne for $69ea - can't go wrong. The Ox tongue was a delicious surprise and the crab tagliatelle did not skrimp on the crab and bursting with flavour. The duck was crunchy and the gnochi was surprising and also delicious (not 100% convinced about the olives in this one - but still enjoyed it). The Zucotto and fritules didn't disappoint either. I liked it more once the lights were dimmed and a few candles for the evening would really add to the atmosphere but otherwise well decorated and looked after. Our waitress, not sure her name (Asian descent) but she was wonderful. Service was inpeccable. Really impressed and have already spread the word! Looking forward to attending a Balkan feast - however getting 4 people together can be a bit of a struggle (perhaps for 2 would be good too?). Thanks for a wonderful experience.

Degustation. Have the degostation menu! everything delicious, great matching wines too. Went last night (saturday) and the waittress was very helpful (i have a seafood allergy) so she recommended alternatives which were great. she also knew a lot about the food and the wine and answered all our questions. my husband and i had a great time celebrating our anniversary, we had a gift voucher but will definitely return as we found prices quite reasonable!!! divido came highly recommended and lived up to expectations. they just go that extra bit of effort :-D

Overheard higher level employers treating employees disrespectfuly. Made my experience very uncomfortable. Would not recommend for both customers and employees.

DOUGHNUTS!!!. Friendly service
We had the Duck & Crab Pasta
Duck was amazing
Crab Pasta (entree) was delicious and just enough to fill my belly (probably needed a bit more crab :)

Highly rate the home made Doughnut balls for desert- so soft and made with love... they are absolutely amaaazing!! They remind me of the homemade doughnuts served at one of the stalls at Beaufort St festival...but thats another story.....

Great time last night. Had a great experience at divido's on tuesday. Shared the lamb shoulder and shared entres which were just spectacular. Both the waitresses were so friendly and helpful and explained the food as it came out. a great spanish red also went down very nicely. 10/10

My husband and I often dine out...and can sonetimes be a little harsh with our reviews! BUT...we have nothing negative to say about Divido! The food was amazing (highly recommend the degustation with matching wines). The service was fantastic and the price was very reasonable! Will definatly be going back! 10/10!

Didn't actually get to go for dinner. I booked a table for a girlfriend and I for Saturday night. I discovered that in addition to the $80 minimum charge there was a limit of 2 hours on the table. We don't have huge appetites and could have lived with one or the other but not both - particularly the table limit. I sent an e mail saying why I was cancelling and received an automatic computer generated cancellation. I would have expected a call or email to discuss flexibility. Its a buyers market and if they are full every Saturday I guess they don't care.

Loved it, food was amazing and good service. Really good price $65 for a 3 course dinner with a glass of champagne

What a Rippoff!. We booked a table for 8 for Saturday night for dinner,we were not informed that it was compulsory to have a 3 course meal at $80 PP minimum.Luckily we saw it on the website, went to enquire, yes that was right and so we cancelled our booking.$1000 is too too much for one meal,Divido, greed never pays.We then booked a table for 8 at the Tamarind down the road at $15-25 per person and the food is just as good.

Cool spot! Service was fant.... Cool spot!
Service was fantastic! Great décor and restaurant is nice and small so very intimate. Food was yum - had the duck which came highly recommended. Could've done with a bit more mash and sauce but very tasty. Prawns for entrée were a winner. Great wine.

Extortionate dining! Avoid!. Had the misfortune to dine at Divido and was deeply unimpressed with the dry food and pricing. Although the staff seemed nice this place is a sham and my partner and I are in total disbelief at the ratings it has received. If you do end up here, whatever you do, don't go for the steak as it's bland with no sauce and the barramundi is dry. Go somewhere else this place is a rip off!!

Absolutely delicious. The Balkan degustation was well worth the expense. Food was cooked to perfection and went down a treat. Exceptional service.

AWESOME!. Visited Divido for their 'Champagne Monday' with parents visiting from Adelaide ($65 for 3 x courses + a glass of champagne!). Everything was impeccable - the food was awesome, ambiance great (we could hear each other speak!), however the service is what should really be commended. Whoever is in charge of training the service staff has done an incredible job - we received 'silver service' quality attention all evening. We watched all evening as no-one was left at the door for more than a few seconds before being guided to a table. Staff were attentive without being overbearing, and we delighted in the small touches such as placing the non-serving hand behind the back as service staff poured drinks. As locals, we'll definitely be returning and spreading the word - our new favourite dining experience. Well done guys - we can't stop talking about the evening, as it was a refreshing experience to receive such quality attention in Perth.

Disappointing. Saturday night four of us had pre booked and ordered the degustation menu. Bad choice! This restaurant is an example of extra ordinary expensive food and wine.

One dish, the anti pasta had rock melon upturned to camouflage the watery dry marks of previous cuttings - probably days prior. The barramundi portion was tiny dry, and stuck to the plate. Upon our arrival at 7-30 pm we were told there was only 2 fish meals left, the only other option was pork. The The wine was not quality.

We were given a centre table where we were cramped in and unable to push the chair back to be more comfortable.

The restaurant was noisy. All in all, it was not a pleasant place to be. The only plus I can give this establishment was that it had plenty of staff - only our waitress could hardly speak English and I had to keep asking her to repeat herself. We all left disappointed. Shame on you Divido, lift your game!

Too expensive for what you get. Went to Davido's last night for a birthday dinner with a team of seasoned restaurant goers, and due to the main courses and pricing we left unimpressed. The table had the set $80 per head 3 course so with wine it came to $100 per head, which for a restaurant in Mount Hawthorne is extremely expensive. The pasta entree was fine, but the beef had to be scraped off the plate! The main (angus steak), which came under the pretence of having a rosemary and anchovy 'sauce' was dry, bland and like a barbecued rough cut with no sauce. The barramundi and duck were also dry. When we complained we received a thimble of dessert wine for compensation. All in all, this restaurant has OK elements, but there's far better value for money at nearby establishments, who've also spent considerable money fitting their place out. Divido is effectively a small rectangular room with a load of tables crammed into it, and making you pay through the nose for the experience. It's a prime example of a restaurant that gives itself a fancy, arguably pretentious name, and provides mediocre food at exorbitant prices. Trust me, go somewhere else, there's far better value to be had!

The flavours are good but the servings are too small. For that, I will not return.

Something has changed?. Divido's is our place to go for birthday celebrations, fantastic food, service and atmosphere and reliable pricing and value, time and time again. We left on Thursday saying - hmmm, nice but...what was missing? Its edge? We choose a pasta entree - the lamb shank pasta and insipid tomato sauce lacked punch! The spinach and mushroom rotolo was lovely, but we came away unconvinced that entrees had delivered that speciall introduction to a memorable meal. Not so our main, we love the wood fired duck and chose it again. But our side dishes did not compliment this rich serving. The beans in pancetta were very strongly flavoured. The raw red cabbage, chunky gorgonzola and olive oil (slightly rancid) did not work well, so maybe our wrong choice. Our decaf coffee was burnt with the hotness of the water. Service at Divido's is usually exemplary. Perhaps as it was a quieter night, the staff needed to chat more at the counter to fill in time, but I didnt really need to hear it! All in all, I need to rethink whether to return.

My worst experience at a restaurant ever! I own a business and It would feel awful if someone wrote that about my restaurant however they need to sit and take in a service from their staff and chef's. Crab pasta entre could have been twirled with a fork to make one large mouthful, not that I eat like that but it's just not substantial enough, I don't care how good you think the food is. Steak was awful, grissle and no sauce? Nothing to hide how dry it was. I tried my friends Pork shoulder which was amazing!! Very tender and nice sauce. We arrived at 7:30pm and left at 10:30pm. It was a terrible experience and I would try somewhere else. I'm sure people have had good experienced there for it to have 85% likes however all 6 of us at they table said the service was lacking and 3 didn't like the food. $600??

After reading all the great reviews, thought would give Divido a try. We traditionally have degustation dinner for our wedding anniversary. Today was no exception. We've been to Jackson's,, Friends, Star Anise and A'Muse.
This is the second worst on that list. Only slightly ahead of friends due to better service. Wow, what a disappointment. With the rave reviews we thought we were in for a special night. Man, were we wrong. The food was boring and bland. The Antipasti was something anybody could have thrown together at home. A little bit of prosciutto, soft cheese and rock melon. Got a knife? I can prepare that for you. This was follow by the only decent course, pan fried ox tongue. The herb ricotta al forne, bland bland bland. The next course, mushroom & spinach rotolo. This was too similar to the al forne in style. A cheesy based course followed by another cheesy course. Not great menu design. Then the last main, choice of pork shoulder or snapper. Or should I say, choice of over cooked pork or over cooked fish. The pork shoulder was dry and the fish was more blandness. Dessert was ... Alright. Nothing special. Ice cream was nice, but it's just standard.
Degustation should be an wonderful food experience. Tonight definitely wasn't that. Disappointed beyond belief. Their a la carte menu maybe better. Actually, anything will be better.
We probably will stick to Jackson's next year. Now that was an great food experience.

Great all rounder. We went with a group of 10 for the friday night 3 course, $80 set menu and left very happy.
The food was fantastic, although the 2 course option for $70 is pricey. The lamb ravioli, roast half duck, fish of the day (crisp skin barramundi) and beef carpaccio were particularly good. The service was ok, it took a long time to be offered drinks in a close to empty restaurant.

All in all, highly reccommended.

Well played, Divido. Well played.. The pressure was on as I had chosen this restaurant for our group of four to dine in. None of us had eaten here before. Went with the Champagne special for $65. Any 3 courses from a la carte menu plus a glass of champagne (I think laurent perrier). Entrees- Exmouth prawns, beef carpaccio, calamari, and ox tongue. The prawns were ever so slightly overcooked but the rice that came with it was deeeeelicious! All other entrees were thoroughly enjoyed. Mains- 2x woodfire roasted half duck, 1x lamb shank agnolotti, 1x beef maltagliata. Beef and duck were amazing. More of the anchovy & rosemary sauce for the beef would have been nice. lamb shank pasta does not come with a whole lamb shank just to pre-warn and fellow diner found it to be a bit too salty with all the olives and capers. Dessert- Chocolate and hazelnut zuchotto (amazing), moscato cream cannoli (also amazing), lemon tart (quite good), and cheese board (very good but an additional $9). Everything was enjoyed by all. Service very good. Ambience good. Will definitely return.

Intimate, delicious dining.. What a great place. Divine food, lovely service, knowledgeable staff - (we were fortunate enough to have the chef as our waiter as it was his night at front of house). My pasta with crab was sensational - I didn't want it to end. I can't fault this place. Stand out Italian food. Love it! Definately going back!!

This was a case of menu selection playing a big part in rating the restaurant. I had the lamb pasta entree (delicious), crab pasta main (good without being fantastic, pasta slightly undercooked) and moscato roll desert (again delicious) for a generally great overall experience. Wife had the prawns (over cooked and not deveined), crab pasta and Croatian doughnuts (chewy, bland and very heavy) and she doesn't want to go back. Suggest people do their research on sites like urban spoon before deciding on their selections!

Divides seldom fails to disappoint. Food is an experience rather than a meal. Well presented too. Love the carpaccio!! But....is it just us or why does one not always get a condistendly good experience in that Perth restaurants seem to always botch one or more parts. Like tonight, we ordered a veg side which never arrived. Annoying. Waitresses fault as they just don't seem to pay attention!
