"WHICH COFFEE DO YOU USE?' this Whippeteer enquired. The answer was unexpected.
"MY BROTHER ROASTS THE BEANS" the Barista/Owner replied. "That way you can control the quality" he added. The flavour is unique.
Yes, Cafe Axxess take their coffee SERIOUSLY.
We loved it.
My preferred coffee. It's a bit nicer than your regular industrial estate cafe, but has higher prices because of it. The food is good enough for what it is, but not better than the other side of Ferntree Gully Road (which also ain't cheap). But the coffee...
When they get it right (which used to be always, but alas, no longer. A little hit and miss now) it is the best cappuccino or flat white in Melbourne. Well, it is if your preferred is Piazza D'Oro like mine is. Milano blend, I believe.
Now all you coffeenista's that say you have to have 100% arabica, and think St Ali's is the Holy Grail, stay away (you nancy girls you). I don't want your type at my local. Real men don't mind a bit of robusta. Just like the great houses in France don't mind a little something to improve the blend, or our very own Grange Hermitage. The coffee here is a man's drink. And, er, a ladies drink, if you are a lady. it's not the insipid, lukewarm rubbish at St Ali. Just don't eat the biscuit (I'm being literal, it's not urban slang), it ruins the flavour of the coffee.
Great coffee and they are quick to make it. Had lunch there a few times and the food was good for the price.
Also they returned my wallet after I stupidly left it there.
