Review Hong Kong Cuisine - Myaree

Food here is tasty and served quickly too. The portions of the dish served is generous for its price. Unfortunately the rice served was slightly soggy. Staff here are quite friendly and quick to attend to you.

I missed their old menu where you can get a variety of sichuan food or mainland Chinese food. Now their food has more in line with the name of their restaurant. You get more of Hong Kongnese food. Not that it's a bad thing. The food that we ordered were delicious. I love their golden salted egg prawn. Service stays the same, attentive and quick. Place do need a makeover as it has stayed the same for more than two decades. The restaurant before this was called Jimbaran - an Indonesian restaurant, with the same decor.

The only thing that keep me coming is the boiled fish fillet soup, super delicious, especially on cold winter days šŸ˜‹ next is the chili and salt pork ribs. 2 must order items šŸ˜šŸ˜ friendly staff, food coming super quick even on busy time, great price, big portion. Really recommended this place

Went for lunch today. The service was poor and unfriendly. I asked for the music to be changed, and for it to be turned down also after that, so that we could hear each other talk. Both were not done willingly, but I remained polite and friendly, with no response from the waitress. The quality of the food was also very poor. The Spring Rolls and other Entree were tasteless and not crisp. The Laksa Sauce was by far the worst I have had in recent times and I eat it regularly at other Asian restaurants in Fremantle. The soup element was poor, lacking in authentic character, and the quality of the meats and vegetables were sub standard in quality and preparation. The only saving grace were what I presume were commercially bought noodles. I have had far better locally at the same price, and given the poor service and poor food, I would certainly not recommend it, nor will I return. Hong Kong Cuisine certainly needs to up its game - it is nothing like authentic Cantonese style food! The restaurant decor was also dark and uninviting .and the restaurant virtually empty. All in all a very poor experience! If I could give it a zero I would do so.

Very disappointed dinner experience today. We are regular customer. Rice served in cold and soggy and taste like a left over rice, eggplant dish has no salt in it and cauliflower dish served in cold and tasteless. Old management is much more better and food is much more delicious for sure and restaurant is half empty hence this is the reason. Staff is very unfriendly and advised this restaurant is only cater for non Mainlanders and only serve for Hong Kong style and this is disgusting comments as Hong Kong food is much more delicious and this is the chef issue and quality and the food is below average and my daughter can cook better. I do not want to go back again and I believe the business will gone down like this. Food has to be warm and with salt in it as basic. Very terrible dinner with my family.

I ordered takeaway from this place and it was really good. The vegetarian fried rice had so many vegetables I was so impressed. Not oily or greasy like other restaurants. We really enjoy the chilli and salt squid. Packed beautifully. The batter was crispy and a nice salty taste. Very impressed by their dishes will be ordering more in the future.

Food was quite bad. Roast pork had a strong burnt taste. Duck was bland and hard.

Absolute great experience! I went there with my family. Very surprised, it serves authentic southern Chinese food. I lived in Dongguan for eight years and have tried many different kinds of local food. The food they served reminds me of the days when I lived in Guangdong. I'm so happy to have the most authentic Cantonese food in this restaurant since I've been back. The restaurant is not big, but the dining environment is very comfy. You wouldnā€™t find any rigid decoration like other Chinese restaurants in there. We didnā€™t order any deep fried stuff, like sweet and sour or salt and pepper, because we were seeking for traditional Cantonese food. The dishes we ordered were roasted duck and roasted pork combo (roasted pork was very fresh and crunchy, it just made my day), preserved pork belly with preserved veg (meat was very soft, fatty but not greasy), chicken claypot (famous Cantonese street food), claypot eggplant with chicken and salted fish(I really regret that I forgot to tell the waitress to add more salted fish, which is the soul of this dish), and beef brisket (soft, rich dried tangerine flavor). Thumbs up for reasonable price and excellent food. And also very patient and friendly service, the waitress always smiled when she served us. Although she was wearing a mask, could still see the smile through her eyes. Canā€™t wait to visit next time!

I was really looking forward to this outing. Our friends Susie and Simon had been telling us for a while about this fabulous Chinese restaurant close to their home. It had been dubbed ā€˜Chinese in the Caveā€™ and I was curious to experience this food in an unusual setting. The first thing that you notice as you walk in is that the decor is indeed very cave-like, but also the clientele is almost exclusively Chinese, and there are various notes on the window (probably special set menus) that are not in English. This was a good sign because if Chinese people are happy to eat here, it points towards it being very authentic.

My family from Hong Kong came here to visit me. I took them to this restaurant because they said wanted something Canton after many days of western foods. They said the foods from this restaurant made them feel like home. <br/><br/>We ordered the steamed abalone, halibut fish, beef brisket with tofu and salt egg yolk prawns.<br/><br/>Everything was perfect with very large portion. <br/><br/>Very attentive service as well.<br/><br/>Will keep coming back.

We ordered the ginger chicken, roast chicken and crab sweet corn soup. The soup had the consistency of snot, ginger chicken was terrible the meat tasted old and the roast chicken was just as bad. Not a good first experience with Hong Kong Cuisine.

Quick service and friendly waitstaff. Had the sizzling tofu, seafood inside yam ring, sweet and sour fish and beef ho fun. Favorite dish was sizzling tofu. Very filling and fast to arrive on table. Definitely value for money and nice place for casual family dinner.

visited this place few times for their liunch special. the dishes is plentiful and price reasonable as well. love their honey chicken with fried rice and other lunch dishes...for $9.50 its definitely much better than going to mc donald

Came for dinner with family and notice the standard of food has dropped. Everything is oilier than before. Suspect a change of chef or ownership. These days many businesses are being bought up by mainland chinese and things start going downhill.<br/><br/>Came in today attracted by the set lunch prices as low as $8.50. Ordered a beef in egg sauce noodle or beef wa tan hor. The rice noodle was not pre-fried to hive the brown color and charred flavour. Beef slices were overcooked to the extend they were chewey.<br/><br/>Lesson learned. Not coming back again.

Come into the restaurant and enter into a cave...what the!?<br/>That was abit different. <br/>We ordered several dishes n they were all average. One great thing was all dishes were had fresh n tender protein.<br/>Flavours were lacking n the beef had too much cherry wine flavour.<br/>Roast duck had very crispy skin and a flavoursome sauce but was dry. <br/>Steamed chicken dry but good flavour.<br/>Their deep fried item were oily... need to change oil. <br/>Generous portion.<br/>

Good service and great atmosphere but that's were it ended ! Combination noodles had 1 piece if squid and about the same of meat , and actually had a burnt taste . Chilli chicken and rice was ok , but a little oily ! Don't think we will return

Very oily food, they use processed chicken pieces instead of real chicken and try to charge me for using my PayPass. The prawn balls were not good either.. Could hardly taste prawn.

I have not been in this restaurant for 2 years and last Sunday, I decided to go here with my gf. Overall, we like the food. Black Pepper beef was tasty and garlic kailan is much better than last time.

Been there dinner for 2, ordered 2 dishes and it cost us 42 dollar for very disappointed food. We ordered sweet and sour pork and specify ordered "extra hot" chilli chicken but came out with not hot at all. Very disappointed service and charged many unnecessary things with sky high price. Never ever go back for this restaurant

The boys had specials and at $8.00 were very large however the rice had pockets of cold and hot rice and the lemon chicken was seriously oily. Our dishes, fried squid and deep fried battered prawns were cooked in oil that was very old. I was unable to eat either. Now I understand why the waitress tried to steer us towards curry Chicken. Maybe that was fresh that day. The Gai lan in garlic sauce was fine and the Chinese tea was better quality than most restaurants.

Crispy noodle with seafood. A$16.50. Expensive as it had only 1 piece of squid with lots of crab sticks seafood extenders, etc. Noodles were not crispy. Unidentified dark sauce instead of the usual cantonese yin-yong egg sauce. Not recommended. Try something else if you must visit the restaurant.

Cantonese cuisine taste, like between Hong Kong and China. We ordered a 6 person banquet for $198.00, comes with 8 dishes and 1 fruit platter. Missed out the steamed dumplings and fruit platter photos. Large portions suitable for 8-10 persons. Good service.

Simple Cantonese cuisine but delicious. <br/><br/>Had a lunch special, crispy noodle with 3 meats. Unfortunately it wasn't crispy but tasted good. Nothing terribly special but relatively cheap at $8.50. <br/><br/>Went on a Sunday lunch time and it was super busy so much so had to wait a while to pay for my food! Haha!

Great tasting Cantonese style food. The seafood dish with the fried taro ring around it is delicious and we always order that dish when we go there.

Beware when you get your bill for take away order. They will charged you based on Dine in rates which is more expensive than what's quoted in their Take Away menu. Always double check before paying. I almost got cheated today when I ordered my take away today. And the guy over the counter was no apologetic , rude and gave a lame excuse he was unaware!!?? Looks like customer needs to be more aware of their prices instead!! So they just lost my business after today and my average monthly take away budget is about 1,200.00 Well.. Too bad for them !!

Love this place. Took whole family there on my sons 18th, the food was excellent quality and very reasonably priced. As for other viewers complaints about service I can't figure them out ( maybe competitors???) these guys are warm friendly folk and we have received great service on every visit, on the night of my sons birthday , in a packed restaurant they turned the lights down and sang happy birthday to him, with no prompting from us. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Don't get the chicken soup. Is that even chicken? Don't want to know how they make money of this tasteless meal. Service was good though...

How is this place popular?. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AROUND! Dinner for 2. Ordered 5 items off the menu. Ordered soup... never came. Ordered chilli... never came. Other food arrived. Asked where the soup was. Never came back. No chilli. Finished food asked for take away container. Lady realised she never actually went to find out about the soup. Said "The guy forgot". Pass the buck! Well done! Guy was too busy eating at the back, lady was too busy attending to 1 table the whole time. <br/><br/>Here's where you try and redeem yourself so you don't get hammered on Urbanspoon (and you had that opportunity!)<br/>- Pack the soup up and offer it complimentary. <br/>- Dont charge for the $2 drink(s)<br/>- Dont charge the surcharge for paying by credit card after you messed up the meal so badly - biggest insult of all!<br/>- Dont laugh and say "sorry, forgot"<br/>- At least act sincere when apologise for stuffing up<br/><br/>Im ok with mistakes, we all make them but there are plenty of ways of redeeming yourself when you stuff up. WE WILL NEVER GIVE THIS PLACE OUR MONEY AGAIN! The fact this restaurant has an unwritten zero customer service policy makes me wonder how its still in business. They don't deserve to be! Not to mention the food was average.

Lunch specials $7.50!! People complain that perth is expensive, but thank you to hardworking asian restaurant owners all over Australia; u can enjoy life on a budget. I had sweet & sour pork, my wife had chilli/salted chicken... $15 all up and both were excellent! Thank you :)

Yummy. Been here a few times now and staff have always been friendly and helpful. The food is delicious with my fave being the golden prawns, cooked just right and probably the least oily I've ever seen. The house specials like chicken in a wok are unique and yummy too! I can't wait to try out more of their menu.

There was one Monday I went for a late dinner, left with no choice in myaree, so I went in this restaurant. The service wasnt good that night, I seat there for half hour, finally someone got me a menu. I asked for recommendation and followed. I couldn't remember what I had ordered because it wasnt my choice. Anyway, I am not a person who waste food even tho the food is not nice, especially when I was super hungry, I thought I could eat everything served on the table. I try a mouthful of food..I lost most of my appetite, after a third mouth, I couldn't swallow anymore, I seat there for a long while..couldn't wait for my appetite to come back, so I paid and left.<br/>I am from Hong Kong, and this restaurant is not serving normal hong kong food, even my little sister (who's 15 yrs old) can cook a lot better than this.<br/>The positive thing about this restaurant is the cute decor. I thought I went in a little jungle :P

This ain't no HK cuisine! More like China cuisine! Most importantly, it tasted 2 out of 10.<br/><br/>Its crap!

Fantastic Meal!. My husband and I went to the restaurant with 10 others recently. We had such a great evening and tried meals we had never eaten before at the host's recommendation. I highly recommend this restaurant with its very authentic food, fabulous service and atmosphere.

Hong Kong Cuisine. Unlike some extravagant restaurants that just don't live up to their claims and Yu know who I am talking about. This one actually serves "stand out" traditional Hong Kong style food that you will remember, but at a cost that you won't. Very friendly staff coupled with the unusual decor that resembles a cave makes for a great night out. I have eaten here 4-5 times now, the food is consistent every time, all of the dishes I have tried are extremely well done and packed full of flavour. Love their jelly fish, tooth fish, steamed pumpkin and spare rib, Another dish worth trying is their spicy fish soup, which is the best I have tried out of China. The menu is extensive and there is something for everyone. The staff are always happy to recommend a house special that won't disappoint. A great restaurant for all occasions.

If I was near Myaree I would definitely give Hong Kong Cuisine another try, there seemed to be some pretty interesting dishes that other people in the restaurant were eating that I wouldnā€™t mind trying.
