We enjoyed what would have been our fourth or fifth visit to Woodland Kitchen today for a beautiful Valentines Day lunch, and once again we were delighted with the food, lovely atmosphere & attentive service. The blue eye trevalla beautifully cooked, something about the silky pea puree and horseradish kick just makes it something special (I keep ordering the same dish!), and my husband's lamb backstrap was sensational. The pear tartlet hit the right notes with the amazing (& ample!) crumble, and the cheese offerings of manchego, triple cream and a blue, were perfect. The wine list seems to be just right and had really good selections that were recommended to us by the very knowledgable and friendly team, and paired nicely. We have never, ever been disappointed with our experience at Woodland, and having followed the chef Damien Heads from his time back at Garfish, felt it was time to post a review. HIghly recommend for anyone looking for great food, warm service in a lovely, welcoming environment- at very reasonable prices.
A group of 13 usually mean's that the service suffers and this was definitely NOT the case, the service could not have been better.
Jenni looked after us beautifully and was even concerned about my well being enough to ask if it was wise for me to have a second expresso martini on top of the random mix of drinks (answer - it is never wise but that never stops me!)
Amazing service, beautiful food, fantastic night

This restaurant is a family style and to return with your family. Jenny and his team were wonderful. Food great .
Woodlands is a firm favorite for our family. The kids love the kids menu, especially the bologna.
They offer great wine options and the food is amazing. The service is out of this world!!
Seriously great food with amazing service! Have dined here many times and without a doubt the food is carefully considered and beautifully executed. The staff here seem like they really want to be here (even at 10pm on New Year's Eve). Nothing is too much trouble! Enjoyed a very reasonable set menu for $75 per head! Arancini, smoked salmon and venison spring rolls to begin. Followed by snapper fillets and pork belly. Dessert was Raspberry Mess and a triple cream cheese. What a way to finish 2016!
Fantastic food and very friendly service. Great atmosphere for either a quiet date night or a catch up with a group of friends. I love the tuna sashimi and the Ā seared scallop salad. I could eat them every night! Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed.
We came here with a voucher that gave us 3 courses to choose from their regular menu (not some set/special menu with some of the vouchers you buy) and a glass of sparkling.
My husband and I were both surprised at how good the food was and the staff were so friendly. The voucher made the dinner great value for money with the highlight being the seared scallop salad and he chocolate pudding (like a fondant with a oozy centre)
We shared their scallops and zucchini flowers, for mains we had their lamb and pork with nice crackling. Dessert was their chocolate fondant and the pear tart.
We were full afterwards but not uncomfortably so. It's a restaurant worth checking out, too bad I couldn't see Damien Heads in the kitchen!
Came here few weeks back using the voucher. A different take on modern Australian dish. Humble menu with punch of flavour. The service was great. Kudos to Chef Damian Heads! Definitely I will go back here again. I highly reccomend this place.
I probably would not have known this place had it not been a wine voucher I received (lol yes the free wine was the draw card), but it turned out to be a really lovely restaurant with delicious food and attentive service, Iād definitely come again.
Unfortunately the review must be 140 characters long so I cannot simply write 'flawless', but I can repeat flawless over again until I've reached the stipulated character requirement - flawless, flawless, flawless etc etc
So delicious - everything was beautifully balanced and cooked perfectly. I don't think a morsel of food was left on any plate. That good!
Service - spot on.
Thanks for a great experience, hope to be back soon
Very well laid out and very quiet with nice tables and modern decor. Definitely an adults restaurant.
Surprisingly the wine list was very reasonable, it claims to be a bar as well, but i think you would look awkward treating this place like a bar. We had very nice wines, both white and red.
The food is delicious, you pay for it, and the timing was good - you don't feel rushed. The service was extremely good - the waitresses go out of the way to make you feel welcome.
We shared the entrees and loved them all - cooked to perfection with very nice sauces - which they put on the side in most cases so you can add as little or as much as you want.Ā
The mains are not large which in hindsight that is what you should stick to remain healthy, so we ordered the pumpkin and fennel sides. All delicious. We had pastas (light, not oily), fish (delish) and the pork. Cannot fault any of them.
In summary it was a lovely night out and I am writing this review because I hope that this restaurant sticks around, it is more of a fine dining experience than nearby eateries and I think it has that niche all to itself and it does it well. Dress up, grab your friends, leave the car at home and enjoy!
