Love their signature Shio Tori Paitan! Thick and flavourful chicken broth with truffle oil added. Creamy ajitama (soft-boiled eggs), chargrilled chicken slices, and yummy piping hot noodles makes this a perfect ramen. There’s also a side of green chilli paste to add an extra depth to your soup. A must try! おいしいです!
Absolutely delicious! We were looking for a quick noodle lunch and fate brought us straight to Ramen Toriichi. We feasted on the signature lunch special which was served in three parts and ordered a side of these pork bun pancakes filled with chicken katsu, they were amazing!! We will definitely be back again soon.
The low carb noodle option is a game changer for me as a type one diabetic!
Nestled into Waters Rd in Neutral Bay is Ramen Toriichi serving up some drool-worthy dishes that will totally hit your Japanese comfort food cravings. Their signature dish of Cheese Chicken Katsu is a marvel in itself with a crispy crumbed chicken outer encasing molten cheese just begging to be drizzled into your mouth. I also tried the Toriichi Chicken Ramen and Roasted Pork Chashu Ramen which were lovely and warming with rich broth. Classics such as Chicken Gyoza, Edamame and Cucumber Shio made for beautiful lunch that is already pulling me back for more! Service was warm and attentive. A pleasure!
Plenty of options here including items like fish skin you don’t see very often (and is yum if you didn’t know) and lotus root shops. They have this cheese karaage which is different and filling. The ramen had a peppery taste to it,I like it! Came as a guest
Great tasting ramen and sides with both indoor and outdoor seating. Chashu ramen soup was thick and full of flavour, and the cuts of chashu were very meaty which I loved! The cheese chicken katsu was a highlight - the mozzarella was melted perfectly and stringy to pull apart. Would come back!
One of the best Japanese spots for sure! Their delicious ramen is perfect for this winter weather and the innovative Cucumber Miso and Toriichi Special katsu make the experience ever more memorable 😋 The place is small and cozy and the servers are all so kind and friendly! Can’t wait to come back soon ❤️

Ramen Toriichi specialises in delicious chicken-based broths and has recently added a pork-based broth to their menu. I enjoyed slurping up the Ninniku red, it was super thick and full of flavour.
My only complaint is that I didn't think the ramen or spicy gyoza was spicy at all, even though they were marked with chilli symbols.
I recommend trying some of the side dishes as they were really tasty and pretty unique. They had this awesome cheesy katsu and the texture was perfect with the smooth, creamy cheese and crunchy batter. The cucumber miso was a nice surprise, super refreshing.

been visited this restaurant a week ago and I love it!
Had the special ramen set - what a great idea. Excellent food. Sashimi the best we’ve had in a while. Feels like there’s been a positive change here - congrats to the whole team for a top notch simple dinner. Great value.
I am usually a tonkotsu (pork bone broth) fan when it comes to ramen but I got to recommend this place as they serve the richest and thickest chicken broth I’ve had so far!
The red garlic one is garlicky and slightly spicy while the white one is creamy and packed with flavour yet not too salty. The only down side to me is that the chicken tenderloin was a bit dry and bland. Would have been better if fattier cuts are used.
Their cheese chicken katsu is filled with oozing mozzarella cheese and cream that’s super satisfying.
The spicy gyoza were comparatively not so outstanding as the former items really surprised me.
Miso cucumber is very refreshing and made a great appetiser too.
This place is conveniently located in neutral bay, it’s a small shop but not too busy on a sunday night. Ordering is easy with an iPad.
The broth is thick and rich and they do chicken “chashu” instead of pork. The shoyu broth was salty but not overly so. The spicy broth is not toooo spicy, but warming.
It was a little confusing as to what’s in the ramen as the description was not super clear, which resulted in we adding egg to the ramen that already has an egg 😂
I did wish the eggs were the marinated gooey centred type, but it's not :(
Overall fuss free experience and delicious noodles. Also has rice dishes if ramen doesnt float your boat.
Ramen Toriichi is such a hidden gem! I was extremely impressed with the chicken-based ramens, and this is now one of my favourite ramen places of all time. The Niniku Red ramen was so delicious, and I loved how thick and rich the soup was, in the best way possible. I also loved the deluxe ramen teishoku with the half Shoyu ramen and mini chashu don. The side dishes were so tasty and unique as well, definitely try the cheese chicken katsu and miso cucumber. I loved my meal here and would highly recommend trying out Toriichi's incredible chicken based ramen and Japanese food!
Went to Toriichi today, I heard a lot of great reviews from my friends, so my expectations were quite high...
The place is quite hidden, and the sign is not very visible, but I found the place in the end!
Now back to the food: I had the deluxe Teishoku and Niniku red ramen.
Teishoku ramen came in a set - salad, salmon sushi and sashimi, agedashi tofu and a bowl of rice with grilled pork on top. My goodness the ramen broth blew my mind - so thick and creamy! I would go back just to have this ramen!
Niniku red ramen - I thought this would be spicy but then again, as I always said do not judge a book by its cover! It’s not spicy at all! If I can eat it you definitely can eat it too! The broth is not as thick as the Teishoku - a bit watery, still tasty but I love Teishoku better.
Then we had a couple of sides - miso cucumber: refreshingly delicious, I couldn’t stop eating it!
Spicy dumplings - delicious!!
Ohhhhh the main dish that I love is the cheesy chicken tonkatsu! If you are there you must must try this!
Even though it’s a bit far from where I am, I don’t mind travelling to have Toriichi’s ramen again!
Great hospitality and good food!We ordered the Niniku ramen and their signature Toriichi shio ramen, and they are amazing! The broth is thick and has right amount of flavour. We also ordered vegetables tempura, prawn gyoza and their NEW dish cheesy chicken katsu. They are done right and I really love the cheese chicken katsu!!Overall it’s a fabulous dining experience.
Family friendly semi dining experience. Very interesting chicken ramen soup.
Legitimately some of the best tasting japanese food I've had in a while. Not too salty and oily and oh my goodness the chicken was so juicy and succulent (even the fried chicken was crispy outside succulent inside) Great service and prices.
🍲Shiokouji sasami with Spinach konjac noodles with low fat chicken tenderloin in a chicken broth - yay healthy ramen! Much less sodium and carbs than your usual ramen and lean quality cut of chicken instead of the fatty chashu
🍝Namban Hiyashi cold ramen noodles with fried chicken and tartar sauce - first time trying cold ramen and I love it! Such juicy pieces of chicken and tangy namban sauce
🥘Chicken fried rice with mushrooms, egg and spring onion
🥟 Handmade prawn gyoza which actually had a generous amount of real prawn - none of that prawn paste stuff where its blitzed to oblivion so that you dont even know know what you're eating.
So it seems...
Neutral Bay is one suburb where there is an over supply of Japanese restaurants. You simply could not walk down a small street without encountering a Japanese eatery of some sort. You would almost be mistaken to think that you are in Japan!
Wandering through the neighbourhood, I came across this innocuous restaurant that caught my attention.
I made a mental note to return and I did. Boy! Does this know how to serve ramen?!
We ordered their signature ramen ‘shio’ and the soy based ramen ‘kogashi shoyu’
The soup was light but complimented the noodles and condiments in the dish. Their noodles tasted hand made and fresh and to top it all off, this little gem of a find is so affordable for a weeknight eat out! $36 for 2 ppl with drinks. Bargain!
They also do $10 lunches that sounds pretty rad. Looks like I may have to return and check out their lunch specials.
I’d revisit for the sides but not for the ramen.
Gyoza - 5
Karage - 5
Curry ramen - 3.5
Shio ramen - 2 (IMO chicken soup base is more suitable a clear and not thick)
Overall - 3.5 not 4
Having spent a lot of time in Japan, we are pretty choosy when looking for authentic Japanese food... We just LOVE toriichi for amazing gyoza, karaage and ramen with amazing 8-hour broth! Small, intimate setting with cool decor and warm Japanese hospitality - it ticks all boxes.
Have always been a pork tonkotsu ramen person, but decide to try something different. And this shop happens to do chicken-based ramen. The noodles are thinner than tonkotsu noodles which compliments the thinner lighter chicken broth and has a good bite. The shio-based broth is lighter and cleaner than tonkotsu broth, but still retains great flavour. All this served with wood ear mushrooms, shallots to garnish and a seasoned egg.
The karaage chicken was juicy and well cooked.
The restaurant was small but quaint and generally comfortable to sit in.
I have not converted to chicken ramen but it certainly is worth checking out if your a first timer to chicken based ramen. It won’t disappoint.
Ramen Toriichii has always been a favourite of ours since it opened 2 months ago. They opened with a soft launch and very little fanfare, however, their food has been exceptional and consistent.
Food:
The ramen is tasty and crisp. The soup is refreshing and flavorful.
Service:
Service has always been impeccable. Friendly, attentive, and genuine. We have a 5 year old daughter and the waitress will always caution us if there are chilli or sour ingredients in our order.
Ambience:
Unlike most ramen places, Toriichi is simple in design and architecture. Plenty of personal space and room to trike enjoy their magnificent food.
Overall:
Toriichi Ramen is not your conventional Japanese ramen. It molds together modern flavours and a traditional respect for ingredients in an innovative way. Definitely a regular!
I’ve been to many Japanese restaurant in Sydney, the quality of noodles is great, soup is perfect, me and my kids love it. Too late to post photos because all finished :P We will definitely come again!!!

Another ramen joint. Occupying what used to be a carousel of cafes n restaurants, this one opened without much fanfare (read: excessive promos, invites n write ups via social media n PR machine). All the better for them as it allows down to earth (read: no pressure, honest) calibration of ratings n reviews. It can be refreshing to enjoy a joint’s offerings without hyped up expectation. Run by japs n having more than half of its patronage by japs is a reassuring start.
We ordered a couple of their signature shio ramen, chicken namban, coriander dumplings n ebi (prawn) bao. First up the dumplings came out looking a bit dry n sad. Must be the frozen kind we thought. Dont we all judge by appearances.. dip the dumplings in the dumpling sauce n enjoy its delicate paper thin wrap (slightly crunchy yet did not tear easily) n fragrant filling. A nice appetizer 3/5.
Chicken namban, not drenched in ponzu sauce (thankfully) but drizzled w tartar like jap mayo. Juicy succulent pieces they were. A 3.25/5.
Ramen came out piping hot. The broth is hakata style which is less thick n more milky than yasaka or gumshara. Add the pickled yuzu pepper, you’ll get a unique faint citrusy aroma in the broth. Noodles was al dante, just the way i liked em. The let down was the toppings more specifically the (thick) chasu pieces. They were from a leaner cut than i personally like. That said, they were quite soft. Just drier than i’d like. Still a 3/5.
The ebi bao set was quite divine. Perfect ratio of meat n bao. The breaded ebi was juicy yet crunchy. A welcome contrast to the soft bao. A 3.75/5.
Here’s hoping the carousel stops w ramen toriichi.
😍 favourite and best Ramen in Sydney. People are also the nicest and friendliest of the three in neutral bay. Totally love the shio. Great to byo anything with decent snacks to go with the booze. That $10 lunch, best value lunch I've had and its yummy.
New, clean restaurant with friendly prompt service. Lunch special was fantastic value ($10 for an half size ramen, teriyaki chicken on rice and kaarage chicken w/ salad). They forgot my order but were quick to realise, notify and followed up with fast service.

Tasty broth, good texture ramen noodles and generous servings. Pretty good
Unfortunately the Red Toriichi Ramen was way too spicy, the chilli was too overwhelming to taste anything (2 stars).
The Niniku Red Ramen (garlic broth) had the perfect balance of garlic and spices. Chashu topping was made with chicken, not pork, which was different. Could’ve used a bit more seasoning for the chashu.
Giving it 4 stars because the Niniku Red Ramen was delicious!
Not authentic Japanese but it’s pretty good for a lunch option!
The food here is outstanding. The noodles in the ramen as fresh as we’ve had both here and in Japan. Great value for money. We were actually shocked how good it was. Kirin beer ice cold and service great. Is it the best ramen in Sydney? I don’t know. Is it the best ramen I’ve had in Sydney? Definitely. Thank you.
I believe I'm that guy who's been to a ramen place twice and still never had the ramen haha. These cheesey katsu bites are hectic and my inner fat kid loves them! Hidden just off military Rd neutral bay check them out.
The overall taste is good. The salmon is thick and fresh, the chicken rice with mayo sauce and the ramen with chicken soup is delicious. Just the right amount for one person.
Nice soup base !
Generous portion.
Great packaging.
Although not entirely authentic Japanese but still tastes very nice
Beautiful Japanese food. The indoor seating is not bad but the outdoor can get a little windy and cold depending on the weather (apparently heaters are all non functional)
The food is overall nice and well presented. Didn't find the ramen amazing although I do like the pork and chicken broths respectively. The broth is thick but not Gumshara thick.
I personally think the extra ramen portion would ruin/dilute the broth so just order it standalone or just ask if they can separate the extra serving on a side.
The deep fried food are nice, and love the smon skin. the curry is not bad either. The pan fried gyoza isn't the normal japanese gyoza I've had but still alright.
Will come back for more.
