Love the place! My favourite craft beer venue in NSW, I've happily driving past numerous other good venues to get to the Grain Store since the day it opened.
Beers are always on point, knowledgable and friendly staff, great food, great atmosphere and a dickhead free zone.
You cant get "mainstream" beer there though, but there is always a great indie beer for "non-craft beer" types, just ask the staff.
This is not just a beer lovers paradise, it's a place for families and serious beer connoisseurs to mix in the same venue without any issues.
Their selection of wines and spirits is excellent, and the food is very good.
The staff are also great - very friendly and helpful.
They have live music most weekend afternoons, and possibly nights (I'm usually there in the afternoon.
All in all it's probably the best pub/ live entertainment venue in Newcastle.
Well worth a visit.
Loved it! Food was all very tasty - from the wings to the pumpkin salad, the burger to the califlower bites - it was all great.
The whole family also enjoyed that there are games ready for patrons to pick up and play.
And that doesn't even begin to describe the great the beer menu.
Great beer selections, good food and quick service! Always a good option for a quick beer and bite!

Great atmosphere in this iconic Aussie Pub no Pokies, just a hub for catching up with friends and family, great selection of craft beers some wine and apple ciders. It’s a popular pub and has American style food which is delicious like ribs. They provide games and also live music, and there are food and beer events throughout the year like Octoberfest. Not very spacious and best to catch the Lightrail or Uber not much parking in Newcastle East. Opposite Newcastle Beach Lightrail platform – Highly recommended 10/10

Garlic pizza great, chips great, atmosphere great, steak was really nice and tender, one was a little underdone but was still good.
Funky, eclectic decor makes for a great atmosphere. Amazing beers on tap!! Quality non alcoholic beer available too. Great food served quickly. Recommend the buffalo cauliflower to everyone!

Staff very helpful with beer selections and more than happy to offer tastes of multiple options and an A grade margarita.
