Both excited and delighted to write a review for this restaurant. Located in an old bank building in downtown Newcastle Australia ...Reserve features a very in depth wine list by the glass. The service was splendid..... but the food stole the show. A fish dish with beurre blanc sauce and ginger roasted pumpkin was recommended to me. Insanely good is all i can say. HIGHLY recommend Reserve for a fantastic experience!

Tried this place for dinner and it was fantastic. We arrived around 6.30pm on Saturday and it was pretty quiet. It filled up later around 7.30pm. I like the setting in an old ANZ bank. It has a casual dinning atmosphere like a pub. We had the wine flight which was great and consisted of 3 half glasses of wine which you choose from about 2 pages of different wines. Staff were really helpful in making suggestions. They've got excellent wine. We also ordered the sweet potato chips, squid, spring rolls and Pad Thai. My favourite was the Pad Thai - it had a perfect balance of flavour. The spring rolls were excellent too. We finished the chips super quick because they were so tasty. The squid was nice but a bit too salty. We probably needed to swap out a fried dish with something not fried. They're all small tasting plate sizes so our order was more than enough for 2 people. I would dine here again if I am ever in town!

The staff and service are perfect ! Cocktails are so good, and omg the food was simply amazing !! From the starters to dessert, everything was just so tasty, well dressed, we just loved it!! Definitely recommend the kangaroo! I also tried the carrot cake with gingerbread and mascarpone for dessert, it was the first time they put it on the menu and asked for my feedback, well it was delicious 🤤 !!! Highly recommend this place for dinner :)

Our favourite venue in Newcastle, with even more reason for it to be now! We recently had our wedding reception at Reserve. Everything about it was perfect. Dean, the manager, was a legend to deal with. He was so easy going and completely on the ball. The night went so smoothly. The staff and service was excellent. The food was divine (as always) and they were even able to cater for some complicated dietary requirements. Can't wait to visit such an awesome venue again soon.

Our booking here was for Valentine's night and it was superb! Inside is cosy and although it isn't terribly roomy around the tables, it is by no means loud, the high ceilings and design really helps. They of course have a massive amount of wines, not just between the grape varieties but the range of year releases as well. The food menu is smaller than a usual restaurant, but they are the perfect combination of items. Entre or snack was the beef tartare which was perfect in flavour, with a Chardonnay. We had the potato gnocchi with lamb, which was amazing, paired with the broccoli beans and cashew gratin as a side and a Shiraz viognier blend. Dessert we had the hazelnut praline with dark chocolate and orange, paired with a dessert Riesling. Overall the service was great, the atmosphere was quiet and private and the food was just perfect. Would recommend and will go here again.
