The best pizza experience possible. We are not from Newcastle, but were excited to try their very wide range of vegan pizzas. From the base up, can not be faulted. A sourdough chef making fresh bases, then topped with fresh ingredients. We ordered 5 different pizzas, all with unique palettes of flavour! Will be back every time back through Newy. P.S. out of the 5 we ordered i strongly recommend the mushroom vegan pizza, with the truffle oil. Divine flavour.
This is the best pizza I've eaten in Newcastle, Sydney and Italy! I am trying to think of a better tasting pizza and I simply cannot. We had the chorizo and honey - perfectly spicy, salty and sweet as well as the 4 cheese. SO GOOD! Usually I leave the crust of a pizza because I don't want to fill up on boring dough but Masa Madre's crust has a really yummy, unique sourdough flavour and a chewy texture. These guys know about flavour and know about dough. I never write facebook reviews but had to after last night's experience I had to. YUM YUM YUM.
Pizzas were delicious. Some of the best quality pizzas i ever had. The Pizza base was perfectly cooked with crispy edges with the right amount of chew.
Ordered 4 Cheese and the La Picadura
The 4 Cheese had a great mix of cheese and with an unusual addition of red leicester. Perfect amount of blue cheese to add that funky punch without overpowering the rest of the pizza.
The La Picadura was recommended and was delicious. The sweetness from the honey was suprisingly harmonious with the hot salami.
Would not hesitate to have both pizzas again.
I noted that when i called to order on the telephone for takeaway I was told the wait time was 1.5 hours. Despite the long wait times (probably because they are so busy due to how great thier pizzas are) the pizzas wereworth the wait. Need to remeber to order early to account for any waits.
Beautiful pizza and really friendly staff. The garlic pizza was great and the Marg was perfect with added bacon on top. Prices were really good for the quality you are getting. I will say that I am glad I ordered ahead because the wait time can be about an hour. Well worth it though! Will be going back.
Having never been here before, I called in the middle of the day to make a reservation... Yeah don't do that, there's places to eat there but it's not your traditional restaurant. The owners and I had a good chuckle about that 😅
It's a lovely little hole in the wall in the back streets of Wickham, just up from the lass. It's a bit hard to find of a night time if you've never been there because the Google maps pin sends you across the street and down a little bit.
Once you get there through, it's got a really nice and quiet atmosphere. It kind of reminds me of suspension coffee's vibe from the mid 00s. They do one thing, they do it really well and it's not ludicrously expensive.
I'll be back for sure.
What a hidden gem of a pizza place!!! There's a reason all the reviews are so high!
Came for dinner on Friday night, few seats available for dining in outside but seems to mainly be a takeaway joint. Long wait for the pizza but the kitchen was understandably busy with people coming and going every few minutes.
The pizza itself was amazing, fresh, delicious and up there with the best we've had in Newcastle. The corn on the cob special was also awesome, would recommend it!
Cant wait to come back and try more of the menu, highly recommend this place!!
Delicious pizza. The dough was really enjoyable to eat, light and flavoursome. There were some really fun pizza toppings to choose from and I am excited to try some more flavours. The amount of toppings was generous and the pizza was not oily. The zucchini pizza was especially surprising with the chilli and lemon - a bit of a strange combo but delicious nonetheless. We also got the dessert ring and I will get that again. There was a very a lot of Nutella and ricotta inside. Yummmm.
Damn fine pizza. Get 4-5 pizzas for 4 people. Get the whipped feta dip for the pizza crusts. The basque cheesecake is nek level also.
The menu is fairly limited but the pizzas are great. Try to get in early or be prepared to wait. There is very limited seating.
A great pizza place located in the middle of nowhere. The pizza are simple and creative with a home made surdough base cooked in a woodfire oven, just perfect! A bit pricey though. No seating inside, some table outside or good for takeaways.
