Staff were friendly and attentive, and the venue was large, clean, and modern for the most part. Parking was easy, with plenty in the public carpark opposite. Meals were quick to arrive, reasonably priced, and tasted nice (but not great). A little disappointed because the menu on their website was old so some items weren't available, and also the "order on your phone from your table" also said many of the items were unavailable (although we could buy them in person at the cashier). Drinks were a little expensive, even for soft drinks, and the kids play area was quite tatty and rundown. Overall a good experience, would come again, but am not rushing back.

Service is great but the food has gone from great, to complete rubbish in the last year. Hers a pic of the Barramundi I ordered at Barramundi prices. Turns out it looks just like flathead and tastes like it wasn't temp checked when delivered 😕

Just had lunch here with a couple of friends today, Tuesday 28th. We all commented on the excellent service. The staff in the restaurant area today, all gentlemen, were friendly, attentive, worked as a team and made a positive impression on us. I would like management to know you have some excellent staff, one who took our order told us he had just started, and they deserve praise. The people with me own a commercial cleaning company and commented on the attention to detail they had when cleaning and keeping an eye on the area. So congratulations all round. Food was great and well priced too. I'm just sorry I didn't get their names.

5+++++++++ for Bell and Nat. Absolutely fantastic service from both these girls. They went above and beyond. Absolutely fantastic coming from working also in hospitality also I was watching bell work the way she was communicating with all the customers was amazing she definitely deserves a pay rise or a promotion into bistro supervisor or even into management if I owned my own tavern shed definitely be up into those roles real quick. The Attention to detail with the words and her personality was was incredible. Also amazing work to both girls running a full FOH bistro by them selves was incredible no mistakes one bit. I can’t praise you both enough. Great work. One team one dream 🙏

Just had a lovely lunch here.The decor looks nice, service was exceptional. Each of the staff members we encountered were energetic, smiling and aiming to please without being smothering. They were on top of everything. Drinks were delivered to our table as was our order. I recommend the chef’s specials, the Nasi Goreng with satay skewers was delicious and a decent serve for the price. We were able to use a voucher here which gave us a discount. We enjoyed a comfortable hour here in front of the fire before heading to the movies.

Dinner was served quickly quite expensive for what was served the mashed potato? Not sure it was potato, had a peculiar colour and taste and was thinner consistency than the accompanying sauce.
Beer was cold and tasty but very expensive too

Have been frequenting the Mattara Hotel now for quite a few years and they never fail to deliver. In the past couple of years they have really stepped up adding a great new menu with a variety of meals which not only look good but taste delicious. Visited for a meal over this June Long Weekend and the bistro was getting hammered.. The bad weather obviously had people flocking indoors. The staff pulled together, stayed focused, kept smiling and did an incredible job.. Well done everyone for an amazing effort this weekend. And, as always a great meal at an affordable price.

Went for lunch today, so disappointed..
- 1 hour wait for food
- Chicken schnitzel was burnt to the point where I couldn’t cut through the edges
- Sauce was extremely bland
- Chicken mushroom pie was also burnt and bland
Not sure if there has been a change in chef? We used to love this place but won’t be back anytime soon.

Dined at Mattara Tuesday 5/12, specifically looked for a meal no onion, ordered spinach & ricotta ravioli, food served floating in a pool of sauce, no pine nuts, minimal baby spinach and loaded with onion which was not listed on menu. Meal was edible but presentation was atrocious and sometimes added items is not what the customer wants in their meal!

Went for dinner. The girl in the bistro serving was lovely as were the bar staff. Had the ribs and wings combo and it was amazing definitely recommend!

It was a lovely atmosphere and attentive staff who were knowledgeable on the specials. My friend and I really enjoyed our meals. Would highly recommend- decent food for a good price.

Shame about the quality of the food. I blame the chefs and kitchen not the establishment. Get rid of them it's time for change!!! Tonight was our very last time here. Enough is enough....thanks for the stomach ache

I have been to the mattara a few times and has been wonderful but today had to wait an hour and 45minutes to get food that was cold and terrible. Staff did apologise but not a very good experience and most meals were expensive for the little bit you got.

Went for the last time on Thursday night- just over an hour wait for cold food and they struggled to deliver what was on the menu.. No sweet potato fries, no turkish bread, no sauce for the barramundi fillet. Apparently they should have told us this when we ordered when we complained but not sure how that fixes it.

We had a reservation today for lunch as we were going to the movies later. We waited in line for 20 minutes, only to be told it was an HOUR wait for food! We had been here for lunch once before, and the food was okay, if overpriced. They did give my husband the wrong pie, and my son didn't like the flavour of the burger. Thought we'd give it another try - never again. Yes, it was the long weekend, but this should be anticipated.

My husband never complains about food and gets really annoyed with me if I do! With only one wage coming in eating out is a treat but last night he responded when the waitress asked him 'was everything alright?' No it was terrible, tasteless and he could have done better himself at home! The waitress took it quite well but I suspect wasn't able to offer us any explanation on why the food was REALLY POOR, no quality or finesse.
