Excellent service and variety of dishes , the cod and dessert are a cut above. Wonderful to see the herb garden at the back, worth a trip to the toilet simply to admire the variety and personal love and effort put into each dishes preparation.

I first went to Oscillate Widely when it opened a number of years ago. When management changed, I expected a change in quality - but that has never happened! Great range of tastes and flavours with a good size portions. We went for tor the smaller wine pairing which was generous and perfect. The most amazing dish was the the cuddle fish wrapped in cabbage... loved it...great experience

For most courses of the degustation the food is simple yet with creative flavour. However a few things have made this place less competitive: 1. Space downstairs doesn't feel classy and tables are just too close (it may be a neighbourhood restaurant, but the price isn't); 2. Portion is just a little bit on the small size; 3. Yes we ordered sparkling water, but it didn't mean we wanted to open a second bottle without being asked. If you don't mind these constraints by all means it's a fine culinary experience.

Oscillate Wildly is a tiny little place. Its an old house just off Princes Highway in Newtown. The downstairs seats about 16 and there is a private dining room upstairs that must be able to sit about the same. The Menu is pure degustation with the only choice being to wine match or not. We were there in January 18 so it was very much a summer menu and we went the matched wine (Of course!). The opening of the Scallop Ceviche was a delight and it just danced across the tongue, beautifully matched with the 17 Frankland Estate Riesling The stand out matching for me was the Cauliflower, Roe and Squid ink with the Mii No Kotobuki Diden Kojo Sake. Cauliflower and Sake, not a pairing I would have personally considered but the cauliflower and roe brought out the sweetness and fruit of the Sake with bright, light, flavours. I would have repeated that dish by itself. The standout dish was the Lobster, Nasturtium and Bergamot. I am not a big lobster fan so I was surprised and delighted at the sweetness of this dish. The Cherry and Tomato with sweet Raspberry vinagrette was a fabulous dish and a lovely break between the mains and dessert. Tomatoes and cherries, another thing I wouldn't have natively put together. The service was as close to perfect as I have experienced. The waiters were attentive without being cloying. My glass was never empty, my water was constantly being refilled and the courses were held just long enough to build anticipation without feeling like they were taking too long. I've read some reviews that opine that Oscillate Wildly is trying to hard. I think it's a kitchen run by an adventurous chef stretching the palates of his customers with fresh locally sourced product. If I had one tiny little teensy weensy criticism it would be that the wines are a little young, I believe the food would be better complemented by wine pairing with some maturity. I will definitely be back to see what the team can produce for a Winter Menu.

Am super sad to find out that they’ll be closing their doors soon! My friend and I were excited to finally try Oscillate Wildly and it completely exceeded our expectations! 10- course degustation were presented so beautifully. The serving sizes were just right for us and and we left the restaurant feeling very happy.

Great service and really amazing food. I probably wouldn't go the wine matching again, too confusing on the palate. I'd just pick a good bottle or 2 for all the courses.

Amazing food, pairing somewhat simple ingredients and turning them into complex flavourful dishes. Perfect wine pairings. Some of the best we've ever had, and could really see why those wines were paired with the dishes. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Ambiance was perfect with a great soundtrack in the background. Not what you might expect in an establishment of this calibre, but we loved it!!! We want to visit again already.
