Top position in the middle of the action and a pleasant space with fast service, seems good value too. The coffee might have been a little bitter but it was strong and rough and syrupy, how I like it. The croissant was a little chewy but very buttery and also huge, despite being pretty cheap.
Nice little cafe close to the Urban Hotel. Outdoor dining is a little loud, so I recommend sitting inside. It’s a bit of a wait for service and food but worth it for the prices ($).
I had poached eggs on toast with hash browns. Didn’t disappoint 💓 although sourdough is always super hard to eat toasted. Recommend.
I passed that place a million times but never stopped so during my day off I finally decided to stop by and try out the food. We ordered a big platter to share (see photo attached). The food was simple but really good, not pricey at all. They also serve alcohol which is a good thing too.
I will be back!

I was here yesterday for breakfast on my way to work , I ordered for a scrambled eggs with bacon on sourdough , the eggs were cooked perfect and the bacon nice n crispy , so was the sourdough toast , I also had a cafe latte which too was served to me at the right temperature and had great flavour.
Gonna be visiting here a lot more :)
Keep it up .
They have the perfect location for a chill sunny morning. The cafe is ok, quite similar to $1 coffee from 7 eleven. Their chocolate brownie is unexpectedly good.
**UPDATE REVIEW**
I come here so often to study! The newtown wifi is strong and always works. They also removed the 50c surcharge on card payments which is great! Coffee was also nice and strong last time I came. Fries were a little too oily for me. Staff still very friendly, good service.

Came here for a little 'second lunch'. Just had the toasted turkish bread with peanut butter and a cappuccino.
Would prefer unsweetened peanut butter but still good nonetheless. Coffee was quite weak and very cool (not hot, not that warm either). However, lots of thick foam which I do enjoy :)
Atmosphere was great, you could just sit there and watch Newtown go-ers go by. Also, lovely staff. Toilets are relatively clean.
No wifi at the cafe - you have to connect to the council wifi. Also, 50c surcharge on EFTPOS transactions under $10.
Will probably be back again :)
We eat here quite often, only breakfast and lunch though. We have always been very happy with the food, our fave is the sliders or eggs benedict. Haven't had a bad feed yet and the coffee is very good. It is also a great place to watch all the trendy bearded basketweavers that call Newtown home. They are good for a laugh if nothing else.
Definately recommend this place.
Sorry i had started eating before i took the photo.... it looked too good to wait 😀😃😄
Friends suggested this humble cafe as a place to meet for Saturday brunch and though I’ve passed by this place one zillion times, I’ve never stopped in. The outdoor tables are all filled so we grab a comfortable one inside, but not before James shows me the intriguing table and swing-out chairs in the back underneath the large flower plant wall arrangement: with Nepalese or Indian writing, perhaps something from a South Asian train station? A beautiful object, though uncomfortable seats, apparently.
Great, honest food that caters to a range of people's dietary requirements and preferences. The girls here do an amazing job running everything. Very impressed and can't wait to return.
Delicious. And a great place to people watch.
The burger is everything.
Coffee was spot on.
Friendly staff.
Highly recommended.
Love those dangling leaves.
