Review Rickys River Bar + Restaurant - Noosa

Dean Milliken
Absolutely loved it, my wife and I had a reservation for 2:30pm and ate 6 courses till 5:15pm, great view, good vibe and amazing food. Wine, cocktails, pre-meal snack, entree’s, mains, dessert and more drinks! THE BEST MEAL I’VE EVER HAD. Staff were so friendly and very informative on every dish and beverage we ordered so tip them well, they deserve it!

Great atmosphere and polite staff overall. The food was presented beautifully but of varying quality. The local white fish (barramundi) with braised leek was the standout and cooked to perfection. Our two entrees were the cured kingfish and Moreton Bay Bug, both quite delicious and well cooked. Would not recommend the duck ~ the meat was chewy, skin too salty and not crispy, and jus gras was lacking flavour and consistency. We finished with the passionfruit soufflé and the dark chocolate delice. The soufflé had a beautiful texture but with the white chocolate was very sweet. The delice was incredibly rich but the Davidson plum gave it a nice touch. We also had a couple of drinks which were ok but not outstanding. Overall, a nice experience and would recommend to try out for a nice dinner out if you’re happy to spend a little bit extra. The seafood was great but would warn against the duck and average drinks for the price.

What an amazing dining experience! The perfect end to our Noosa River private boat tour. Would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone, we will be back! Big thanks for the wonderful service and to your chefs for the delicious vegan options - endless apprection.

What a perfect way to spend a Saturday in Noosa 🥂 the sun ☀️ is shining nothing but blue skies and a French Rose in hand with some beautiful local farm to table produce, finished with a delicious signature passion fruit soufflé, that was most enjoyable. We started with quail and sweet corn 🌽 then we enjoyed the duck, the ricotta and zucchini gnudi a type of gnocchi and we opted for the signature main crab 🦀 spaghettini 🥰 All the food and service was on point 👌🏼our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in helping make our selection and all staff were attentive and hospitality throughout our lazy long lunch 🥂 Bon Appetite 🍽🍾🥂🥂🥂

We enjoyed a delicious meal at Ricky's. We were so full from our entree and main that we sadly couldn't fit in dessert. Dish in the photo was my main - Whole roasted Coral Coast baby barramundi, green goddess, braised Maravista farm purple onions. The two cocktails I had (pictured) were the sunset martini and the winter sunshine. I loved the sunset (with the cherry) The Cured kingfish, burnt orange, yuzu & white soy, radish was to die for! What a great dish to start off with! My partner also enjoyed the Honey glazed beef short rib, parsnip & macadamia skordalia, mustard pickled kohlrabi, horseradish And for his main he had - Pasture-fed eye fillet, kipfler potato, grilled cabbage, nori butter, red wine jus which was also a winner! Wonderful and attentive service whilst enjoying a delicious meal in a serene and picturesque location.

Incredible. Came here with my family 30/09 and the food and service was absolutely amazing. Staff were so friendly and the restaurant was beautiful. Definitely want to come back for my next visit. Thank you to the lovely staff member that recommended I got the Gnudi, you were so right, it was to die for!!! 😄😄

Worth every penny you spend from food to service. Nice view for a romantic sunset dinner, i specially recommend the duck breast, scallop and spanner crab spaghetti.

Incredible way to end the night. The scallops were amazing. I was super full after the main but still manage to make rooms for dessert. Amazing souffle. Manage to only took 1 photo (LOL)

Dined at Rickys as it was a special occasion. Have stayed in Noosa and have always wanted to try out places along the river. Set menu or a la carte available. <br/>🍽 All of the food was really delicious. I wasn’t too much of a fan of the bisque in the Moreton Bay bug, local white fish, squid & scallops, S.A. mussels, potato, fennel, bisque as it was just a very strong flavour. Probably just an individual preference. The eye fillet was absolutely amazing and cooked so well, so too for the crab spaghettini. <br/>💁‍♀️ service was faultless. No issues. Staff very professional and are happy to help with any queries.

Food was really disappointing. Both of our dishes were barely warm when they came out. The orecchiette pasta was very bland. Paid an extra $18 (in addition to the $35 original price) for shaved truffles on it, but they literally had zero flavour. The rocket pesto was also tasteless. <br/><br/>My husband had the lamb, which was also underwhelming.<br/><br/>Service was good.
Melbourne Foodie
Booked mostly for the location and views but as it was dark we didn’t get to see anything. It didn’t affect our visit as everything was perfect. <br/><br/>We had the short rib And the crab pasta for entree, both were delicious but the short rib was outstanding. Beautiful combination of flavours and perfectly cooked rib made it a dish to remember. <br/><br/>We then had the lamb 2 ways and the whole fish which was baby barramundi - wow the fish was amazing, again they packed so many wonderful flavours into the fish and it was cooked exactly how we like it. The lamb was also a winner. <br/><br/>Finished our night sharing a wonderful passionfruit soufflé which was again outstanding. <br/><br/>Well done Rickys, we will return when we are again in town, this time for lunch!
Bridget
Stunning location- recommend coming here early for dinner to enjoy the view. Large menu with lots of delicious items to choose from. Very helpful waiter who assisted with menu selection. Pricey but worth it. Would recommend for a special occasion!

Beautiful restaurant overlooking the river made magical by perfect weather and fabulous service. Beautiful menu with delicious seafood options. We had a special birthday celebration with our group of friends and had a wonderful lunch.

We had a lovely date night dinner here, with excellent food, wine and helpful but unobtrusive service. Worth the price for a special night out.

Perhaps we ordered the wrong things, quail, tuna entrees and duck, white fish mains, but we were pretty underwhelmed by the food. Considering the fine dining price point. Nice produce and well prepped/correctly cooked, but not much going on in the way of flavours. Service was just okay, we weren’t particularly engaged by the wait staff and no one said goodbye to us when we left. No one seemed to know much about their lovely wine list. Stunning views though.

Beautiful restaurant. Best eye fillet steak we’ve had. The mackerel was great too. Amazing service and lovely view. Make sure you try the chips :) - trust me. Can’t wait to go back!
Sam
Amazing scenery, beautiful food and great service!!! I came here with my partner and loved everything!!! so tasty and delicious. Would be back to try other things for she! Must get the bread, croquette and the stuffed olives!!

Ricky’s has a beautiful view, waterfront on Noosa River. The decor fits the surroundings beautifully, floor to ceiling glass inviting the outside in, you are surrounded by nature. It is beautiful by day, striking at sunset and extremely romantic by night, take your pick. <br/><br/>The food was by far the best I experienced in Noosa, it showcased the local produce very well. Definitely, worth the only date night, I got with my husband. <br/><br/>We ordered tapas style snacks for the entree: <br/>. Local Sea Scallop Tartare, Potato Crisp, Yuzu, Kosho, Avocado <br/>. Blue Swimmer Crab, Chilli Sauce, Macadamia Brioche <br/>. School Prawns, Black sesame & Bonito Chive Mayonnaise <br/>. Grilled Sheep's Milk Halloumi with Zucchini Piccalilli & Basil<br/>. Freshly Shucked Coffin Bay Oysters, Lemon, Grapefruit & Bush Pepper Vinaigrette. <br/><br/>Mains <br/>. Cape Grim Pasture Fed Eye Fillet, Confit Parsnips, Mushroom Purée, Parsnip Chips <br/>. Crispy Skinned Black Cobie complemented by Buttermilk Sauce, Charred Cucumber and Nutty Barley Grains. <br/><br/>Sides <br/>. Chips Chilli Salt Aioli <br/>. Noosa Red Tomatoes, Basil, Goats Curd <br/><br/>Desert <br/>. Dark Chocolate Parfait, Cherry Sorbet, Chocolate Mousse, Carmel Crisps <br/><br/>The waiter's first question after he took our order was are you from Melbourne? Yes, we are, I can tell. Yes this may seem too much for 2 people, the serving sizes were very generous and my buttons did need to be undone, however, I did not come to an institution just to try one dish. <br/><br/>The service was 10/10 friendly, professional and we did not have to ask for a single thing. Dining at its best and worth every cent. Your food was very memorable. <br/><br/>ᴍʏ 3 ᴋᴇʏ ᴘᴏɪɴᴛᴇʀs<br/>• Catch a ferry, if you are close to Hasting St. Makes the experience even more enjoyable.<br/>• They are kid friendly but who wants to eat and run at a place like this.<br/>• If you and your partner are not on the same page don’t stress they offer half bottles. Very good wine list.
Gee
Apparently this place is an institution up this way. On the river in a classy looking establishment, I had high hopes. Had a prawn dish for starter that had a chickpea purée and a couple of roasted chickpeas which worked really well. The prawns were delicious too. Good choice! Mains was a sirloin. Asked for medium and was advised by the surly blonde waitress that they cook it ‘either pink or cooked through.’ Not overly helpful but opted for pink and it was to my liking. Beautiful dinner with only the surly waitress a dampener on our evening.

A Noosa institution Rickys is positioned on the water with spectacular views. Service is professional and eager to please. The extensive wine list resembles something from top restaurants in Melbourne or Sydney and is put together very well. The food is lovely enough, but for the price you'd expect a bit better. The food is missing a bit of flair and excitement from the kitchen and is a little pedestrian for fine dining. Nevertheless a great venue.

We had a lunchtime wedding reception for 85 guests. The service, the food and the wine was absolutely first class. We are fussy foodies from Melbourne and couldn't fault it. Can't wait to go back for anniversary next year. <br/><br/>Thanks to the team there. Luke & Nicole

The only positive I can say about this place was the service we received from our waitress, other than that I can honestly say I would never eat at this place. Had to send two meals back due to how tough the steaks were and for the price you pay you would expect much better. The oysters were really tiny and they have the cheek to charge $4.50 a piece for them. This place is way overpriced and so not worth it.

Went here for lunch on a Sunday with a few couples (some with kids). It was great that they have the park adjacent to the restaurant with employee personnel to entertain the kids. The lunch, however, was a bit underwhelming. Menu was the same as the dinner menu I think? So no light mains and prices were that of a fancy dinner. The food was nice - we ordered a few entrees to share and most of us ordered the fish for lunch as the rest of the menu seemed a bit heavy (eg. Steak or lamb rump). And even the kids meals were dinner sized with dinner prices. This is a beautiful restaurant with lovely service and decent food but they really need a lunch menu. Most people aren't happy to pay dinner prices and have dinner sized plates for lunch.

Had dinner tonight and was very impressed with the views and layout of the restaurant. We ordered a mocktail which was light and fresh. For starters we had oysters which were big, fresh and delicious. For mains we had the spanner crab spaghetti with chilli oil and the grilled seafood with consommé which was perfectly cooked, I did think personally it was lacking a little depth of flavour and much preferred the spanner crab pasta dish. <br/>On a whole i we really enjoyed our meal and had a very nice waitress
Edibleflower1000
Holy moly! This place is divine, and what's even better is the view you get of the beautiful noosa river, who would want more? Had lunch here and was definitely impressed. The service was on point and attentive and the food was dam delicious. We started off with some entree/snacks which included the crumbed cheese stuffed olives which were my fave I am a fanatic when it comes to those salty little suckers. Along with the school of prawns and the cured meats. YUM YUM YUM! Main I had the grilled seafood mixture which was cooked beautifully and finally satisfied my long awaited craving for some deliciously fresh and well cooked seafood. The others had the swordfish which I had a nibble of and man o man it was Yummy, and also the beef cap which I was told tasted bloody good. After a delish main course we chose to have the berry Mille fueille (can't spell French) and the chocolate sorbet which were both out of this world in the flavour and taste department. Overall absolutely one of the best fine dining restaurants you will find in noosa if visiting. 👌🏼

Ricky’s and nearby Bistro C are hard to split in terms of foodie credentials. They both have water views (Ricky’s overlooks Noosa River and Bistro C has a view of Noosa Main Beach), they both serve up a premium yet relaxed dining experience and use the freshest of produce.<br/><br/>At Ricky's the husband and I shared a feast of Coffin Bay oysters, super delicate scallop ceviche, crispy fried school prawns, grilled haloumi (AMAZING!), spanner crab spaghettini, Slow cooked bangalow pork belly, an eye fillet steak and local grilled seafood. Reading that back, I just asked Jude whether we really ordered that much food for two people. Apparently we did. Clearly we thought we were never going to eat again.<br/><br/>Husband: “This haloumi tastes like a Bunnings’ sausage.” Which apparently is a compliment of the highest sorts.<br/><br/>It’s super easy to book a table online (we did it the previous day) and ended up scoring a spot overlooking the water, where we were able to watch on as the birds swooped down for their dinner of fresh fish. Ours was civilly placed in front of us, perfectly cooked and plated up.

If your in Noosa, you have to go! Only a 10 minute walk from the main drag and worth every minute. If you can get a seat by the water take it, so beautiful! Food is delicious and staff were lovely.

We came to Ricky's a few years ago for a wedding and were extremely happy and satisfied with our experience. We decided to go again 2 years later for a date night & were just as pleased! We had to wait a little for our order to be taken- though it was quite busy and this didn't bother us. The food was great, the service was great and the overall experience was lovely. Great for the seafood lovers! Not too many vegetarian options, but still able to find something on the menu.
The Notorious Masked Bandit
WOW what can I say, we came with high expectations and left with them fulfilled<br/>We came here two years prior for a wedding reception and the food was amazing, so when we knew we were coming to Noosa we couldn't wait to try Ricky's again!<br/>The meals sizes are how they should be, able to fit in a 3 course meal <br/>I started with the pork belly and it was mouth watering and the flavours continued to flow through my mouth with eye fillet Steak cooked perfectly to my liking<br/>I finished with chocolate sorbet desert witch was very well presented but was the down fall of the night, this due to me not really enjoying sorbet but I wanted to try<br/><br/>All in all the service was amazing, the food was great and wine list is longer than you can read <br/><br/>

I was searching for a lovely dining experience in Noosa with 2 requests, great seafood and a waterfront view. Ricky's surpassed exceptions on both points. I enjoyed the Coffin Bay Oysters Wood fired in shell, with lap cheong & "xo” sauce to start followed by the Coral coast barramundi, cauliflower & macadamia skordalia, preserved lemon, rhubarb & cous cous for main. The fish was cooked to perfection and the flavours of the dish were original and perfectly balanced. I couldn't go past the Coconut panna cotta, matcha, candied pineapple, black sesame ice cream & peanut crisp for dessert and had a taste of the Mandarin soufflé, sweetened crème fraiche, roasted white chocolate, mandarin curd dessert which was insanely good. One of the best fine dining experiences my family and I had experienced in a long time. I highly recommend this Noosa gem for an exquisite meal.

One of the best dining experiences I've had. The food ohh I still have dreams about it. Top quality! They push the boundaries and it has paid off!!

Absolutely loved Ricky's. Lovely staff, great venue. The food was fantastic. I had jamon to start with pork for mains and a Kalua coffee. Every bit was great. My missus Sandy had scallops with spaghetti crab and the best pud ever some caramel pop corn honeycomb thingy mmmmmmmm.<br/>A bottle of wine the bill was $195. Great value definitely come again. <br/>The scenery I reckon would be nicer during the day so we may do brekkie.<br/>

A perfect place to take that special someone whilst on holidays in Noosa. Much better than any restaurant on the main street. The decor is low-light, giving it a romantic atmosphere. Quite pricey but delicious, top quality meals, with only the best ingredients. Croquettes and chocolate dessert= highly recommended.

We were excited to get a booking at Rickys on our recent trip to Noosa. This restaurant came highly recommended. <br/>When we arrived for our 8pm booking, the place was quite full and we felt like the youngest there. Win!!<br/>The service was exceptional and our waitress did not miss a beat yet also let us be.<br/>We started with scallops and haloumi appetizers, pork entree, the duck and lamb for main (the lamb was phenomenal) and finished with the souffle and brulee for desert.<br/>All this with coffe and bottle of wine for approx $ 250. It was well worth the dining experience and would definitely return next time in town!!

Amazing service - our drinks were filled regularly and all of our questions were answered instantly. Amazing food - 10 out of 10. Definitely a favourite when visiting Noosa.

Simply delightful!. Such a delightful spot for an indulgent lunch. Everyone was satisfied with their meal, great sides and very informed service. Dish of the day was the Barramundi with clams and foraged coastal greens. Textures out of this world. Our compliments to the chef.

Disappointed. We were excited to go for Mother's Day lunch, however when we got there they had a set menu, which we didn't expect as they didn't tell us when we booked. Entree was tiny, some beetroot purée with a little cheese and crisps, main disappointing and dessert was tiny, costing $85 , no complimentary drink, we felt ripped off. Only good part was the view, very put off going again, we have been going there since the early days. If you are going to do a set menu and charge that amount , customers shouldn't leave hungry and food should be exceptional!

From beginning to end a most enjoyable experience. The evening began with what could only be describe as the best Negroni I ever tasted. From the deep fried olives to the sand crab pasta each mouthful was delicious and had me wanting more. Me and my partner though service was good particularly in the bar area. We will be back!
Mike B
Expensive but a great evening. A family of 4 and a bill of $700, which to be fair, included cocktails and a bottle of $180 red. A glorious view and some very fine food. The crab spaghettini was worth the visit. Slight chilli flavour, generous chunks of crab. My son ate the Wagyu Scotch fillet which while expensive, at a marbling of 9, was a lot cheaper than Rockpool. Appetiser of wood grilled prawn was a standout. Juicy, huge, and a subtle hint of wood smoke. Just lovely. <br/>Friendly, efficient service. <br/><br/>Much to recommend but, indeed, expensive.
GPS Joe
Fabulous Tasting menu. And fantastic service. A natural friendliness, made much easier by the wonderful work by the team in the kitchen. Easy to smile when the standards and consistency are so high. Started with a delicious oyster amuse bouche, followed by excellent spicy gazpacho, swimmer crab pasta, duck, and a souffle dessert with a magnificent range of flavours and textures. Wine choices were good too. Thanks for a memorable meal.

We drool at the thought of another meal at Ricky’s. This is fine-dining at it’s best, without even a hint of pretentiousness. Each and every dish impressed and the waterfront setting is pretty stunning too. It’s totes worth the money...
Amylee
Mixed thoughts on Ricky's.. The location and service is fabulous! I have been to Ricky's twice now, one year apart. Both times the starters have been very good but the mains have been average. Not sure it is worth the spend.
Hess Ghah
Starter bread was great, pork belly fantastic. Rest was below average. 3 of us that had steaks all did not finish as it was well undercooked and we couldn't eat it. Couldn't be bothered complaining and was already Over the place as I drank more than half a bottle of coke from them that had expired back in June 2013, yes that's more than 18 months expired which is an absolute disgrace for a fine dining restaurant however they didn't seem to be that much of a deal to them judging by the way they handled it. We were actually looking forward to visiting Ricky's based on reviews online however definitely won't be visiting again.
Rivhard Cave
Very disappointed for the money. Great location but food lets it down so can not class it as fine dinning by a long shot. <br/>Sorry management but you need to go that extra with customer satisfaction if you want to be a top restaurant
Cmason
Complacent .....very disappointing. Compared to some of the other premium restaurants in the area, the only words that can accurately describe Rickys is condescending and complacent. The food was fine, (if not unremarkable) but the table/ customer service was really very disappointing compared to the other premium priced restaurants in the area that we have experienced. <br/>The restaurant is beautifully positioned on the river. We'd booked 2 months beforehand and we were looking forward to sitting watching the last rays over the river as we'd booked early-ish. <br/>... ....from our table placement, (as a couple, we were placed between 2 large tables and in the main service corridor).the speed of service, (lightening speed at first,,,,,literally first course arrived after ordering with no wine presented to the table - the local surf club would be proud!), the lack of food presentation and description, (compared to local restaurants like Sails this was a Joke !!) .......the list goes on but the worst was the attitude of the restaurant leadership. (although it has to be said that one senior member of staff tried to mitigate our table placement issue and moved our table). <br/>We have coped with a lot of issues in restaurants over the years (as we all have) and haven't felt the need to write a review but what is clear is this restaurant is trading on it positions and past and is very, very complacent.
PoshNosher
We had our anniversary lunch here with another couple last Monday. The food was prepared well, presented well and delicious. However, the menu choice is very limited for a restaurant of this level. The portion sizes were reasonable but not generous. The service was good, although there were some long spaces between the courses. The wine list is expansive, albeit very pricey. <br/>Altogether a good lunch and we will not leave it so long to go back to this excellent restaurant.
Glyn
Very nice but limited menu. I can not not fault the meals other than the menu is very limited. the staff where the best I encounter in the Noosa area. The set up of the restaurant seating is also very comfortable and relaxing. a greal environment for romance.
Muzza
Great setting and outlook for lunch although the meals did not quite meet the expectations for the price - steak was a little sinewy as well. They did not even serve some bread with the meal which appeared odd to me. Wine list was nice with prices to match.
Spoogy
Had a lovely meal at Ricky's, seafood was well cooked (crab spaghettini = yum) and the mains were generous and flavoursome. Passionfruit soufflé was a highlight. Also extensive wine list.
Jjj
Our Special Night... Not. We made a reservation for our honeymoon. We were given a table by the entrance, by the cash register. The food was average and waiter's attitude, even less. Many better restaurants in Noosa for a compatible price.
Jesse Wood
Over priced so called fine dining not a good experience here
Simone Silberberg
Tapas were great. Vegetarian or gluten free options were limited when it came to the entrees & main courses. Slightly overpriced as the food is nothing special. Good quality but nothing outstanding
Carlsel
Over rated. I took my family to Ricky's for a Birthday celebration , thinking we would have a great time<br/>the service was very poor<br/>the food was nothing more than average café style food<br/>but wait , the price tag was of a fine style restaurant<br/>very disappointed <br/>will never go there again , and will not recommend it to anyone<br/>Carl.
Accuratereviewer
Nailed it. Rickys bar and restaurant has quietly surprised me.<br/>I expected the normal bar that has to have a restaurant for licensing purposes but it is so much more.<br/>The patrons, food and Bar all worked very well together and I would happily meet with friends or head in for a meal.<br/>Price is in the bounds of the area but could reasonable be higher based on the atmosphere. Happily the price is not higher but in this case you get more then what you pay for.<br/>The staff are not perfect but the location and spirit of the venue carry this.<br/>Well done.
DT
Top quality food and service with atmosphere to match<br/>A must go to restaurant while at Noosa
Tori L
Great Restaurant. Would definitely recommend Ricky's! Went there for dinner last night for the second time (visited last time we were in Noosa and also had a fantastic experience) and the service was great - very friendly wait staff, great food and fantastic cocktails. The wait on our drinks was a bit long at the start of the night, but other than that we had a lovely night. Would definitely go back!
Steve
The recommendations to visit Ricky's lived up to all expectations. Just a very pleasant experience. Very noosa!
Angelarea2000
Great restaurant. We enjoyed a lovely lunch at Ricky's Restaurant on Saturday. The setting on the Noosa River was wonderful, the food divine and the waiters well skilled in the art of service and conversation. A memorable experience for a special occasion.
Amy Piper
What a fabulous restaurant right on the river. From the start we felt welcome. The waiter was fantastic with my daughter putting her napkin over her face instead of on her lap. Pushing in her chair, a real dining experience for a seven year old. Don't get me wrong though Ricky's is not a children's restaurant and would be fabulous for a date sitting by the river with your love. We ordered the oysters to start topped with a lemon sorbet. Fantastic! For main my partner had the eye fillet, cooked to perfection with a great accompaniment. I had the lamb, I felt this dish was a little confused but this did not take away from the dining experience. Could not recommend Ricky's enough. Great food, wine and exceptional service.
Rebecca Kaye
Average. I would give this place a miss. Coming from Sydney I would expect far better quality food and service for the fine dining price tag. Although the food was ok, I was not at all blown away by what was on the menu (standard Mod Aus - nothing notably different or exciting) and presentation of the food itself was random. I get the impression it's a bit of a 'churn and burn' establishment getting tourists in for the great view.<br/><br/>We had cocktails before dinner which were pretty poorly presented for $16 a pop. Then ordered wine which didn't arrive until after our starter had arrived (and a reminder as to what wine we'd actually ordered). I started with prawns which were in a very oily tomato sauce - too much oil for my liking. For main I had fillet of beef which was tasty although a small serving for the price. We ordered a side of brocolini with a sundried tomato butter which was not melted as the vegetables were so cold. We decided not to order dessert to avoid any further disappointment.
Brumich
Review Ricky's. Waiter service excellent. <br/>Vegetables came out before entree. Obvious confusion in kitchen<br/>Orderd a rare steak came out medium and tough. Could not eat<br/>Soufflé was a poor meringue. A bowl of sugar and no flavour. For the price value not there. Unfortunately did not live up to its reputation
Dan Ingham
Nice setting and view but average food and service for fine dining prices.
Ybibit
Really good service. We do not often tip in Australia even in fine dining restaurants, however we felt Ricky's had such excellent customer service both before and during the meal that we had to leave a tip. Staff tried to accommodate my table time request by contacting me on the day to let me know I could have a table at the earlier time I wanted (rather than my booked time): most restaurants wouldn't bother unless you rang and they had already a table open up at the time of your call. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the dishes/wine, made pleasant conversation, noticed when water glasses were low etc etc. <br/>While the food was slightly better at the other similarly priced restaurant in Noosa Heads that we tried, the fantastic customer service and decent food here left us happy and we would be return customers.
Ruth.george1
Fantastic food. This the best restaurant in Noosa area.<br/>The service is second to none ---- and the food is beyond comparison - it is superb.<br/>You will pay top dollar but at this establishment you will have spent your money well.
Berto
We went to their brother restaurant woodfire bar & grill. Good service, really nice barman (except he assumed we wanted main size rather than entree without clarifying & subsequently I could not finish mine. I was chraged for a main) prawns were excellent. Would stick to grill menu items.
Rev
Very, Very good. One of the best dining experience (and meals) I've ever had.
Lucy
Best restaurant in Noosa. Food is incredibly good and the setting in unbelievable: especially watching the sun set over the water. It does not get better than Rickys.
Julie Thompson
Visited Wood Fire Grill last night. Had the porchetta- absolutely delicious. Found staff really friendly and attentive. Would definitely return
Chatty
Ricky's is a bit pricey but well worth it. Superb service and superb food - highly recommended
Michael
We found Ricky's to be overpriced. We decided to share a prawn entree, the entree was $30 (which included a public holiday surcharge) but it only had 4 prawns. Our main of snapper was dull. The lamb rack was nice but completely overpriced. Coming from Melbourne you expect a lot when paying these sorts of prices. Good wine list though and a nice setting but that doesn't justify the price tag
DaniGee
My partner booked this for my birthday dinner and they gave us probably the best table in the restaurant so that was lovely. The waiter was very laid back enough to stand in front of us with arms crossed and looking elsewhere (quite rude) and wasn't very experienced in his position. The mains were fantastic; duck and the lamb, and the shared choc fondant dessert was really good. Although there was only 6 of us in total left in the restaurant they couldn't manage to deliver the coffees with the dessert per our request. That was rather disappointing. <br/>Even though the food was very good, the price of $40 for a main meal seems to allow haphazard service so that won't bring us back.
Andrew Pitman
Attentive and amusing staff laid the basis for a great and memorable night. The lamb was cooked to perfection and the duck confit was delicious. The gingerbread Ice cream and soufflé did not fail and were equally as memorable as the main course dishes.
Samquatro
Satisfied and Disappointed. Foods good, venue superb, decor works well. Service is always good. However, on our last visit - we were given a table as far away from the heart of the restaurant as possible. Why? Didn't make sense . There were plently of empty tables in the heart of the restaurant. They forgot one of our dessert dishes and by the time it arrived we were leaving. <br/>Sometimes feel that Ricky's can be a bit pretentious and that they aren't consistent in how you are welcomed and subsequently treated. We are locals and go to Rickys on a somewhat regular basis, there is no doubt that our faces and certainly our credit cards are familiar. We will go back, but its disappointing.
Mark Goldberg
Fabulous garlic prawns sensational baby rainbow trout and scrumptious Montrachet service needed a little improvement then top shelf
Amy
I just came back to my hotel after having one of the most amazing dining experiences I have ever had! From the moment we arrived we were well looked after by the staff, which continued throughout the whole night. The food was absolutely delicious and presented beautifully. The food was priced very well for the type of meal we received. I have to make special mention of the tasting plate, it had everything on the desert menu and wasn't pathetic little pieces, they were really good portions. I would highly recommend you go to Ricky's whilst in Noosa, as you won't leave disappointed.
Heather Bailey
Simply the best!. A multi-generational group of us gathered for an 80th birthday luncheon - each and every one of us was well versed in dining out. So to reach unanimous acclaim that this was our best restaurant experience EVER speaks volumes. The location is brilliant, the menu inspired, every course faultless (and we sampled many!), Our special occasion was enhanced by the extraordinary personality and professionalism of Timothy who not only looked after us superbly but was a welcome addition to what will be a treasured memory.

Such a friendly service and awesome food! The waiters helped us feel comfortable dining with young kids. <br/>Loved everything about this place. <br/>Will definately visit again when we r in Noosa.

Perfect spot for a late lunch. Combination you can't beat, opens from lunch all the way through for dinner. We arrived mid afternoon & made the most of the amazing river views through until sunset. We enjoyed the spot so much we returned everyday for a sunset drink. Typical Noosa to have the public Noosa river ferry spot almost in the middle of the restaurant. Fish of the day was awesomely cooked and my fellow diner enjoyed the rabbit pasta. A must visit when in Noosa. High level of attention to service, friendly and with a smile.

We love This restaurant. We holiday in Noosa every year and the highlight is our annual long lunch at Ricky's. Paul looks after us like family. The food, service and ambience is wonderful. Can't recommend it too highly.

Delicious with Excellent Service. One of the best restaurants we have eaten at, and i am very fussy. So glad I picked this one over any of the other contenders in Noosa. Visiting from Perth and we were very impressed. Waiters were very attentive and excellent with our two kids - 4 and 18 months. Food was delicious and fresh, wait was minimal and to top it off great view and atmosphere. All this and walking distance to our accommodation. Thanks Ricky's for a great night!

My partner and I just had the most delicious meal at Ricky's Restaurant, prompting me to create a profile and this review. The location was gorgeous and the service was excellent; a great mix of friendly and attentive. The baguette was fresh to start, the scallop tapas tiny but delicious and the prawn entree wonderful. I was almost put off by the reservation time (8:30) and the few bad reviews on this site, but we are so glad that we gave this restaurant a chance. Highly recommended.

Winner. Amazing views, great service and even better food! Architecture and interior decor is minimalist but very well done. Place has a great feel. Waiters were always there when we wanted them. Worth every cent!

Karen. 4 of us dined, and we all agreed, best food and service we have ever had.!! We spent 5 hours there and loved every minute of it. Staff were very attentive without hovering and really knew their stuff when it came to the menu and the wine. Can't wait to go back.<br/>Bretts Wharf in Brisbane could take a few lessons from these guys.

Delicous. We had an amzing meal here last week. We ordered entree and mains for 6 people and everyone agreed all the dishes were superb. The prawn entree was to die for.

Outstanding food, impecable service, expensive but worth every penny! Went there for a friends birthday with a table of 10 and not a glitch to be had food all came out on time at the same time from entree to dessert. Thanks Ricky's!

Absolutely loved it. We went to the Noosa Food and Wine Festival this year, and boy did we have a good time.<br/>But one of our highlights for the week (we stayed beyond the festival weekend) was Rickys River Bar.<br/>The food was fabulous, and very flavoursome! (Try the double baked souffle (dessert) if its still on the menu.<br/>What made Rickys was also its staff. very friendly, knowledgeable, chatty but not intrusive. <br/><br/>Their cheese board was excellent value, on a couple of nights (as our accommodation was in the same complex) we would stop by Rickys from an evening out and stop for a cheesboard and wine night cap. Its a must

Rickys is outstanding. Each meal we have had has been an exciting experience. Food always has an interesting twist and is always a highlight of our holiday to Noosa.

Great restaurant. Scallops were a highlight. The food isn't amazingly innovative but it is done well with good service. Location on the river is great. Probably a better spot for a boost lunch than dinner.

What wonderful staff. I have dined lunch and dinner. Lunch has nicer views, you can look out over the water. Nice atmosphere day and night. Meals are lovely.

Good if derivative food but fumbling service; after the fifth time it becomes tiresome telling the floor staff what they've missed. Made a booking via email & confirmed by telephone from interstate, but the booking wasn't entered, so shuffling ensued without too much fuss to accommodate us. Tapas for entre was well flavoured, especially the bresaola, but mains bland and unimaginative & the very Queensland way of charging you for bread rankles when you're not used to it. Setting is lovely but food & service don't really do it justice.

Grace. Noosa local - I always recomend Rickys. <br/>This IS Noosa food at its best

The new chef is just amazing. His signature scallops with taramasalata are the best I have ever eaten. Do tapas for lunch and make sure you take your time. A view to die for and awesome staff!!

Excellent food & service!!! A relaxed yet sophisticated dining experience that is a must when visiting Noosa. Forget the complacency of the Hastings Street restaurants...if it's great food you're after, head straight to Ricky's. The Pork Belly on the tapas menu is a winner as was the special of Duck Spring Rolls. As entrée or main course, the truffle risiotto with scallops was sensational. And for dessert I had to have the tasting plate as I couldn't decide...they were all amazing!!! My favourite was the Passionfruit Soufflé!

As a local I have to say this is the best and my favourite restaurant in town.

If you’re considering dining at Rickys then chances are you have a special occasion in mind. If you don’t, then find one – because Rickys is an iconic Sunshine Coast restaurant that’s very worthy of a celebratory meal. Regardless of the occasion consider arriving in style. Sadly I didn’t realise in advance that Rickys has its own jetty. The Noosa Ferry ( noosaferry.com ) and Noosa Water Taxi ( noosawatertaxi.com ) both offer a glamorous way to arrive at the door. I arrived in a very ordinary taxi and regretted not having done more research. Arriving for an early dinner I experienced Rickys by day and by night. The interior lends itself to both really well. By day the white tables and chairs combined with the water views create a relaxed beachy ‘lets sit here all day’ atmosphere. By night mood lighting kicks in and it feels more intimate and elegant. After being shown to our table on the deck (one of the few outdoors) we spent a little while deliberating over the seasonal summer menu. T

The roasted duck breast with duck rillette, duck liver parfait, fresh garden peas, parsnip, candied cumquat and tendril was the prettiest dish of the night and another of my favourites. The candied cumquat provided a nice foil to the rich parfait and gamey duck breast and the fresh peas some colour and freshness.

We were seated next to the windows with enough view to look at the river. We decided on 3 tapas rather than an entree each.

When I told people I was going to Noosa, everyone and I literally mean everyone who had been told me we had to try Ricky’s.
