Wow this place is amazing. I have been here 2 times and have had the set menu both times. I love the quality of the food and the presentation. The flavours and quality of service as well is exceptional. Everyone needs to come here one of the best restaurants in Perth.

This was our 28th wedding anniversary and I could not fault a thing!! Food was sublime which was complimented with a lovely bottle of voyager. The staff were friendly, polite and attentive. This is our new fav go to restaurant. From the kitchen to the waitstaff, thank you for a lovely dining experience.

Had dinner with my wife for our anniversary.  Second time we have been in recent times and both times fantastic. we ordered degustation without wine and added an extra dish to make it 7 courses. for $120 each. every dish was amazing both in presentation and taste. Service is fantastic, friendly and attentive. atmosphere is quiet and relaxed. 

Will definitely be back again to try some of the al la carte options as seing those come out they also looked amazing and sometimes too good to eat. Loved it.

Clarke's of North Beach is not cheap. But 'value-for-money' it is outstanding. 

I took a party of eight to Clarke's last night to say thank you to our directors for their volunteer services to cancer support. From the moment we arrived, it was delightful. The head team leader, whose name I do not know (from Naples), ensured everything went smoothly. Wine suggestions, food combinations; he knew it all. A young lady from Brazil had the task of looking after our table. Again, superb. Friendly, professional, knowledgable and warm. Top class.

Now the food. The Quail as an entree was simply magnificent, as was the duck as the main course. Tender, sweet, and beautifully presented. Others ordered the pork belly and rankin cod fish. All dishes were artistically presented by Chef Stephen Clarke, and tasted amazing. Stephen Clarke, apart from being a wonderful ambassador for the industry - and who also does so much charity work - is one of Australia's top chefs. And it shows!

The wines were very good. We would have liked to have seen one or two French reds available but the Italian wine we had was lovely.

It was a busy evening, but there was not the slightest hint of stress or problems. Everything was seamless. A beautiful experience and an evening that left all of us delighted.

One of the finest degustations I've had the pleasure of consuming. Delicate flavours and good portions, you can't go wrong. The only improvement is perhaps some creamy dreamy chocolatey goodness for the dessert. The rhubarb compote was delicious but a little tart to finish on.
Will most definitely be back.

Make no mistake Clarkes is absolutely delicious, service is faultless, the downside however is the cost. The meal doesn’t come cheap.

At over $240 for 2 of us (2 drinks each and 3 courses) it was expensive and the serves are small. Very small. We didn’t order sides as felt $10 for broccolini and some almonds or some chips was just too much.

The lamb came with one lamb chop and a mini casserole for $43.

While we do enjoy going here, the cost stops us going back regularly. Shame.

The food at Clarkes is amazing. We have dined at Clarkes several times and it never disappoints. Each course always tastes great and is beautifully presented. The younger waitress is lovely (Jazz?). However when we dined there most recently, there was a middle aged grump dishing up the food who didn't have half the charisma he thought and made some rather inapproriate comments that fell very flat. Decor is a bit dated, but when the food is as good as what Clarkes can offer who honestly cares!

Small intimate dining experience in North Beach, hidden in the back streets. You will need to book in advance for this one, and the food is worth it! The service is a little slow considering how limited the space is for customers. We had the duck breast, pork belly and a side of Broccolini, everything was delicious, the duck was slightly over cooked but it didn’t damper the experience.

A disappointing end to a nice dinner.

We chose the 6 course degustation, with wine for me. The restaurant was quite busy on a Saturday night but most tables were couples also eating the degustation menu. Service started with a lovely champagne with a description of how it would complement the first course of kingfish - quite a strong tasting fish. Next was olive oil poached salmon - delightful!

The best savory course was the sweet and sour pork belly, so tender and delicious with crackling. After this course was finished we waited. And waited. And waited. 20 minutes became 30 and then after 40 minutes we asked the server how much longer the next course would be, we had now been at the restaurant over 2 hours. She abruptly told us that degustations take that long, but we were only half way through!

After this the service became efficient to the point of rudeness. No more descriptions of the wines, just plates taken and the desserts delivered one after the other. The bill was then brought without us asking for it and we were literally shown the door - it was opened for us and we were ushered out to the street!!

Such a disappointing end to what should have been a lovely dinner. Probably won't be back, the food is great but be prepared for a long evening.

We tried this place to celebrate a couple of birthdays. We decided to have the 6 course degustation for $100 per person. The food was good, however, the starter portions seemed quite tiny. Degustation portions are usually fairly small but these portions seemed even tinier than others, could've finished it in two bites.

A few of us had a Hendricks Gin & Tonic. We were not expecting a G&T to be over $20 each! Usually they're $8-10. It does not require any skill to make like cocktails, so if it was a cocktail then yes we would expect to pay $20, but not a G&T. Weren't too impressed with that.

The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was nice and intimate.

Fantastic. Very intimate. Perfect place for a romantic dinner or to celebrate a special occasion. Service was great. We shared three entree- the scallops, pork belly and the salmon. For mains we had duck and lamb. And for dessert we had an apple slice and a chocolate cake. Oh my god. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly

I really enjoyed this place. It had a fine dining atmosphere and quite a nice ambience. We opted for the 6 course degustation for $100 pp. The best courses of the night were the salmon- (perfectly cooked!), salt & vinegar macaron and dessert course. The bread was amazing with the butter!

I started to read reviews that had me second guess my booking at Clarke's. This was until we walked through the door and discovered the small but intimate seating arrangements.

The tables didn't feel as if they were too close. They had used their space well.

Our waitress was attentive, unobtrusive and friendly. A delight.

We went in thinking we would have the degustation but soon decided to choose from the a la carte. The only reason being that most of the degustation menu seemed to be choices from the entree menu and the options seemed to be quite heavy.

This decision was not a mistake nor do I believe the degustation would be either! The moment the entrees were placed in front of us we were both amazed at the presentation.

The scallops were presented beautifully in a way that reminded me somewhat of when you walk along a reef on low tide and find the oceans hidden treasures. They were cooked to perfection with all the flavours complimenting each other.

The mushrooms on brioche with pepper ice cream was that of a secret garden arrangement. Full bodied flavours, the perfect balance between saccharine and savoury.

Duck and beetroot main- the plating was jewel like, and one bite revealed precious flavours also. The beetroot was rich but worked very well with the succulent duck breast, which was cooked perfectly.

Grass fed sirloin, Wagyu brisket main- carefully constructed made it hard for me to destroy, however that was short lived. From the first mouthful it was like a flavour explosion! It soon had my main disappear before my eyes.

Dessert was unlike any we had experienced before. Definitely one for those who love blue cheese. Even so, the flavours worked
well together and the other elements on the dish were delicious and stars in their own right.

Pleased to get a last minute booking, we didn't actually know what to expect! Nice atmosphere, sophisticated but friendly. Not a huge menu selection so definitely check out the menu beforehand if you're fussy. Serving sizes aren't massive but if you're having 3 or more courses you don't need more! Really interesting flavour fusions which the waitstaff helpfully explained! Wouldn't rush back but an enjoyable experience overall.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here and had an absolutely fabulous time. The food was wonderful but what makes this place extra special is the service. We had the degustation menu on a Saturday night with the matching wines and the sommelier Martin was great spot on with the pairings. I could nit pick a few things but to me, if I leave a restaurant thinking I would be mates with the people looking after me in an alternate universe then the staff have done their job. Two thumbs up! 👍🏻👍🏻

This place was such a hit and miss. There were so many short comings and niggles that ruined what could have been a nice night out. I'll start by saying 90% of the food in my photos was well received and tasted great. Dessert was a flop. Lemon tart didn't taste anything like you'd expect and was quickly pushed aside. Service wasn't there for a place of this caliber. San pellegrino in a plastic bottle, champagne that wasn't being topped up as the glasses evaporated. At one point I actually got up to get the bottle myself to refill everyone's glasses. The hollandaise for the steak tasted like lemon curd and the jus was slightly metallic tasting and came in a shot glass for a 600grams steak. While the mains were your standard well matched affairs that work well, the entrees seemed like a chefs experiment. Sautéed mushrooms with pepper icecream...... chicken breast with peach...... salmon with coconut..... We won't be back here even though most of the food was amazing. It's the many little discrepancies that put us off

We had the al a carte menu this time. We ordered a couple of entrees which were the sautéed mushrooms with brioche and honeycomb; and the skull island prawns, seared scallops and Kalamunda stone fruits. Absolutely loved the two! Only bad thing to say was there wasn't enough of those scallops!

For mains we ordered the Wagin duck breast, confit duck leg, heirloom beetroot, cocoa nib and beetroot jus; the roasted arkady lamb riblet, pan seared loin, pumpkin, peas, sprouts and beans; the goldband snapper, beurre blanc, fennel and cucumber. The sapper was cooked deliciously. The beurre blanc was so creamy it matched well with the snapper. The cocoa nib that came with the duck was surprisingly tasty and matched well with he duck also. The lamb was ok. Could be better.

For dessert we had the warm chestnut cake spiced fruits and honey and ginger ice cream; and the rhubarb, custard panna cotta and rhubarb consumme. I enjoyed both desserts. I enjoyed the slight sourness of the sorbet with the panna cotta.

Will come back to try their degustation menu for sure!

Returned to Clarke's tonight again. Yes it is a special occasion restaurant and prices reflect that, as they do the attention to detail in each course and in the personalisation if you need it. Degustation did not disappoint. Lovely courses, we did add 2 of the optional extras, and they were well worth it. Our individual food tastes were catered too within each course willingly and confidently. Service was friendly and informative. Thanks for another lovely meal in many years, we will continue to refer and recommend to all. ❤❤❤

Clarke’s of North Beach presents a soft warm ambience to enjoy the fine dining experience on offer. I opted for the 6 course degustation which started with an amuse bouche of a delicious crunchy mushroom croquette finished off with a sandalwood smoke. The very lightly marinated swordfish presented delicate flavours paired with the char from the octopus. Sous vide chicken was the next dish to arrive which presents a very different texture to what one is used to, but the tender succulent breast is delicious with the crisp skin attached. The deep fried skin is too intense and leaves a burnt taste in the mouth which detracts from the dish. However, the sweetcorn veloutte is brilliant and so delicious, perfect for winter. Lamb backstrap was the hero of the next course, also sous vide, succulent, tender, and the lamb flavour is a little more intensified than usual which is excellent. There’s plenty of flavoursome jus to tip over and enjoy and the parsley sponge helps to mop up the jus that you can’t get onto the cutlery. The coffee crumb and beets help balance the meaty flavour and the fatty flavours from the lamb riblet are excellent. Pre-dessert presented a tonka bean pudding which is small in stature but very rich with the sticky golden syrup. However, the vanilla anglaise is a wonderful addition and partners perfectly to offset the richness and make this into a very satisfying dish. The last course presents rhubarb compote which has a touch of sweetness and acidity to contrast against the very creamy panna cotta. The rhubarb sorbet also cuts through the richness and is refreshing to the palette. A finely crafted and well thought out menu with elements that compliment each other and deliver a wonderful dining experience.

This is the second time my partner and I have been here for a degustation, and the second time we have been underwhelmed. It was by no means bad or unpleasant. In fact we had a lovely night and enjoyed our food! Unfortunately though, this restaurant does not deliver on...

My beautiful best friend took me here this year to celebrate my birthday and I definitely felt spoilt! The degustation menu here costs $100 per person however you have the option of adding on addition dishes for a few extra costs if you wanted to. Of course my best friend decided to splurge and so we had 7 courses instead of the usual 5 (so it became $140 per person instead). The food was delicious and comparable to Petite Mort whereby it was simple dishes without any ‘daring’ or ‘adventurous’ elements to the dish. My favourite was surprise surprise the pork belly dish. I also really enjoyed the crab, kingfish with celery sorbet dish. It is interesting to note that the 2 dishes I liked the most were the ‘additional dishes’. So if we did not opt for it, I wonder if I would have enjoyed myself as much.  Overall a lovely experience and I would return. The service was great and the food was well presented. Again this restaurant was in the Entertainment Book with a 25% off total bill voucher.

The waiter did not explain what is the dishes at the beginning. After 2 dishes, they start to explain to use. Not sure why.

We had an excellent night here. Our waiter was very welcoming and helpful. He made sure that we were comfortable and had good attention to detail.

Although originally intending to do the degustation, certain members of our party decided that they would enjoy a la carte more, which we were able to change to despite originally booking in for the degustation menu. Our change was welcomed and at no point did were we made to feel like it was an inconvenience. We enjoyed dishes off the a la carte menu. Wonderful flavours.. And all the dishes were plated so well!

I will be back to have the degustation next time.

Came here to try the degustation after it was recommended by some friends. We tried the traditional 6 menu course. They have an option to add on additional courses for $20 each which is very reasonable. To start with we were served a 'fish and chips' amuse bouche. It was savoury and had hints that reminded me of salt and vinegar chips, it was Light and rich. Next, a gorgeous piece of salmon rolled in herbs with some fresh thinly sliced cucumber, micro herbs and a fresh zingy vinegarette, it was tasty and delicious.to follow, a slice of chicken breast with charred corn and a cream sauce. This was nice and reminded me of chicken and sweet corn soup, the chicken however was slightly dry. After, we had a piece of sous vide eye fillet of beef from the southern region with a rich delicate sauce and an intense slice of mushroom. This was my favourite dish, it was delicious! Next, the first of the dessert courses, we were served a berry cheesecake deconstructed. It was light, fruity and absolutely yummy! Thereafter we finished off with a light sweet sorbet and chocolate mousse. Overall, it was wonderful, the serve was great, food was great and will definitely come back! Highly recommended!!!

One of our favourite restaurants used to be Jacksons in Mt Lawley, the main attraction being the degustation dinner, truly a memorable experience each time we had it, which was pretty often, so 'twas a sad day when it closed it's doors.Enter Clarkes of North Beach, we've been a few times now, and each time we have walked away with massive smiles on our dials, the food is great, with the servings being on the larger size (for a degustation), and at $100 is great value for money.We lashed out and had the extra dishes, the swimmer crab was fantastic, however, to be honest, the pork belly I felt was a bit of a let down, only in the fact that for me I love to have the skin done almost as a crackling.At first hearing that the desert was cucumber based, we were somewhat amused, but OMG, it was amazing and had us almost licking the plate, it all worked so well.It's a pity that we dined on a school night as the wines that were coming out looked great, but rules is rules.We have to make comment on the waiter, Chris, who as fate would have it also used to serve us at Jacksons, his knowledge and passion for the food are second to none, we could have spent hours talking with him (ask him about his travel adventures :) ).All up a fantastic evening and one that will have us coming back again, and hopefully sooner than later.Gary

My Husband and I dined there last night for the first time. We herd about the restaurant from friends before and all very good reports. The restaurant is intimate and welcoming. The food was exceptionally presented and service was great. If you eat with your eyes, as well as your taste buds, than this is the place to go. There was only a couple of things which i cannot score this restaurant top marks. The Menu is written on grey paper covered in shiny plastic. Intimate light don't allow for this to be read without revering to our mobile phones for the spotlights. Now, the people next to our table had to do this, so we are not the only ones. Staff must have seen this often, please change the colour of the menu. My husband's food was out of this world, both entree and main and so was my pork belly entree. Unfortunately my main, which was pan fried duck breast, too chewy. I had to labor to chew my bites, in the end just swallowed it. Tarnished my experience. I watched a man who set next to our table with his companion, he ordered the duck breast as well, he chewed and chewed too. Beautiful food, great presentation, unfortunate experience with the duck.

OMG!!! Just wow! We dined here tonight with another couple and it was just awesome. They had been before and introduced us to this place and I can't believe we've never been until now. The food was exquisite! Across the table we tried a range of entrees from pork belly to quail to scallops and all were exceptional. Mains we tried fish to beef fillet with beef cheek, beef rib and duck. Everyone loved their meals and the waiters matched the wines perfectly to what we were eating. Great service, awesome food, I'm coming back every month at least!, if I can!! Cannot say enough positive things about this place!

Degustation menu, wow. Art meets food, great wine list. Leave your financial planner at home and spend up big. One of Perth's premier restaurants. You'll be going back once the credit card is paid down :-) but its worth every penny.

Came here for the degustation and it was a lovely meal from start to finish, Service was great. But was it mind blowing? No. 

Classic combos of pork and apple, scallops and bacon, chocolate and passionfruit etc. Couldn't fault it but felt like I had eaten it all before and wasn't really a memorable meal.

Came here on a weekend for my boyfriends birthday. They only do degustations on weekends and they also allow you to add extra on top of their main menu hence we added both the scallops and pork belly. The food was very delicious and I enjoyed the dessert the most. Service was great.

Took my parents here on a saturday night - we enjoyed the dehydration with wine pairings. The sommelier was amazing - he gave us a choice of wines based on our preferences and gave recommendations, very impressive. The food is amazing - modest portion size but the flavours are amazing. A great restaurant for a special occasion. Great location too - easy parking.

Had been on the list a while and finally made it there. Was not disappointed. Great portion sizes meant you didn't feel ill at the end. Even better was they were more than happy to top you up on the matched wines! Get a taxi and try a weeknight. End with a stroll on the beach which is paces away.

Clarke's of Noth Beach has to be the best BYO venue in Perth. Gorgeous staff and stunning, well designed menu made for an amazing night out at Clarke's. The amuse bouche of Cauliflower veloute with freshly shaved truffle started the night off with a bang, but i couldn't go past the Smoked duck breast as my favourite dish. Cannot wait to head back for another beautiful meal.

Went for the degustation menu on a Saturday night and have to say that I could find no faults with food or service. The manager and all staff were on the ball with great service and just the right amount of attention and the food was so good and for $100 is quite reasonable for the quality and effort to produce each course. Only issue is the degustation menu changes so infrequent but as soon as it does we will be going back. Best fine dining in Perth

World Class And One Of My Favourite Restaurants In Perth!. It was my girlfriend's birthday and with all the good reports from friends and family, I couldn't resist making a booking and celebrating the night in style. I'll rarely book a new restaurant for such a special occasion and almost exclusively rely on regular haunts that have delivered time and time again.

The Sunday drive car came out the garage for the night and it was paired with a dress shirt, pants and mirror finish shined shoes to look the part and it was a nice cruise up the coast as the sun was setting along Scarborough beach. As we sided up to the kerb, we'd almost driven past as the restaurant the premises almost blend in with the surrounds and where it's situated you wouldn't expect such a fine establishment, that is a real gem of the Perth fine dining scene.

As always I'm starving by the time we set foot in the foyer and are ushered to our seat quick smart, much to my pleasure and perused the menu. I quite like heading out for a meal in the middle of the week, in that sometimes you get more options than regularly available at a restaurant of this calibre in that on the weekends it's the degustation menu only but during the week we had a choice from the å la carté menu.

For entreé we had Glacier 51 Toothfish with Moreton Bay Bug, Goats Cheese Gnocchi with Foraged Winter Mushrooms and Linley Valley Pork Belly with Apple Textures and Pork Crackle Dust. Both dishes met every expectation with the Toothfish and Moreton Bay Bug cooked to perfection and served with a creamy risotto. I usually avoid rice at all costs, as I think it's just a filler and uninteresting but this was beautiful and I scooped up every minute amount of sauce in an attempt to savour the experience. The pork belly was superb as well and I loved the choice of apple flavoured preparations, each bringing a different texture and sensation in the mouth and the icing on the cake was the pork skin crackle, which exploded in my mouth. The gnocchi was amazing as were coming to expect and the delicate pillows were a delight with every bite and complimented by the mushrooms and goats cheese which can be hit and miss with me with it sometimes smelling like a sheep truck but this was refined and subtle and a great combination.

For mains we had Margaret River Rump Cap with falling apart, melt in the mouth, grain fed Beef Short Rib and Beef Cheeks served with jus and Pan Roasted Duck Breast with Confit Leg and Foie Gras Espuma. Again these did not disappoint and every dish was crafted with supreme expertise and was so well balanced. The beef, beef and more beef and the duck, duck, goose combination was a great way to show off the chefs talents and for the guest to experience the pleasures of all the different flavours and textures with variations in richness but all complimenting of each other and every ingredient on the plate had a role to enhance that of other flavours. The crunchy hand cut chips with Béarnaise was an exceptional side dish to boot and it's always the simple things done flawlessly that is another measure of a good restaurant.

I'll always harp on about how I'm not much of a fan of eating dessert and me and chocolate or caffeine for this matter don't generally go together but when I'm in a fine dining restaurant of this league, I'll search to sample what they have on offer, even if the dish contains chocolate and such is the popularity of chocolate, it'll always feature on menus. For dessert we had Chocolate Mousse and Caramel Macaroon with Popping Candy and a Chocolate and Caramel Parfait with secret passionfruit centre, a fudge brownie, raspberry roll up, meringue and a salted caramel macaroon. I don't think there are too many times that I've been to a restaurant that I can say that every dish has been perfect but the evening was incredible and to top it off the dessert was truly special. I actually am a fan of dessert itself but am shy when it comes to actually putting spoon to mouth and will prioritise more mains in favour of dessert but these two dishes have made me more aware of the pleasures of enjoying dessert. The mousse was silky smooth and the macaroon just beautiful and the popping candy a real sensation not to mention the other dessert with all it's finely tuned, wonderful components that is a fantasy journey on a plate.

If I could give this place an 11 out of 10 for the overall experience with food and service, I most certainly would and since dining there, we've recommended it ad infinitum to friends when they ask the one establishment, I'd point them in the direction of Clarke's is my place of choice.

Good food and fantastic service. Dined here with a group. We had the degustation menu with wine pairing. The pork belly was amazing, and the barramundi was delicious. Food was well presented. I found the rack of lamb and shoulder a bit too heavy, didn't enjoy it that much. Rhubarb dessert outstanding. Wine was excellent. Our waiter/sommelier was fantastic. Great service. I would come here again, but will try a la carte menu next time.

Service is excellent. The technique shown by the chefs is not far from excellent, it's just a shame the flavour of the food is lacking. There was no hint of foi gras in the espuma with my quail (nor was there a soft boiled quail egg as described). The beef cheek had been preprepared but sadly not reheated enough. While the saturated fat had visually disappeared, its taste glued to every corner of the mouth making it quite unpleasant. The ice cream was flavourless. The chips on the other hand are something else. They're not true chips; more like carefully constructed croquettes but who cares when they taste this good. This restaurant holds its own against the rest of Perth's restaurants at about 8/10, but as far as fine dining is concerned, I can't go past 6.5

Great experience. Was very pleasantly surprised to get an almost last minute reservation at Clarkes. We went on a Friday, and ordered off the al la carte menu. Food was delicious, served promptly and with a very pleasant waiter. Both teenagers dragged with are notoriously difficult to please, and both thoroughly enjoyed their food. Cannot recommend it enough - excellent food, good service and not frightfully pretentious.

Simply Exceptional. Clarke's had been recommended by a work colleague years ago, but I'd somehow not had the opportunity to try it until recently.
Had the degustation menu with matched wines and both the optional spanner crab and duck courses.
I'll start with the bad: I flatly did not like the beef cheek that came with the beef fillet - the fillet was excellent, but the cheek was dry and flavourless. Additionally, I probably would have been hungry had I not ordered the extra courses.
*Everything else* was great and both optional meals were excellent, particularly the spanner crab. Our sommelier was both knowledgeable, talkative and generous which is very much appreciated when the wine is so well matched to the courses.
EASILY makes it into my top 3 Perth degos - I regret not visiting earlier and will certainly visit again!

Best Dego Ever. By far the best degustation I've had. The portion sizes were a bit bigger than usual, the wine pours very generous, and the service outstanding! Highly recommended even for us southern suburbs types to make the trek :)

Anniversary Dinner. I went here for our wedding anniversary dinner. It had been a few years since I had been here but the food and service is still brilliant. We had the degustation and the pork belly and the spanner crab were outstanding. We'll definitely go back.

We ordered the degustation meal with the 3 options (duck, spanner crab & cheese course) with the wine pairings. Pork belly was awesome. Also enjoyed the sous vide barramundi. Desserts were amazing. Highly recommend the wine pairings.

I can't recommend Clarkes enough, it's one of my favourite spots! The food is always delish, the pork belly makes my heart sing (I will admit that I always order the same thing, once you find a good thing, stick with it) and the cheese plates are to die for! The service is perfect, the staff are just wonderful and it's a very romant and cosy place! Love that I can bring a bottle of wine with me - these guys know the way to make me happy! Woohoo go Clarke's you're an absolute gem!

Everything was wonderful!. My boyfriend brought me here for my birthday and we had one of the most amazing dinner ever. We had degustation for two, and everything was very well-presented, from the entrees to the mains and desserts. All our meals were so delicious I could not find any fault in them. My favourite dish of the night would be the veal. Every single element on the plate was just cooked to perfection. Would love to go back again sometime!

Thumbs-up!. Clarke's offers beautifully presented dishes all of which are totally delicious!
The service was very efficient and on top of that, you can bring your own wine.
We went there before catching a movie at cinema and the timing was just perfect.
We will definitely go back again.

Outstanding!. I visited here last year for a work function and I cannot fault the experience. Food was not only delicious but it was presented beautifully. Each dish from the degustation was a delight and very reasonably priced at $100 per head. Service was perfect, our waiter assisted in matching our own BYO wines that we took along to complement each dish. I will be visiting again and would highly recommend this for anyone who appreciates fine dining.

Very enjoyable. We ordered from the regular menu. My wife had the pork belly entree and said it was one of the best she's ever tasted - and she's tasted a lot of pork belly! As for my quail entree, pork main and my wife's lamb main, they were all very good but not quite perfect. I love that there are different textures and flavours within the same dish, and the flavours are great as is the presentation. The only thing slightly detracting was that on each dish there was maybe one element (of four or so) that was a fraction overcooked - but only a fraction. My chocolate tart dessert was very nice. However, we had to return my wife's dessert of the fig ice cream and glazed fruit. The ice cream wasn't ice cream, it was thick cream without any fig flavour. The good news is that they offered a replacement (which we declined) and automatically didn't charge us for it, so we didn't leave feeling annoyed. Good on them for that.

The service was fine. The younger waiter was pleasant but seemed to be out of his depth in regard to knowledge of the food so I hope that he can brush up on that. I really didn't find it too expensive for Perth. Overall it was an enjoyable experience and we will go back.

Good for locals. After discussing the best degustation options in Perth, we were told to give Clarkes a shot. The amuse Bouche was a little lack lustre, with a lack of texture and flavour profile, but it got better from there on. The dishes were executed well with innovative construction. In summary the food was great and each dish bought something new to the table. The service and decor was another story entirely. Menus were plonked infringing of us with no explanation of what was in store, and no detailed explanation of the dishes on arrival. From there was a few negatives which was really disappointing. The service overall was acceptable but certainly not attentitive and professional for this price point. The restroom looked like it had been put together by a staff member. After comparing Clarkes to Amuse and Jackson's, we came to the conclusion that the latter were far better options for the same money. The comparison is service and decor is far better in amuse and Jackson's, and really doesn't give Clarkes an option unless you live nearby. The charge of $20 per person corkage they try to charge is aplorable, and really adds to the little negatives we had tonight.
If they can get the venue and service to a higher standard to match the food, it will warrant a second chance.
Food 8.5/10 service 7/10 decor 6.5/10

This place is amazing !!! Great service, food to die for and wine that compliments the food like you would not believe. A must and do the wine with the degasastation as I can't believe this gorgeous place is in Perth and just around the corner from us in North beach, we' will be back - thank you Clarkes for one of the best experiences in food and wine I've ever had !!

Grandeur. Had the desgustation meal on a Saturday night. The food was sublime and the service was excellent. We ordered one extra dish, the Queensland spanner crab and it was the best! Absolutely love this place. Although expensive but it was money well spent.

Visited on Saturday night with a friend and had the full degustation menu, including both extra courses, cheese and matching wines (indulgent!). Every dish was spectacular. Beautifully balanced, beautiful flavours, excellent presentation. The wine was matched perfectly to each dish.

Highlight was the spanner crab dish and the lemon meringue dessert, which was matched wonderfully with the D'Arenberg Botrytis Riesling.

Would visit again in a heartbeat!

Top Spot. This is one of Perth's better restaurants period. A further bonus is that the restaurant is BYO so we elected to bring our own selection of higher end premium wines to match the food. We booked for a Friday night, had a largish group of 7 and all had the degustation menu with a few of us also opting for the additional courses on offer.
I summarise the dining experience as follows - Service excellent, attentive, professional and engaging. Setting, spot on with our table never feeling like we were sitting on top of other diners despite a full restaurant. Timing of the food, something that other fine dining establishments cannot seem to get right when a degustation meal is chosen was also perfect, allowing just the right amount of time between courses.
Now the food. I would say it is definitely some of the better quality food on offer for this style of meal in Perth. Pork belly was beautifully cooked with spiral crackle. The spanner crab salad was tasty and optional cheese board was also great. Serving size was above average for this style of meal. I am now looking forward to returning and trying a standard menu, and to see the seasonal changes in the deg menu.

Degustation evening for 4. I recently booked for 4 at Clarkes. Please note Fine dining is not new to us.
The food was exquisite BUT I do not eat Rare Beef and there was not an option only an additional with charge to purchase another dish. (main).
I gave my beef to the 2 gentlemen with us. I ate the Spanner Crab (amazing) which was an additional cost. The service buy the Ladies was excellent as they took mind to interrupting conversation etc.
The waiter was over efficient buy pouring wine without asking if everyone was drinking white, they weren't but by the time he had finished every 10-15 minutes topping glasses, the men had no choice. My understanding is that nothing is forced upon you especially when dining. A simple question, are you all drinking White wine? would have resolved the issue. The waiter-person was like a hurricane, boom, boom boom! If you didn't want the white, it was too late to say so.
When all was concluded there were a few things on the table to be taken away, another waiter appeared, reached-stretched accross in front of me to the other persons position to retrieve both placings, hmmmm!
Then we were not asked if would like the account, it simply appeared on the table, to say buzz off!
May I say this is the only Fine dining establishment that allows 'BYO' thank heavens as we do not drink Chardonay and this is often a wine matching situation.
I will indeed eat there again and would highly recommend this restuarant and the deserts were to Live for. I would marry the chef.

"MAGNIFICENT". Having no plans tonight we used Urbanspoon to randomly choose us somewhere to go for dinner tonight.

Clarke's of North Beach is what it chose and a great choice at that. I phoned to see if they had room and they'd just had a cancellation so they could accommodate us. They were very friendly and professional on the phone which is always a great start.

On arrival we were shown to our table straight away by one of the many friendly staff they had on tonight. I think we met all the staff throughout the night who were very accommodating in changing certain items on the Degustation menu because I don't like fish or lemon desserts. We opted to include the two extra courses, making it an eight course dinner plus the optional cheeses they threw in complimentary at the end for us making it 9 courses. :o) We left with our bellies very content.

The Staff were professional, but very approachable and friendly. They explained dishes well and were able to recommend some wine that we absolutely loved.

Definitely not a cheap night out by all means, but a MUST to add to anybody's list of places to dine at, even if you save it for a special occasion. The atmosphere was great, the staff were awesome, the food was fantastic! I'd never had "pre-dessert" before...it's kinda like having two desserts...LOVED IT!

Definitely dine here, you won't be disappointed. Was worth the money, so glad we went and look forward to going back again soon.

I have wanted to try Clark's for ages & Friday night we finally got there & what a great treat!!! Admittedly I was wary as so often a place is overly hyped and leaves me disappointed but this was not the case with Clark's. The Gin & Tonic sorbet was the perfect little mouthful preparing my palette for the rabbit & snail entree which was very well designed & even better executed, the rabbit was succulent & the snail a textural delight. I had the venison for main which was cooked immaculately & paired well with sweet & sour red cabbage. For dessert I um'd & arh'd between the impressive cheese course or the lemon tart which I opted for, it was tasty & looked lovely but for me lacked the sparkle that I felt from the rest of the meals but still a cut above so many. The service was impeccable & more importantly super friendly our waitress Rebecca was a joy to deal with which is becoming extinct in Perth. My dining experience at Clark's matched that of Amuse and matched so many of my missed eateries in Sydney which I long for on a daily basis, I look forward to eating there again at season menu change
