Love the food. Always great service. Meals are delicious. At a great location with nothing else like this around
My boyfriend and I went in May. I believe this restaurant has changed hands. The service is fantastic and the food was absolutely delicious. As far as I can tell, all of the issues in past reviews have been addressed by the new owner. I'm taking my daughter and grandson this Friday night for her birthday. If it is as good as last time I will be well pleased. Home made bread, beautifully spiced lamb to cook on the stone, I'm having that again.
All though cooking the food yourself is not for everyone, I quite enjoyed it. It was different, the food was great and the waiters were nice. Overall I had good experience.
Yes you cook your own steak. Yes the thing sizzles in your face and can potentially splatter your clothes if you go cray with garlic butter. Go to another restaurant if this sounds too hard core for you!! We went first time and first time for me cooking on a stone. Hubs had the black Angus I had the fillet minon. The meat was tender and delicious. Comes with a little garden salad and yummy chips as well as delicious sauces. Steak and garlic butter hmmmmm. Anyway, for starters we also ordered crumbed olives and garlic bread and the olives were particularly delicious! No room for desert. Cost us $94 for two but we loved it so no problem in paying big bucks for a great meal. Thanks to the young ginger waitress for your friendliness and cooking tips. We will be back!
The staff are incredibly friendly here and very passionate about what they do. We keep saying we'll go and have dinner in, but so far we haven't done that so I can only comment on their take-away ribs.
I have to say that there was a period the ribs were quite fatty and we stopped going for a while. But recently we have been going back and haven't been disappointed once! The ribs are fantastic and their sauce is one of my favourites. The meat falls of the bone covered in smokey sauce. Delicious. Their chips are one of the best too. I still aim to have dinner in one day, but absolutely recommend this place for the ribs, the atmosphere and the friendly staff,
My partner and I had our anniversary dinner here and it was amazing! Our first experience of anything such and it was a random pick. If anyone is willing to spend a little more money than maccas this is a great place to start!
I cannot believe people are complaining they had to cook their meat themselves at Stones. Dahl! That is the whole concept of this place. My steak was delicious & I cooked it perfectly to my liking ........ that's what you are supposed to do. Friendly staff there too.
Visited on a weeknight and service was very good. The food was fresh and aromas that filled the inside part of the restaurant was devine (due to the hot stone cooking at the tables). Reasonably priced and recommend the seafood.
Absolutely Love Stones on the Lakes. I have been to Stones on the Lakes many times and just love the place. I love the fact that you cook your own meal.. For all the complainers "its not rocket science that you cook your own meal" I love it and we always take our friends their. They have a awesome special on Tuesday nights but you have to book in as it fills up very quickly.
If you are lactose intolerant the ice-cream is fine to eat... I love the Cold Stone dessert...
We are Frequent diners of this restaurant and just love it...
BYO but the food is great......
Will be going back very soon...
I do like it but I think it's a lot to do with the great location and views. Service and food was a little ordinary.
